    Power and Ideology in Online News: A Sociology-Cognitive Critical Discourse Analysis of Misty Copeland’s Representation in CNN

    This study examines how power and ideology operate in CNN’s online news representation of Misty Copeland, using Teun A. van Dijk’s Socio-Cognitive Critical Discourse Analysis (SCA) framework. The research explores how linguistic choices and discursive strategies simultaneously empower and constrain the portrayal of race, gender, and success within liberal media narratives. Data were drawn from selected CNN articles covering Copeland’s achievements and analyzed through textual, cognitive, and social dimensions to reveal how language, cognition, and ideology interact in shaping media representation. The findings indicate that CNN constructs Copeland’s identity through a discourse of “contained empowerment,” which outwardly celebrates diversity while subtly reproducing liberal and post-feminist ideologies. Linguistically, terms such as “trailblazer,” “breaking barriers,” and “making history” elevate Copeland as an exceptional figure. Cognitively, these expressions activate shared mental models grounded in meritocracy, reinforcing beliefs that upward mobility stems primarily from individual effort. Ideologically, the coverage depoliticizes issues of race and gender by transforming structural inequalities into narratives of personal perseverance. The study concludes that CNN’s portrayal of Copeland naturalizes inequality through celebratory empowerment discourse. While promoting diversity, the narrative obscures institutional power and social asymmetry. This research contributes to Critical Discourse Studies by integrating socio-cognitive and intersectional perspectives, highlighting the need for critical media literacy in understanding how digital news both emancipates and regulates meaning in contemporary culture

    PENGGUNAAN MEDIA ALFABET CARD UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA PERMULAAN SISWA PADA PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA INDONESIA

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan melalui media alphabet card, di kelas 2 SDN 7 Limboto, dengan menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Pembelajaran dilakukan dalam 2 siklus, setiap siklus memiliki tahapan yaitu, perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 2 SDN 7 Limboto yang berjumlah 25 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik observasi dan dokumentasi. Analisis data pada penelitian menggunakan rumus deskriptif presentase untuk aktivitas guru, dan kemampuan membaca permulaan. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari peningkatan tiap siklus, yakni siklus I memperoleh aktivas guru 61,3%, dan hasil tes membaca permulaan 50%, dan terjadi peningkatan pada siklus II memperoleh hasil aktivitas guru 86,6%, dan hasil tes membaca permulaan 92,3%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan media buku cerita bergambar (BCB) dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa kelas 2 SDN 7 Limboto pada pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia

    Penggunaan Media Flash Card dalam Meningkatkan Daya Ingat Mufrodat Bahasa Arab Kelas 2 MI Al-Amal Kediren

    Dalam melakukan proses pembelajaran perlu adanya media yang tepat, dalam pemilihan media harus dengan cermat dan tepat agar dapat digunakan untuk menyampaikan materi kepada peserta didik dengan baik dan bisa dipahami oleh siswa tersebut. Salah satunya media yang digunakan yaitu media flash card. Dengan menggunakan media flash card terciptanya pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan tidak membosankan bagi siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana penggunaan media flash card dalam meningkatkan daya ingat  mufrodat bahasa arab dan bagaimana peningkatan daya ingat mufrodat bahasa arab dengan menggunakan media flash card . Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Penelitian dilakukan di kelas 2 MI Al-Amal Kediren, Kecamatan Kalitengah, Kabupaten Lamongan, dengan subjek penelitian yaitu siswa kelas 2. Hasil penelitian mengenai penggunaan media flash card dalam meningkatkan daya ingat mufrodat bahasa arab yang dirancang secara menarik dan interaktif ini melalui 3 tahapan yaitu tahap pendahuluan atau persiapan, inti atau pelaksanaan, dan penutup. Yang dimulai dari mempersiapkan kartu flash card, kemudian penggunaannya dengan yang pertama memperkenalkan kartu tersebut lalu satu persatu  dilihatkan kepada siswa, setelah itu dilakukan tanya jawab dan permainan edukati secara kelompok dan mandiri, dan diakhiri dengan penguatan kembali dengan pengulasan mufrodat. Dan hasil peningkatan daya ingat mufrodat bahasa arab menggunakan media flash card terlihat dari hasil ulangan awal sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan media tersebut. Dengan adanya penggunaan media flash card ini siswa sangat antusias dalam mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran bahasa Arab, dikarenakan media tersebut bergambar, siswa juga merasa senang, dan mudah dalam memahami materi yang dijelaskan oleh peneliti

    Implementation of Multicultural Education as an Effort to Build an Attitude of Tolerance among Students at Tanwirul Qulub Islamic Boarding School

    This study focuses on the implementation of multicultural education at the Tanwirul Qulub Islamic Boarding School in Lamongan and its contribution to fostering tolerance among students. Using a qualitative case study approach, data collection was conducted through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation analysis. The results show that multicultural education at this Islamic boarding school is realized through various activities, both formal and informal. In the formal realm, implementation is seen in the study of yellow books, madrasah diniyah, and school education that emphasizes universal Islamic values. Meanwhile, in the informal realm, multicultural values are practiced through the students' daily activities such as roan (joint community service), deliberations, and the manaqib activities of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jaelani, which involve broad community participation. Through these various activities, the Islamic boarding school strives to instill the values of tasamuh (tolerance), ukhuwah (brotherhood), and ta'awun (mutual assistance) that are internalized in the students' attitudes and behavior. Students are taught to live side by side without discrimination based on region of origin, social background, or cultural differences. Despite challenges such as a lack of formal understanding of the concept of multicultural education and limited learning media, its implementation has proven quite effective. Cross-cultural interactions among students are a crucial means of building harmony, solidarity, and mutual respect within the pesantren

    Pengaruh Model Teams Games Tournament (TGT) untuk Menciptakan Pembelajaran Efektif dan Menyenangkan

    This study aims to investigate the effect of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model in creating effective and enjoyable learning in Grade IV at MI Ma’arif NU Pucuk for the 2024/2025 academic year. The background of this research is the low level of student engagement and enthusiasm in the learning process due to monotonous conventional teaching methods. This study employs a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 32 students. Data collection techniques included tests (pretest and posttest) to measure learning effectiveness, and questionnaires to determine the level of students’ enjoyment during the learning process. The data analysis techniques used were descriptive statistics and inferential statistics in the form of a Paired Sample T-Test. The results showed that the average pretest score of 64.34 increased to 88.25 in the posttest. The results of the Paired Sample T-Test showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. This proves that the TGT model is effective in improving student learning outcomes. In addition, the questionnaire results showed that 62.5% of students considered the learning to be very enjoyable, and 37.5% found it enjoyable. No students felt that the learning was less or not enjoyable. Therefore, the TGT model has been proven to have a positive impact in creating effective and enjoyable learning

    This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the poverty alleviation policies implemented by the Lamongan District Government, using a qualitative descriptive approach that centers the lived experiences of impoverished communities. The findings reveal that although policies and budgets are in place, implementation on the ground falls significantly short of expectations. Key issues include the misalignment of programs with local needs, low levels of community participation in policy planning and evaluation, institutional weaknesses in village organizations such as BUMDes, and a development orientation that prioritizes physical infrastructure over economic empowerment. Moreover, the lack of transparency and accountability in program management further erodes public trust in government institutions. This research underscores that poverty alleviation must be understood as a transformative process that requires participatory, contextual, and sustainable policies—not merely administrative reporting or the achievement of statistical targets. These findings are expected to serve as a foundation for more inclusive policy evaluations and to encourage a more just and meaningful presence of the state within society

    A Bibliometric Analysis Of The Fragmented Nexus Between Pedagogical Competence, Mindfulness, And Teacher Burnout (2015–2025)

    Teacher burnout has escalated from an occupational hazard to a systemic crisis globally, threatening educational sustainability in the post-pandemic era. While pedagogical competence and mindfulness are widely recognized as vital protective factors, (Gap) existing literature remains fragmented, often treating technical teaching skills and psychological well-being as isolated domains rather than synergistic mechanisms. This study aims to map the intellectual structure and thematic evolution of global research connecting teachers' pedagogical competence, mindfulness, and burnout prevention. Employing a bibliometric approach, metadata from Scopus-indexed articles published between 2015 and 2025 were analyzed using VOSviewer to visualize publication trends, co-authorship networks, and keyword co-occurrences. The results reveal a "symptom-centric" landscape dominated by Western institutions, yet characterized by weak cross-national collaboration. Crucially, the keyword analysis exposes a conceptual dichotomy: while "burnout" dominates as the central node, "mindfulness" (psychological) and "pedagogical competence" (technical) exist in disconnected clusters, indicating a lack of integrative research. These findings suggest an urgent need for "Integrated Professionalism" frameworks. Educational policy must move beyond segregated interventions by embedding mindfulness practices directly within pedagogical development programs to foster holistic teacher resilience against future disruptions

    Decolonizing Islamic Education: Muslim Intellectual Critiques of Western Educational Hegemony during the Colonial Period

    This study examines the transformation of Islamic education during the colonial period and the intellectual responses of Muslim scholars to Western educational hegemony through a systematic literature review (SLR). Colonial expansion introduced modern secular schooling systems that significantly reshaped educational institutions in many Muslim societies. These reforms produced a dual educational structure in which Western schools operated alongside traditional Islamic institutions such as madrasah and pesantren, influencing knowledge hierarchies, language policies, and educational authority. Using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) protocol, this study systematically analyzed scholarly publications retrieved from the Scopus database to identify major themes and theoretical perspectives in the literature. The findings reveal four key patterns: the institutional transformation of Islamic education under colonial policies, the emergence of educational dualism, the intellectual responses of Muslim scholars to Western epistemological dominance, and the growing relevance of decolonial perspectives in contemporary educational debates. The review highlights the resilience of Islamic educational institutions in preserving religious knowledge traditions while engaging with modern knowledge. These findings contribute to discussions on the decolonization of education and the development of culturally grounded educational frameworks in Muslim societies

    Pengentasan Kemiskinan Berbasis Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Di Kabupaten Pohuwato

    This study aims to explain and analyze empowerment-based poverty alleviation programs through the activities of assistance, facilitation and promotion and determinant factors of success in empowerment-based poverty eradication in Pohuwato District. This research method using qualitative approach, descriptive type to get a complete picture of problem of resource development of apparatus. The results of the research show that the assistance activities through training, consultation and technical assistance, and similar activities have not been coordinated with other supporting programs, making it difficult for the facilitator task as a program facilitator. Empowering the poor through the provision of facilities, has not been able to improve the capacity of the community. The low capacity and quality of service of government apparatus from the local level to the rural level, so that the provision of facilities does not allow the involvement of the poor. A highly centralized bureaucratic system and a highly authoritarian political system that has been practiced for more than four decades in Indonesia, brings out the weaknesses of the bureaucratic character. Promotion activities in the context of empowering the poor as an activity aimed at developing responsive services, the reality has not been effective in helping facilitate the poor to access various development programs that are beneficial to improving the welfare of the poor by earning productive employment. Activities that require synergies of cooperation between institutions / organizations (Government, Private, NGOs), difficult to realize because the dominance of egoism interests of each stakeholders in addressing every village development program. It is recommended to optimize training, consultation and technical assistance activities, as well as similar activities coordinated with support programs. Provision of adequate supporting facilities that can empower the poor on an ongoing basis, and streamline promotion to develop responsive services that enable poor people to access programs.Need to pay attention to communication factor, resources, attitude, and bureaucracy structure,so asnot tohinder the smooth implementation of poverty eradication program based on empowerment society

    The development of digital technology, especially Artificial Intelligence (AI), has brought significant changes in the world of education. This technology offers a wide range of opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of learning through the personalization of materials, analysis of student data, and the automation of learning evaluations. However, the implementation of AI in education also faces a number of challenges, such as inequality of access to digital infrastructure, low technological literacy among educators, and ethical issues related to the privacy and security of student data. This study aims to analyze the potential, challenges, and implications of the use of AI in the education system through a literature study approach. The research method used is a literature review by reviewing various scientific articles, research reports, and relevant academic publications in the 2020–2025 range. The data were analyzed descriptive-analytically to identify key themes related to the use of AI in learning. The results of the study show that AI has great potential in supporting more adaptive, interactive, and individual needs-based learning of students. However, the success of its implementation is highly dependent on the readiness of digital infrastructure, the technological competence of educators, and regulations that regulate the ethical use of technology. In addition, this study emphasizes that AI should be positioned as a supporting tool in the learning process, not as a substitute for the role of teachers. Therefore, the integration of AI in education needs to be carried out in a balanced manner while maintaining humanistic values in the learning process. The findings of this research are expected to contribute to the development of more inclusive and sustainable educational technology implementation policies and strategiesPerkembangan teknologi digital, terutama Kecerdasan Buatan (AI), telah membawa perubahan signifikan di dunia pendidikan. Teknologi ini menawarkan berbagai peluang untuk meningkatkan efektivitas dan efisiensi pembelajaran melalui personalisasi materi, analisis data siswa, dan otomatisasi evaluasi pembelajaran. Namun, penerapan AI dalam pendidikan juga menghadapi sejumlah tantangan, seperti ketidakmerataan akses terhadap infrastruktur digital, rendahnya literasi teknologi di kalangan pendidik, dan isu etika terkait privasi dan keamanan data siswa. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis potensi, tantangan, dan implikasi penggunaan AI dalam sistem pendidikan melalui pendekatan tinjauan literatur. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah tinjauan literatur dengan meninjau berbagai artikel ilmiah, laporan penelitian, dan publikasi akademik relevan dalam rentang tahun 2020–2025. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif-analitis untuk mengidentifikasi tema-tema kunci terkait penggunaan AI dalam pembelajaran Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kecerdasan buatan (AI) memiliki potensi besar dalam mendukung pembelajaran yang lebih adaptif, interaktif, dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan individu siswa. Namun, keberhasilan implementasinya sangat bergantung pada kesiapan infrastruktur digital, kompetensi teknologi pendidik, dan regulasi yang mengatur penggunaan teknologi secara etis. Selain itu, penelitian ini menekankan bahwa AI seharusnya diposisikan sebagai alat pendukung dalam proses pembelajaran, bukan sebagai pengganti peran guru. Oleh karena itu, integrasi AI dalam pendidikan perlu dilakukan secara seimbang sambil mempertahankan nilai-nilai humanis dalam proses pembelajaran. Temuan penelitian ini diharapkan dapat berkontribusi pada pengembangan kebijakan dan strategi implementasi teknologi pendidikan yang lebih inklusif dan berkelanjutan
