A Study of the Auditory Environment of a Care Home for Elderly People : - From the Viewpoint of Soundscape -
Get PDFP(論文)The concept of soundscape was proposed by Murray Schafer in 1977. In the domains ofenvironmental education and architectural design, this concept is recognized as a significanttool to evaluate the quality of the environment. From the viewpoint of soundscape, this studyanalyzed the auditory environment of a care home for elderly people and compared it to thatof an elderly person's private home. In the care home, natural sound factors (ex. bird songs)were less counted, and artificial and forced sound factors (ex. noises made by careworkers,BGM) were more counted than the home. Replaying CDs that included sounds recorded innatural environments seemed to draw responses from the elderly people at the care home.The netural sounds reminded them of the time they had spent in their own homes andgardens. All the residents of the care home fondly remembered their past lives spent at theirhomes, and one of them even wrote a Haiku (Jpanese poetry). Based on these results, weproposed that the residential environment of care homes should be improved from theviewpoint of soundscape as well in order to promote quality life.departmental bulletin pape

Get PDFP(論文)社会福祉士及び介護福祉士法が制定されてから19年目を迎える。この法律において介護福祉という語が誕生したと言われている。しかし、介護福祉学は現在においても確立しているとは言い難い状況である。そこで、介護福祉学確立に向けて、介護福祉と関係が深い隣接学問諸領域との関係性を整理した上で、新しい学問領域である介護福祉学確立に向けての方向性として、専門分化を目指し、隣接諸学問を介護福祉の視点で応用して取り込み、整理した上で介護福祉学の体系化を目指すと共に、実践学として、介護実践を通した研究の積み重ねがあると示した。It has been nineteen years since Law of the social worker and the certified careworker was enacted. This law established the discipline of social care work, but it isstill in a developing stage. Therefore, the social care works science isn't established yet.We aim to systematize and specialize it as a new discipline. We have tried to closelyrelate it with inter-disciplinary subjects, and then apply and adopt the results of ourstudy from the view point of social care work. Security of the Self-determination in Social Welfare Services : - From the Viewpoint of the Right Protection and the Contractual System -

So, as the solution, I will examine three points. The first point is the insufficiency of auser's right in social welfare services. The second point is the insufficiency of contractualsystem. The third point is not the self-determination, but the collaboration with the others ina social welfare legal system, as a subject, considering the complaints solution, and theombudsperson system, the third-party evaluation system, and the adult guardianship in Japan. As a conclusion, a true self-determination can be secure by realizing to callaborete with theothers, for the right protection, for wishes of a user. What should be collaborated? It is rasing quality and quantiy with collaborating, while asocial-welfare-services supplier, a user, and a social-welfare-services system share prolemsolvingresponsibility. Survey on the Reading Habit of the Students : - the Comparison with the '05 Public-opinion Survey -
Get PDFP(論文)The reading habit of the students was surveyed and compared with the '05 public-opinionsurvey. The 39% of the surveyed students did not read any book for last one month. Itshowed students were far away from reading. There were total 87.9% among the remaining61.0% who read a book. They had been staisfied with their reading and 67.9% of them hadbeen influenced on their view of life by reading. The 10.7% of the surveyed students boughtbooks by the internet and 27.6% hoped to buy books by the internet in the future. Thestudents who made use of the uniersity library were 22.5% for zero time, 20.7% for morethan six times, and the most frequency was 31.2% for once or twice.departmental bulletin pape
"Integrated Studies" in Training Courses for Early Childhood Educators in Junior Colleges in Japan : From the Viewpoint of Environmental Education
Get PDFP(論文)In 1998, a new subject known as "Integrated Studies" was introduced into the trainingcurriculum as one of the compulsory subjects for obtaining a license as a kindergartenteacher. The research area of environmental education welcomed this addition, because thegoal of this subject partly corresponds with that of environmental education. However,"integrated studies" included in the kindergarten teacher-training course in junior colleges isalso a compulsory subject for acquiring the qualification of a nursery school teacher.Although the name of the subject is the same, the goal of "integrated studies" in thekindergarten teacher-training course differs from that in the nursery school teacher-trainingcourse; moreover, the latter does not require the inclusion of the contents on evironmentaleducation. In this light, I analyzed the syllabi gathered from 149 junior colleges (2-yearcourses) offering training courses for kindergarten teachers in 2002 with the aim of examiningand revealing how the subject "integrated studies" provided environmental education.The results revealed that in the subject "integrated studies," on the whole, 40% of the casesincluded content on environmantal education, while the remaining 60% did not. Therefore, injunior colleges, "integrated studies" does not function as a subject that also covers environmentaleducation, and the liberal arts subjects consequently assume a more important role inenvironmental education than in "integrated studies."departmental bulletin pape

A Study of the Transformation of Special Nursing Homes for the Elderly : - From the Viewpoints of Long-Term Care Service Fees and Certification of Eligibility for Long-Term Care -
Get PDFP(論文)The Public Long-Term Care Insurance System, implemented in April 2000, was developedby totally reorganizing the then current welfare system for the elderly in combination withmedical services for those requiring care. The primary aim was to provide a large part ofconventional welfare services for the elderly through the social insurance service. The structure of long-term care service fees was dramatically changed, and being laterrevised twice in order to accommodate physically or mentally serious cases. Because of these revisions in service fees, many special nursing homes for the elderly havecaused two main problems to emerge:1. Due to their decline in earnings, many facilities have become more inclined towards providing care to serious cases because of the higher fees available, rather than normal cases where fees are very low.2. Decline in their ability to function as a safety net for those suffering from abuse, neglect, or other social environmental reasons. Instead, many facilities have a higher preference for those certified as eligible for long-term care. Countermeasures to address these problems are necessary. Temporarily, a balanced chargesystem should be adopted in order to stabilize facilities' operations, as well as futurederegulation of medical treatments prohibited within facilities. The overall restructure shouldbe made to focus on providing care not just to those certified eligible for long-term care, butalso to those suffering from social environmental circumstances. Both public and governmental opinion has been very critical of nursing home exstence, butsome facilities will have to engage in a providing care to all the elderly in need and theirfamilies, whereby 'peace of mind' and 'human dignity' should prevail.departmental bulletin pape

Effects of Imaging Letters as a Dual Task on the Amount of Priming
Get PDFP(論文)The purpose of this paper was to examine the effects of image on performance during theword fragment completion test, by manipulating the dual task type. In the study phase, Ipresented 36 participants with lists of words, follwed by word fragment completion test.One group of participants was told only to read lists of words (reading condition), a secondgroup was told to preform the dual task which required them to image the figure of letters(letter-imaging condition), and a third group was told to do the dual task in which they mustproduce words (word-producing condition). As result, the priming effect was lower in theletter-imaging condition than in the reading condition, and the world-producing condition.This result showed that imaging the figure of letters during the initial study period significantlyreducaed their performance on the implicit test.departmental bulletin pape
