Six Elements in Promoting Open Science: Malaysian academicians’ research practices in information science
The Malaysia Open Science Platform (MOSP) has been a challenging path for open science due to the ongoing planning and construction of the crucial organizational enablers. This study aims to understand the pre-MOSP research practices by exploring data management, identifying any existing Open Science Practices (OSPs), and assessing attitudes toward open science in information science. In-depth interviews with five researchers discovered six elements for promoting open science, namely 1) incentivization and recognition, 2) policy framework, 3) education, awareness, and Research Data Management (RDM) services, 4) collaboration and interdisciplinary platforms, 5) open access repositories, and 6) technological infrastructure
Exploring Critical Success Factors in Compliance-Driven Cyber Insurance within Malaysian Organizations: A COBIT 5 enabler approach
In today's cybersecurity landscape, simply acquiring cyber insurance is insufficient; its effectiveness relies on adherence to cybersecurity standards. This study explores critical success factors (CSFs) for compliance-driven cyber insurance in Malaysian organizations using the COBIT 5 enablers. The research identifies key factors essential for effective compliance-driven cyber insurance implementation through semi-structured interviews with industry experts. The findings align ten themes and seventeen sub-themes from qualitative analysis with the seven COBIT 5 enablers, emphasizing a holistic approach to enhance governance, risk management, and organizational resilience. This research offers valuable insights for organizations aiming to strengthen cyber resilience through compliance-aligned insurance strategies
An Effective Job Scheduling for Maximum Resource Utilisation with Particle Swarm Optimisation
This paper focuses on optimizing job schedules using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). The goal is to find a schedule that minimizes the time needed to complete all tasks. The algorithm is chosen as it can achieve fast convergence due to its swarm intelligence behavior and its capability to search in a global space. The results show that PSO can minimize the time of the job schedule effectively. This is very helpful for businesses in managing their resources efficiently, thus, reducing the cost. It benefits industries that involve complex scheduling such as manufacturing and logistics. The paper highlights the capabilities of PSO in optimizing job schedules and could be applied to solve various problems across different domains
Consumer Behaviour: Consuming rabbit meat among Malaysians
This study explores rabbit meat consumption among Malaysians as an alternative protein source. Rabbit meat is rich in nutritional value and is easy to breed, making it a potential substitute. Concerns related to empathy for animals and association of rabbits with pet’s influence resistance to its consumption. This study aims to contribute to understanding Malaysian consumer behaviour related to consuming rabbit meat. Questionnaires were distributed to 241 respondents from different states in Malaysia. A non-probability sampling technique selects participants based on accessibility and willingness to participate. It is found that respondents' frequency of eating rabbits differs according to socioeconomic background

Managing Sustainable Development Goal 12 by University Students in Malaysia
This study aims to identify key factors contributing to the success of Sustainable Development Goal 12 (SDG12) projects, specifically focusing on responsible consumption and production, undertaken by students from Malaysian universities. Using a quantitative survey approach, the findings reveal that university support and student engagement significantly influence the success of these projects. The study highlights the crucial role of institutional support in fostering student engagement, which enhances students' contributions to sustainable development. By promoting student engagement through university support, institutions not only advance their sustainability objectives but also cultivate a generation of advocates capable of driving future change
"Swipe Now, Worry Later"- Unpacking the Factors Driving BNPL Adoption: A scoping review perspective
The rapid expansion of Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) services has reshaped consumer finance, raising concerns about the drivers of its adoption and the potential risks. This scoping review systematically examines the factors influencing BNPL adoption, providing a comprehensive overview of the existing literature on the subject. This study investigated the four main factors: social influence, perceived usefulness, attitudes, and subjective norms. These provide important insights for service providers to develop better marketing and consumer protection strategies. This paper contributes to the academic discourse by mapping the existing knowledge landscape, offering valuable insights for policymakers, financial institutions, and researchers.
Exploring the Sustainable and Highest-Best Use (SHBU) Model in Rural Land Management in Malaysia
Rural land management in Malaysia needs to embrace innovation to overcome global challenges. Therefore, this paper intends to explore sustainability using the highest and best-use (SHBU) model in managing rural land development. The SHBU conceptual model consists of five dimensions: i) Landuse, ii) Business Element, iii) Agropreneur, iv) Residential compound element, and v) Organisation management. Multicriteria Decision Making Analysis (MCDM) was used to determine the suitable land use for the case study in the FELDA settlement. The analysis indicates that the SHBU model assists in determining the sustainable and highest-best use of the land in that area
Decoding Al-Israiliyyat in Tafsir Tarjuman Al-Mustafid: A genetic approach to the first juz of the Al-Quran
This study employs a genetic methodology to investigate the incorporation of al-Israiliyyat in the First Juz of the Quran as interpreted in Tafsir Tarjuman al-Mustafid. Al-Israiliyyat, narratives of Jewish and Christian origin, are critically analyzed to determine their impact on the exegetical process. The research traces these narrations' provenance and reference sources, offering insights into their transmission and integration. By situating the findings within a historical and epistemological framework, this study contributes to the field of Quranic exegesis. It enriches scholarly understanding of al-Israiliyyat’s role in Islamic interpretative traditions
Development of an Arabic Vocabulary Selection Model for Lower Secondary Students using the Fuzzy Delphi Method
The purpose of this project is to use the Fuzzy Delphi technique to create an Arabic vocabulary selection model for Malaysian lower secondary pupils. Five Arabic and educational specialists were chosen to assess important vocabulary selection factors. Five primary domains were identified by the experts: instructional value, curriculum relevance, contextual suitability, frequency of use, and challenge level. Every Fuzzy Delphi criterion was met by the model, including the α-cut score (≥ 3.5), agreement (≥ 75%), and threshold value (d < 0.2). The creation of more potent Arabic teaching resources can be guided by this concept
Influence of Information Quality on Restaurant Purchase Behaviour: Mediating roles of perceived usefulness and attitude
The rapid digitalisation of the restaurant industry has transformed how consumers make dining decisions, with online information now playing a vital role in influencing trust and purchase behaviour. This study examines the relationships among information quality, perceived usefulness, attitude, and restaurant purchase behaviour, using data from 327 Malaysian consumers analysed with SmartPLS 4. Results reveal that information quality significantly influences perceived usefulness, attitude, and purchase behaviour, with both perceived usefulness and attitude mediating its effects on consumer decisions. The findings show that reliable online communication builds trust, engagement, and loyalty, while positive restaurant experiences boost consumer well-being and quality lif
