Kehrt der Staat zurück? Wirtschaftskrise und Demokratie
There is some evidence that the crisis of the financial market has leaded – as some critics suggest - to a crisis of neoliberalism, a crisis of finance driven accumulation or even of a structural crisis of capitalism. The reason for this suggestion is the return of state interventionism. But this is misleading because the state intervened alongside with the formation of new owner relations of capital during the last two decades and supporting this new rising fraction of capital was in itself reorganized. The measures undertaken to smooth down the crisis are still part of an ongoing neoliberal political strategy to deal with a long lasting crisis of overaccumulation, probably ending up in an even deeper crisis including a crisis of political crisis management

Resource politics means the access to resources, the use of resources and the governance of resources. The current debate on climate change contributes to the ongoing social and economic injustice within gender relations. Die Schweiz als Steueroase: Anatomie eines Sonderfalls
Although Switzerland is not a typical tax haven. Switzerlands legal system has some distinctive features that allows foreign individuals and companies to evade taxes, The most important is the distinction between tax evasion and tax fraud. with only the latter being a criminal offense. Roughly one Third of worldwide crossborder private wealth is managed in Switzerland, between 1.25 to 3.6 trillion francs are not taxed in the country of origin
Schillernd und technokratisch: Grüner New Deal als magic bullet in der Krise des neoliberal-imperialen Kapitalismus?
A discussion about a Green New Deal (GND) refers to the ongoing and uneven crisis with its financial and economic, environmental and climate related as well as food related dimensions. However, the author criticises the suggestive power of the project and its optimistic assumptions concerning political control, technology and modernisation and its neglect of actual dynamics of capitalist development and crisis as well as the deeply inscribed imperial mode of living. With this, GND is an important project of ecomodernist capitalist forces in the Green and ecologically sensitive social-democratic field. They promote the project in the ongoing "postneoliberal" contestations how to redynamise capitalism. Therefore, it needs to be analysed carefully from a critical-emancipatory perspective. The arrogant tone of some protagonists of the GND debate, i.e. that there is no leftist alternative beyond their project, should be rejected. Emancipatory socio-ecological perspectives must be decisively more critical towards domination, institutions and modernisation
Kritik der öffentlichen Finanzen: Die Finanzkrise des Staates, erneut betrachtet
This review of radical approaches to public finance starts with Marx\u27 various plans to deal with taxes and public debt. Contrary to the conventional view, the state and its economic power are present in Marx\u27 general theory of capitalism as well as in his theories of crisis. After World War I, a long debate on the the (tax) state" began which has inspired the debates on state interventionism and crisis in the 1970s, James O\u27Connor\u27s widely influential concept of the "fiscal crisis" of tl,e state is revisited and reassessed within the context of contemporary fiscal crises

"Die wirkliche Bewegung, welche den jetztigen Zustand aufhebt": Sozialismuskonzepte und deutsche Arbeiterbewegung 1848-1920
This article gives a short overview on the German labour movement from its beginnings to the 1920ies and shortly portraits the different concepts of socialism within the German social democratic party, Against the common misperception of a hegemonial, coherent and powerful concept of socialist politics in the past the article argues that even in their heyday the German labour movement did not have a clear concept of socialist politics, that the term socialism itself was an object of permanent discussions, Both the Marxist critique of utopian socialism and the overwhelming domination of the Prussian state often constrained these discussions about the political form of a postcapitalist society, The most interesting concept of socialism was not created by theoretical discussions among leftist intellectuals, but by political actions against the first world war, which ended with the German Revolution of 1918 and the rise of a powerful council movement This movement not only insisted on the principles of class war but practically overturned many authoritarian and state-dominated ideas of socialism which were common at that time
Steuern und Familienmodelle
By means of the taxation system the state is able to intervene in the living conditions of its citizens. The taxation of married couples and families in Germany is a good example which shows that specific life forms are encouraged by use of taxation politics. This article analyses different effects which are evoked by family policy regulations in the income taxation system. It furthermore deals with conflicts between sociopolitical instruments which tend to avoid poverty and those which pursue gender equality targets
