Safety aspects of turist travel
Medtem ko raziskovalci pri varnosti v turizmu največ poudarka namenijo političnim dejavnikom in terorizmu, anketiranci v naši raziskavi največje tveganje vidijo v kriminaliteti. The safety of tourist travel is one of the most important aspects in the tourism industry, playing a key role in the choice of tourist destination and in the travel experience itself. Tourism often faces various forms of security risks, such as crime, political instability, terrorism, health crises, and natural disasters, which threaten the safety of tourists and destinations and their development. The aim of the master\u27s thesis was to examine the security aspects of tourist travel, with a focus on various global trends, risk management strategies, and perceptions of security among Slovenian tourists. The empirical part of the research showed that global trends are also reflected in the perceptions of Slovenian tourists. The Slovenian residents who took part in the survey, perceive safety as a very important factor when traveling. They rated Australia and Oceania and Europe as the safest continents, while South America and Africa were rated as the most risky destinations. While researchers focus primarily on political factors and terrorism when discussing safety in tourism, respondents in our survey see crime as the greatest risk. To improve safety in tourist destinations, most respondents suggest tighter surveillance, a greater police presence, and better public lighting. Safety is understood as a shared responsibility: tourists are expected to be cautious and informed, while institutions must ensure an orderly and safe environment. Effective safety management requires cooperation between the state, the destination, the tourism industry, and the individual. Safety will become even more important in the future, so it is important to coordinate action at all levels, adapt to global circumstances, and strengthen trust between tourists and service providers
Adolescents` mental well-being and social support
Adolescents are vulnerable to developing mental health problems and mental health disorders if untreated. Various factors can influence their mental well-being, including personal, interpersonal, community and environmental factors. Interpersonal relations with family and friends may have an influence on the vulnerability of adolescents to developing mental health problems. The aim of this paper is to determine adolescents\u27 mental well-being and the correlation between adolescents\u27 mental well-being and the support of family, friends, teachers, and registered nurses. We performed a mixed-methods study. The survey method was used to collect the data among adolescents, and semi-structured interviews were conducted among adolescents, parents, teachers, decision makers, and registered nurses. A total of 2972 adolescents participated in the quantitative part of the study. The mental well-being of adolescents is positively correlated (r = 0.624) with their social support, while their mental well-being (r = −0.286) and social support (r = −0.239) decline with age. Furthermore, the perceived level of support from registered nurses did not differ significantly by age (r(2965) = −0.004, p = 0.863) or gender (W = 310 616, p = 0.903). Qualitative findings further emphasised that adolescents perceive registered nurses as important sources of advice, guidance, and emotional support, underscoring the nursing contribution to adolescent mental health promotion. The mental well-being of adolescents is related to their interactions and interpersonal relations with parents, friends, and teachers. In ensuring the mental well-being of adolescents, we must consider the multidimensional model of well-being. Adolescents\u27 mental well-being declines with age and is higher among adolescents who receive more social support. Therefore, future interventions and actions should focus on social support and interdisciplinary work

Multiparametric ▫▫ optimization of bored reinforced-concrete piles under combined loading in cohesive soils
Laterally loaded slender piles present a classic soil–structure interaction problem where pile displacements and flexural demands are governed by the mobilized lateral resistance of the surrounding soil and the axial-bending capacity of the reinforced concrete section. In response to increasing pressure to reduce embodied emissions, this study develops LAVERCO, an optimization framework for cost- and CO2-efficient design of bored reinforced-concrete piles in cohesive soils subjected to combined lateral and axial actions. The framework integrates Eurocode-based geotechnical checks with full N–M section verification of the RC pile and applies a genetic algorithm over a multi-parametric grid of lateral load, vertical load, and undrained shear strength, using economic cost and embodied CO2 as alternative single objectives. Rank-based (Spearman) sensitivity analysis quantifies how actions, soil strength, and design variables influence the optimal solutions. The results reveal two consistent geometry regimes: CO2-optimal piles are systematically longer and slimmer, while COST-optimal piles are shorter and thicker. In both cases, the objective is dominated by pile length and is reduced by higher undrained shear strengthvertical load has a moderate direct effect, while horizontal load contributes mainly through deflection and bending checks. Feasibility improves significantly in stronger clays, and CO2-optimal geometries generally incur higher costs, clarifying the trade-off between economic and environmental performance. The framework provides explicit geometry-level guidance for selecting bored pile designs that balance cost and embodied CO2 across a wide range of soil and loading conditions and can be directly applied in both preliminary and detailed designs

Analysis of security and privacy in the use of iot devices by end users
The purpose of this thesis was to analyse the awareness and behaviour of end-users when using IoT devices in terms of security and privacy, and to develop recommendations for their safer use. The study focuses on the Internet of Things, with the theoretical part presenting its operation, architecture, common vulnerabilities, and approaches to data protection.
The empirical part consisted of a survey among IoT device users, which revealed that most respondents understand the importance of security, yet are often unaware of the extent of data collection, privacy policies, and do not implement key protective measures, such as changing default passwords or enabling multi-factor authentication.
Based on the findings from the literature and empirical research, users were recommended to increase awareness, perform regular device updates, use strong passwords, and limit the sharing of personal dataand manufacturers were recommended to use secure-by-design principles, transparent communication, lightweight security protocols, and perform regular updates.
The conclusion emphasises that secure IoT usage can only be achieved through active cooperation between users and manufacturers, as well as the integration of security practices already at the device design stage
Challenges of Public Procurement in Serbia: A Case Study from the Private Sector
V magistrskem delu smo opravili celovito in kritično analizo sistema javnih naročil v Republiki Srbiji. In this master\u27s thesis, we conducted a comprehensive and critical analysis of the public procurement system in the Republic of Serbia. We started from the assumption that there are significant discrepancies between the normative framework and actual practice, which have a considerable impact on the efficiency, transparency, and legality of procurement procedures. In the theoretical part, we first presented the concept of public procurement, analyzed several key economic entities and the structure of public expenditure, and then examined in greater detail the legislative framework in Serbia and its comparison with the system of the European Union, which Serbia aspires to join in the long term. Special attention was paid to identifying the main challenges of the system, such as political influence, corruption, lack of transparency, and insufficient oversight. Furthermore, we focused on the comparison between the public and private sectors, considering the latter as a potential source of good practices and alternative approaches to project implementation. The empirical part of this master’s thesis is based on a case study of a successfully implemented project within a private company in Serbia. The company’s owner, through a semi-structured interview, presented key organizational, supervisory, and personnel practices that, in his view, significantly contribute to the successful execution of projects. He placed particular emphasis on issues of accountability, oversight, contractor selection, corruption prevention, and the importance of ethical standards. Based on his experience, he provided concrete recommendations that could, with appropriate adjustments, be transferred to the public procurement system. The findings suggest that a well-considered transfer of selected practices from the private sector could contribute to a more efficient, transparent, and accountable public procurement system in Serbia
Money laundering in the real estate sector during the housing crisis in ljubljana
This thesis addresses the phenomenon of money laundering in the real estate sector during the housing crisis in Ljubljana. The aim of the research is to determine whether market conditions characterised by high prices, limited supply and intense demand, create opportunities for integrating illicit funds into legitimate financial flows. The theoretical part outlines the stages of money launderingplacement, layering, and integration and describes common typologies such as the use of shell companies, fictitious loans, and offshore structures. A qualitative research approach is applied, supported by secondary data analysis and basic quantitative processing. Data is collected from official sources and the land registry for four real estate projects in Ljubljana. Based on land registry extracts, ownership structures, the presence of mortgages, and the type of buyers were analysed. The share of units purchased without mortgages is calculated as an indicator of potential risk. It is found that a significant number of units were bought without financing, often by legal entities. Although direct evidence of criminal activity could not be obtained, the patterns observed suggest the need for further research and greater transparency in the real estate sector. The findings conclude that the housing crisis in Ljubljana with its social and economic effects, also poses a systemic risk that could be exploited by persons with illicit capital
