A Constructive Framework for Colour Vision Deficiency (CVD) in Digital Photography

    Get PDF
Studies show that around 8% of men and about 0.5% of women globally are affected by color blindness (Nathans et al., 1993; Neitz & Neitz, 2011), making the appreciation of photography challenging. Further research is required to explore the visual difficulties that color vision deficiency (CVD) photographers face. This study evaluates the visual skills of CVD photographers, explicitly focusing on the categories of Protanopia, Tritanopia, and Deuteranopia. It employs the HSx-Based Method, Contour Adjustment, Interpretation Process, and Perception Learning. After preliminary testing, experimental testing was conducted with control questions and minimal coaching. The Chi-square Test of Homogeneity classifies CVD and compares it to normal vision. Spearman's Rho Correlation Test confirms that all CVD categories are "photosafe," providing valuable software and product development insights

A Comparison of the Motifs on Kelantan and Yunnan Silverware

    Get PDF
This study provides an in-depth analysis of the similarities and differences between the handicraft silverware motifs of Kelantan and Yunnan, with a particular focus on the silverware handicraft artefacts of Kota Bharu, Kelantan and Dali, Yunnan, emphasizing the structural elements of the decorative motifs. Focusing on the diversity of motif classifications, visual representations and motifs exhibited in the two regions, comparative analyses are needed to identify similarities and differences in thematic content. This study deepens our understanding of the differences in the motifs of handcrafted silverware from different regions, demonstrating how this culturally significant tradition is shown through motifs

Evaluating the Characteristics and Suitability of Data Governance Models for Adoption in Malaysia’s Mobility Services Sector

    Get PDF
Malaysia’s mobility services sector requires a robust data governance (DG) framework to ensure secure, transparent, and efficient data management. This study evaluates six established DG modelsincluding COBIT, DAMA-DMBOK, and the DGI Frameworkthrough a thematic literature review, identifying 16 key components grouped into four categories: data, authority, policy and control, and protection. Among these, data architecture, data integration, and data quality are the most critical. The findings provide a foundation for developing a tailored DG framework that supports regulatory compliance, fosters trust, and enhances operational effectiveness across the country’s evolving digital mobility ecosystem

Energy Intensity, Financial Development, Emissions and Growth in Malaysia

    Get PDF
This paper investigates the dynamic relationship between energy intensity, financial development, emissions, and economic growth in Malaysia using the econometric time series method to test the long-term relationship between selected variables. Based on samples from 1980 to 2019, our empirical findings suggest that all the variables' interests are cointegrated in the long run. Moreover, energy intensity and economic growth have the expected outcome where a higher growth rate in Malaysia promotes more efficient energy use. Meanwhile, emissions and financial development provide evidence that energy intensity will increase as emissions and financial development increase

Mediating Role of Cognitive Skills in Online Shopping: An empirical study in Malaysia using UTAUT 3

    Get PDF
The Fourth Industrial Revolution has accelerated digital business transformation, particularly online shopping in Malaysia. This study examines factors influencing customer experience using data from a 55-respondent pilot test. Grounded in the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 3 (UTAUT 3) framework, it examines the roles of performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and cognitive skills as a mediating variable. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) analysis reveals significant influences of performance and effort expectancy, mediated by cognitive skills, providing valuable insights for optimizing e-commerce in Malaysia’s growing digital economy

Advancing Climate Transparency and Accountability: TCFD-based Climate Reporting

    Get PDF
Climate reporting has emerged as a crucial mechanism to scrutinise firms' environmental transparency and accountability, owing to the catastrophic impacts of climate change globally. This study aims to develop a climate-related information disclosure index (CRIDi) that serves as an instrument for a consistent and comparable environmental evaluation for business players in Malaysia. The study’s novelty lies in the integration of the recommendations by the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and listing requirements by Bursa Malaysia. It benefits businesses for regulation adherence besides preparing firms to respond timely and appropriately to identified climate risks and opportunities

Morphological and Syntactic Semantics of Lexical Polysemy in the Qur’an using 'Fitna' as a Case Study

    Get PDF
This study examines the lexical polysemy of the Arabic term fitna in the Qur'an, emphasizing morphological and syntactic analysis. Using fitna as a case study, we demonstrate how specific grammatical forms and syntactic positions signal distinct meanings such as trial, persecution, temptation, discord, and punishment. Through classical lexicons and Qur’anic verses, this research concludes that diverse meanings of fitna share the common concept of testing or affliction. The findings underscore linguistic context as crucial for accurate Qur’anic interpretation, providing guidance for translators and exegetes

Effects of Motivation, Self-Efficacy, Efficiency, and Qualities on Academician's Job Performance during Work from Home (WFH)

    Get PDF
WFH has become the "new norm," prompting organizations to consider its long-term implementation. This study investigates the relationship between telework motivation, self-efficacy, efficiency, and quality, and their impact on job performance among academicians. Through an online survey of 369 lecturers from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), employing statistical analyses including Pearson correlation and multiple regression, the study finds significant positive correlations between telework motivation, self-efficacy, efficiency, quality, and job performance. Particularly, telework self-efficacy and quality significantly influence job performance. The findings underscore the importance of fostering self-efficacy and providing supportive telework environments to enhance productivity and well-being among remote academic staff

Solar Panel Defect Detection using FOMO on Edge Impulse

    Get PDF
A machine learning model is developed for detecting defects in solar panels, focusing on hotspot detection. The project was created on Edge Impulse with images of solar panels in normal and defective states. The trained model with appropriate training accuracy was then deployed on a smartphone for real-time defect detection, utilizing a camera to capture and process image frames, overlaying results on a smartphone screen for immediate inspection. The evaluation revealed an F1 score of 80.5% for hotspot detection with an accuracy of over 95% for the model-detecting hotspots. This demonstrates the model’s practical application and effectiveness for solar panel hotspot detection

Benefits and Challenges of Pedagogical Approachon Studio-Based Learning

    Get PDF
Iterative practice and feedback in a studio environment are essential for creative students' skill development in Studio-Based Learning (SBL). This study addresses SBL's pros and cons in design, engineering, architecture, and the arts. It synthesises studies to determine how this pedagogical style affects student performance, critical thinking, communication, and teamwork - crucial for professional activity. This review analyses empirical data to determine how disciplinary contexts and learning outcomes affect SBL efficacy. This research shows how SBL might improve education, particularly in collaborative and multidisciplinary learning situations. Organised yet customisable teaching systems improve student engagement and academic success in creative subjects
