Architecture and clothing design are among the extensively employed arts in everyday human life. Their common features and properties must be thoroughly outlined to study their potential progress to achieve the same goal. These common features can be a mutual source of an inspiration and a great significance. Architecture is a very broad field and is deemed to predate clothing design. One of the aesthetically significant architectures is historical buildings within the kingdom of which mosques have garnered particular attention in Islamic aesthetics. The required information on this case study is, the Imam Mosque of the city of Isfahan (located on the south side of Naghsh Jahan Square), was collected from library archived, i.e., through books and articles and electronic sources. After gathering information and obtaining the common features of these two areas, this case study clothing design using conceptual motifs by Ms. Mohajeri, a restorer of historical monuments, is explored. The design of the target garment is inspired by the entrance of the Imam Mosque in the city of Isfahan. The forms, patterns, and colors used in the mosque entrance have also been recreated in this dress. The result from examining the notion, design, and creation process of this work indicates the feasibility of the interaction of the two areas

Citizens' dissatisfaction has been generated by the reduction in the quality of residential settings as a result of cities' fast expansion and development, which has led to issues such as mental depression and different types of urban unrest and damage. In such conditions, several architectural and urban planning thinkers and theorists have recommended "enhancing the quality of the living environment" as a means of reaching the aim of "environmental perception." The approach's major goals are divided into two categories: improving the physical state of the living environment and enhancing residents' mental perceptions of the quality of their living environment. This is accomplished by attempting to generate favorable physical/environmental circumstances as well as a positive assessment of the environment's objective and observable elements. To achieve this, it is necessary to identify the variables and components that affect the quality of the living environment, as well as to measure the level of residents' perception of each of these components, so that appropriate strategies can be developed if there is a clear difference between the measured and desired situations. To enhance and improve the quality components. Thus, the current study attempted to provide a model using a descriptive and analytical method by examining various theories and experiences in the field of quality, so that it can be used in Shiraz city's Environmental and Social to evaluate the perception of residential environment and to take action on the specified goals. Once the primary factors, which include physical, functional-functional, and social variables, have been identified. The factors impacting perception of the environment were then assessed using the field technique and a questionnaire, with the spatial physical variable receiving the highest score. In this respect, the current research. Certainly, the enhancement of urban life and the inhabitants' perceptions of the environment in their region pave the way for the eradication of many social issues that now influencing residential environments

Each event creates a chain of not so new narratives. Criticism of an event in historical and social aspects can include an idea, albeit with different dimensions. Addressing the role of women is one of the topics that has a long history in various societies, especially modern ones. A question that has been tried to be answered in various human, temporal and spatial aspects. How was the woman and her role marginalized in history? In the continuation of this question, the path of prohibition should be sought from history. How its face and representation and even the voice of a woman have been absent and marginalized in the history of some special societies in the Middle East. In this work, we tried to present women in the history of their life and human life with two phenomena of sound and typography and to re-read the legitimacy of sound due to the aging of the same forbidden voice in youth

Knowledge has long been in the field of human knowledge. In the evolutionary history of science, many theories and hypotheses have always been proposed and proven. This category reflects the fundamental changes in the manner of thinking in human knowledge. In the contemporary era, knowledge faces more complex issues. Therefore, achieving growth and production in any field by using new methods based on looking to the future is one of the pillars of human knowledge. In the field of architectural design process studies, the growth and development of creativity, that is, how ideas arise and develop in the mind, is one of the topics. Creative results in the field of architecture can be the result of changing the problem components according to the existing contradictions recognition in the field of architectural design process. Since the design process involves the emergence, evolution, metamorphosis of ideas, and the formation of concepts, one of the topics in the design process is the conceptual transformation. Conceptual tradition by changing the way of thinking, offers creative solutions to improve the way of knowing and solving the optimal problem. The role of conceptual tradition in the development of the architectural design process is by changing the components of the design problem. On the other hand, competitiveness is the basis for the growth and promotion of the field of architectural design. Therefore, achieving a meaningful relationship between conceptual tradition and competitiveness in architectural design, to increase creativity in the field of architectural design is research necessity. The research method has been done “deductive reasoning” and using “analytical-descriptive” measures, with a quantitative and qualitative approach. Field studies has been carried out using questionnaire. To validate the data measurement, standard evaluation tools and theories of the Delphi expert community have been cited. Preliminary data extracted from the first stage in eight architectural projects were evaluated through Delphi and related factors were extracted. Finally, using pls software and regression test based on the extracted data, the research hypotheses were proved

This article is based on descriptive - experimental method, and have dealt with new designs of men's upper body (or vest) undergarments, which are in two areas of fabric and clothing design with the ability to cure the dandruff dermatitis. Dandruff dermatitis is a skin disease that is more common in men and its initial symptoms are redness, itching and inflammation on the scalp head, face, the area that integrates with the abdomen and upper chest which causes the scaling, inflammation and itching. In this article, an attempt has been made by designing clothes vest (undergarment) and torso that make good contact with the chest area helps to improve the disease. First, the fabric used in this research was electrospun by the active ingredient of Pyrithione Zinc. In the undergarment design section, for better and appropriate coverage in the chest sternum region, two methods were used, as springs in the embroidered box as well as adjustable tape with the ability to separate from the torso. The designs are inspired by motifs taken from embossed molding belonging to the Sassanid period and also unglazed earthenware vases discovered from the Shush region. Finally, clothes were designed that other than just covering the desired area can help to improve dandruff dermatitis

Theatre for Development (TfD) and its Significance in Rural Development

    Get PDF
Regardless of the benefits that development has brought to some, it has largely bypassed the very people who most need a better standard of living: the masses in rural and semi-urban areas. The model of using participatory learning methods to explore the main concerns of a group and then creating a play to discuss the issues could be used in many situations. Theater for Development (TfD) is a relatively new way of using theater to enhance development in the real world. It is an art in which the Community Theater is used as a tool for mobilization, education, awareness, sensitization, and awareness of the community, all to achieve a change, either in individuals or in the community as a whole. This study aims to evaluate the relevance of theater in the concept of rural development and answer the question "What is the role of theater in the development process and how TfD can be a useful method for participatory development in the rural and semi-urban areas? "To obtain a comprehensive perception, this article goes further by explaining the TfD process and evaluating its advantages and disadvantages in the rural development process. The data used for this study is secondary data collected from previous studies using a qualitative and descriptive approach to interpret and analyze previous studies. This study argues that there is a strong link between development and theater and the latter can provide an opportunity to foster the process of development of marginalized groups in rural and semi-urban areas by creating a participatory platform that involves the local population in projects of development and make dialogue possible. However, there are some shortcomings in practice, such as fundraising or the influence of the governing systems that are the main investors that could misdirect the designated message. There are still gaps in the knowledge and practicality of the TfD method that should be overcome in the future

Open spaces in residential complexes have diameters that encourage people to attend these places to pass their times. This research by using a complex method, extracts effective environmental factors in the sense of place in open spaces of residential complexes to develop them by means of developing stimulus projects. In the first stage, the extraction and verifying them with a theoretical basis, a questionnaire is developed by interviewing the effective variables. This is available for space users and they are asked to answer the semi-open questions and for verifying them, they should refer to university experts. 52 residential complexes were studied in Tehran. 384 residents are randomly sampled. For the qualitative part, open and axial coding techniques are used in ATLASTI software. In quantitative section the inferential tests in SPSS were used. It can be concluded the dimensions of sense of place in residential complexes are intertwined and each of these dimensions includes the other, in a way that in the components or the first dimension of spatial-social components, they are merged and they have correlation. In the second factor physical-social and in the third factor socio-spatial and in the fourth factor spatial factors exist. Overall, when the selected components have two aspects of the environment, the correlation between them is much higher than the components to create more coverage to induct a sense of place in the residential complexes. It should be in a way that cover two or more dimensions to achieve more success than sense of place
