    Numerical analysis of cable tray load capacity and comparison with experimental results

    Magistrsko delo obravnava določitev nosilnosti kabelskih polic z uporabo metode končnih elementov. Razviti so bili geometrijski modeli različnih širin, pri čemer so bile za poenostavitev analize uvedene določene idealizacije. Na modelih so bile izvedene linearno-statične simulacije, pri katerih je bil poudarek na ustrezni določitvi robnih pogojev in obremenitev, skladno z zahtevami standarda SIST EN 61537:2007. Rezultati numeričnih simulacij so bili primerjani z eksperimentalnimi meritvami, kar je omogočilo oceno natančnosti in zanesljivosti uporabljene metodologije. V zaključku so podane smernice in priporočila za nadaljnje raziskave ter nadgradnjo pristopa.The master\u27s thesis deals with determining the loading capacity of cable trays using the finite element method. Geometric models of different widths were developed, with certain idealizations introduced to simplify the analysis. Linear static simulations were performed on the models, with an emphasis on the appropriate determination of boundary conditions and loads in accordance with the requirements of the SIST EN 61537:2007 standard. The results of the numerical simulations were compared with experimental measurements, which enabled an assessment of the accuracy and reliability of the methodology used. Finally, guidelines and recommendations for further research and upgrading of the approach are provided

    V diplomski nalogi je predstavljen razvoj in oblikovanje rekreacijskega vozila s poudarkom na optimizaciji notranje postavitve, stabilizacijskega sistema in električni samooskrbi. Razvili smo modularno notranjo opremo ki omogoča prilagodljivost in maksimalno izrabo prostora. Uporabili smo računalniško podprto konstruiranje(CAD) v programu Creo. Električni sistem temelji na Mastervolt inverterju, ki zagotavlja avtonomno napajanje. Rezultati kažejo, da vozilo ponuja visoko funkcionalnost in udobje za uporabnike, hkrati pa omogoča energetsko neodvisnost in stabilno uporabo na različnih terenihThe thesis presents the development and design of a recreational vehicle, focusing on optimizing the interior layout, stabilization system, and electrical self-sufficiency. A modular interior design was developed to ensure adaptability and maximum space utilization. Computer-aided design (CAD) was used in the Creo software. The electrical system is based on a Mastervolt inverter, providing autonomous power supply. The results indicate that the vehicle offers high functionality and comfort for users while ensuring energy independence and stable operation across various terrain

    V magistrski nalogi je predstavljeno konstruiranje protivlomnih avtomatskih drsnih vrat z oznako pl330b. Nova serija protivlomnih avtomatskih drsnih vrat pl330 podjetja Doorson združuje dobro izolativnost, varnost in eleganten dizajn. Ker pa se je na trgu pojavila želja po vratih z boljšimi varnostnimi lastnostmi, smo se znotraj podjetja odločili za razvoj serije pl330b. Ta serija ima ojačano konstrukcijo, dodatne zaklepe in dosega varnostni standard RC3. Naš cilj je bil ustvariti vrata, ki bodo funkcionalna, estetsko dovršena in odporna proti vlomom, s čimer bomo ostali korak pred konkurenco in zadovoljili potrebe naših strank.The master\u27s thesis presents constructing an anti-burglary automatic sliding doors pl330b series. The new anti-burglary automatic sliding doors pl330 series from Doorson combines good insulation, safety and elegant design. However, since there was a desire on the market for doors with better security features, we decided to develop the pl330b series. This series has reinforced construction and additional locks and meets the RC3 safety standard. Our goal was to create functional, aesthetically pleasing and burglar-resistant doors, keeping us one step ahead of the competition and meeting the needs of our customers

    Cene energentov po svetu strmo rastejo. Tudi v Šaleški dolini in v Komunalnem podjetju Velenje smo se začeli soočati z težavo višanja cen energije. Prav tako so okoljevarstvene zahteve vedno višje. Aktualna problematika v Šaleški dolini je zaprtje Premogovnika Velenje. S tem so se odprla vprašanja glede zagotavljanja količine potrebne toplotne energije in redne dobave le-te. Prav tako je neznanka cena toplotne energije iz Termoelektrarne Šoštanj. Naslednja zahteva je nov zakon o spodbujanju rabe obnovljivih virov energije (ZSROVE) za učinkovito daljinsko ogrevanje. V tem zaključnem delu smo predstavili trenutno stanje daljinskega ogrevanja v Šaleški dolini. Nadaljevali smo z predstavitvijo razpoložljivih energetskih virov v Šaleški dolini. Sem spadajo OVE s kotlovnico na lesno biomaso in SPTE na lesno biomaso, OVE sončne energije, termična obdelava komunalnih odpadkov, odpadna toplota iz industrijskih in komunalnih sistemov, geotermalna energija in energija jezer v Šaleški dolini. Prav tako smo določili možne mikro lokacije za postavitev teh obnovljivih proizvodnih virov toplote. Potem smo pogledali možnost vgradnje hranilnikov toplotne energije v sistem daljinskega ogrevanja. Pojavljajo se potrebe po hitri regulaciji elektroenergetskih omrežij, ki jih ustvarja povečana proizvodnja električne energije iz OVE. Podrobno smo si ogledali možnost koriščenja nizkocenovne električne energije s hitro odzivnimi in visoko napetostnimi elektrodnimi kotli. Preračunali smo potrebne moči in jih integrirali v sistem daljinskega ogrevanja v Šaleški dolini.Energy prices around the world are rising. Even in Šaleška dolina, and thus in the communal company Velenje, we started to face the problem of rising energy prices. Also, the environmental protection requirements are higher and higer. The current issue in the Šaleška Valley is the closing of the Velenje Coal Mine. This opened up questions regarding the guaranteed amount of required thermal energy and the regular supply of only this. The price of thermal energy from the Šoštanj Power Plant is also unknown. The next requirement here is a new law on promoting the use of renewable energy sources (ZSROVE) for efficient district heating. In this final part, we presented the current state of district heating in the Šaleška Valley. We continued with the presentation of the available energy sources in the Šaleška Valley. These include RES with a wood biomass boiler and wood biomass CHP, solar RE, thermal treatment of municipal waste, waste heat from industrial and communal systems, geothermal energy, energy from the lakes in the Šaleška Valley. We have also determine possible micro-locations for the installation of these renewable heat production sources. Then we looked at the possibility of installing thermal energy storage in the district heating system. Due to the need for rapid regulation of power networks, which is created by the increased production of electricity from RE. We looked in detailed at the possibility of using low-cost electricity with fast-response and high-voltage electrode boilers. We calculated the required power and integrate it into the district heating system in the Šaleška Valley

    Uporaba virtualne resničnosti v kemiji in kemijskem inženirstvu

    The aim of the Master’s thesis was to evaluate the current and potential applications of virtual reality technology in chemistry and chemical engineering, as well as to evaluate the use of virtual reality for educational purposes. First, we made an overview of the numerous applications of the virtual reality technology with a specific focus on its current use in the chemistry and chemical engineering fields, including research and educational environments as well as industrial applications. It was found that the use of virtual reality technology is growing in all areas, with training, remote collaboration, and interactive learning being the most prominent fields. To assess the effectiveness of virtual reality as an educational tool, we performed a study with second year students of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering programs at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, University of Maribor. Students were divided into two groups, one undertaking a training on the proper use of fume hoods in virtual reality and the other group performing the same training in a real chemical laboratory. Students from both groups took a knowledge evaluation test and a personal experience survey after the training. The test results have shown that virtual reality can be just as effective or potentially even more effective than conventional training in the chemical laboratory. The average score of the virtual reality group was 2.5% higher than that of the group performing conventional training in a chemical laboratory, although we did not confirm a statistically significant difference between the scores. We also prepared a personal experience survey to evaluate the students’ personal experience and interest in using virtual reality as an educational tool. It was observed that there is a lot of enthusiasm from the students for the use of virtual reality technology and that the group performing the training in virtual reality reported a significantly better subjective experience scores, and due to fewer reported distractions remained more focused on the training content compared to the group that underwent the training in a real chemical laboratory. The results of the Master’s thesis suggest that virtual reality presents an effective alternative to traditional live training methods. Future research should be conducted with larger groups focusing especially on the long-term retention of the acquired knowledge and on the application in real-world scenarios, such as laboratory exercises, device training, and safety procedures training, to fully reveal the potential of virtual reality for educational purposes.Namen zaključnega dela je bil preučiti trenutno in potencialno uporabo tehnologije navidezne resničnosti v kemiji in kemijskem inženirstvu ter oceniti učinkovitost navidezne resničnosti v izobraževalnem okolju. Najprej smo naredili pregled številnih aplikacij tehnologije navidezne resničnosti s posebnim poudarkom na njeni trenutni uporabi na področju kemije in kemijskega inženirstva, vključno z raziskovalnimi in izobraževalnimi okolji ter industrijskimi aplikacijami. Ugotovili smo, da se uporaba tehnologije navidezne resničnosti povečuje na vseh področjih, pri čemer so trenutno najizrazitejši primeri uporabe usposabljanje, sodelovanje na daljavo in interaktivno učenje. Da bi preverili učinkovitost navidezne resničnosti kot izobraževalnega orodja, smo izvedli študijo s študenti drugega letnika Kemije in Kemijskega inženirstva na Fakulteti za kemijo in kemijsko tehnologijo Univerze v Mariboru. Študentje so bili razdeljeni v dve skupini, pri čemer je ena skupina opravila usposabljanje o pravilni uporabi digestorija v navidezni resničnosti, druga pa je enako usposabljanje opravila v resničnem kemijskem laboratoriju. Študentje v obeh skupinah so po usposabljanju rešili vprašalnik za preverjanje osvojenega znanja in vprašalnik za oceno izkušnje oziroma zadovoljstva z usposabljanjem. Rezultati vprašalnikov so pokazali, da je virtualna resničnost lahko enako oz. celo bolj učinkovita od običajnega laboratorijskega usposabljanja. Povprečni rezultat skupine, ki je opravila usposabljanje v navidezni resničnosti, je bil za 2,5 % boljši od skupine, ki je opravila konvencionalno usposabljanje v kemijskem laboratoriju, čeprav med rezultatoma obeh skupin nismo potrdili statistično značilne razlike. Pripravili smo tudi vprašalnike za oceno izkušnje oz. zadovoljstva z usposabljanjem, s katerimi smo preverili osebno izkušnjo in zanimanje študentov za uporabo navidezne resničnosti v izobraževalne namene. Ugotovili smo, da je med študenti veliko navdušenja nad tehnologijo navidezne resničnosti in da so študentje v skupini, ki je opravila usposabljanje v navidezni resničnosti, višje ocenili subjektivno izkušnjo ter zaradi manj motečih dejavnikov dlje časa ostali osredotočeni za podano vsebino v primerjavi s skupino, ki je opravila tradicionalno usposabljanje v živo v kemijskem laboratoriju. Rezultati magistrskega dela kažejo, da navidezna resničnost predstavlja učinkovito alternativo tradicionalnim metodam usposabljanja v živo. V prihodnje bi bilo smiselno opraviti raziskave z večjim številom udeležencev, ki bi se osredotočale na preverjanje dolgoročno osvojenega znanja po usposabljanju v navidezni resničnosti in na uporabo v realnih scenarijih, kot so laboratorijske vaje, usposabljanja za uporabo naprav in usposabljanja o varnostnih postopkih, kar bi dodatno razkrilo potencial tehnologije navidezne resničnosti na področju izobraževanja

    Planning of the drying and packaging process in a company producing synthetic materials

    V magistrskem delu je predstavljena prenova procesa sušenja in pakiranja v proizvodnji umetnih mas. Trenutni proces je zaradi nepotrebnih korakov in ročnega dela neučinkovit. Predlagamo avtomatizirano rešitev, ki vključuje dva avtonomna mobilna robota (v nadaljevanju: AMR), valjčni transporter, strojno ovijalko in pnevmatski aplikator. Predstavili smo podrobno analizo obstoječa procesa sušenja in pakiranja izdelkov iz umetnih mas, opisali predlagano avtomatizirano rešitev, ocenili njene prednosti in stroške ter predstavili načrt prenove procesa sušenja in pakiranja danih izdelkov. Cilj avtomatizacije je izboljšati natančnost procesa sušenja, zmanjšati izmet materiala, skrajšati časovne izgube in znižati stroške dela. Pričakujemo, da bo avtomatizacija povečala produktivnost, zmanjšala odpadke, izboljšala varnost delavcev in znižala stroške. AMR vozička bosta prevzela oskrbo proizvodnje s pomožnim materialom, prevoz transportno skladiščne enote (v nadaljevanju: TSE) na valjčni transporter in uskladiščenje TSE. Valjčni transporter bo TSE transportiral skozi sušilne prostore, s čimer se bo izločila potreba po ročnem delu. Strojna ovijalka bo omogočila učinkovito avtomatsko pakiranje TSE, medtem ko bo pnevmatski aplikator natančno in zanesljivo etiketiral TSE. Magistrsko delo ponuja vpogled v prenovo proizvodnih procesov v proizvodnji z uporabo sodobnih rešitev avtomatizacije procesov v intralogistiki.The master\u27s thesis presents the renewal of the drying and packaging process in the production of synthetic resins. The current process is inefficient due to unnecessary steps and manual work. We propose an automated solution that includes two autonomous mobile robots, a roller conveyor, a machine wrapper and a pneumatic applicator. We presented a detailed analysis of the existing drying and packaging process of plastic products, described the proposed automated solution, assessed its advantages and costs, and presented a plan for renovating the drying and packaging process of the given products. The goal of automation is to improve process accuracy, reduce material waste, reduce time losses and lower labor costs. We expect automation to increase productivity, reduce waste, improve worker safety and lower costs. Autonomous mobile robots trolleys will take over the supply of production with auxiliary material, transport of the transport and storage unit to the roller conveyor and storage of the transport and storage unit. A roller conveyor will transport the transport and storage unit through the drying rooms, eliminating the need for manual labor. The machine wrapper will enable efficient automatic packaging of transport and storage unit, while the pneumatic applicator will accurately and reliably label transport and storage unit.     Ločilno stikalo z varovalko STV D02 podjetja ETI Elektroelement, d. o. o., je na trgu prisotno že več kot 25 let. Zaradi spreminjajočih se zahtev in želja trga je potrebna prenova izdelka. Magistrsko delo obravnava rekonstrukcijo stikalnega mehanizma za novi STV D02. Analizirali smo trenutno stanje, trg in konkurenčne naprave. Glavna zahteva pri konstrukciji novega mehanizma je bila preklop stikala neodvisno od uporabnika. Razvili smo pet konceptov stikalnih mehanizmov, dva izločili, preostale tri pa izdelali kot prototipe s pomočjo 3D tiskanja. Po testiranju prototipov smo izbrali najustreznejšega.The fuse disconnector STV D02 by ETI Elektroelement, d. o. o., has been on the market for over 25 years. Due to changing market demands and preferences, the product requires a complete overhaul. This master\u27s thesis addresses the reconstruction of the switching mechanism for the new fuse disconnector. We analyzed the current state, market, and competing devices. The main requirement for the new mechanism\u27s design was a user-independent switch operation. We developed five conceptual switching mechanisms, eliminated two, and used the remaining three to create prototypes using 3D printing. After testing the prototypes, we selected the most suitable one

    Optimizacija delovanja UWB algoritma za iskanje prve poti na namenskem DSP-ju

    The aim of the thesis was to optimize the UWB first path search algorithm performance on a dedicated DSP. Development was focused on enabling various optimizations tech- niques of the DSP architecture. Insights into how the CIR is correlated, how the FP algo- rithm determines the actual FP are presented. The purpose of optimizing the FP algorithm was to improve the performance and lower the power consumption of the UWB system. The highly optimized DSP architecture contains numerous optimization techniques that needed to be discovered. With the optimization techniques provided by the DSP architec- ture, we were able to boost the FP algorithm performance by a significant amount, with potential for further enhancements.Magistrsko delo opisuje postopek optimizacije delovanja algoritma UWB prve poti na namenskem digitalnem signalnem procesorju. Algoritem prve poti je namenjen iskanju prvega signala, ki mora biti višji od definiranega praga šuma in je potencialen kandidat za izračun časa preleta, ki je pomemben za izračun razdalje med napravami. Običajno je signal, ki ima največjo moč tudi signal prve poti, vendar se lahko zgodi, da je moč signala prve poti manjša od moč signala, ki je prepotoval daljšo razdaljo, predvsem v primerih, ko si napravi UWB izmenjujeta pakete UWB brez neposredne vidne linije. Zato je pomembno dobro opredeliti metode, ki omogočajo prepoznavo signala prve poti, to so običajno zaupni podatki podjetij, ki razvijajo take sisteme. Ugotovili smo, da so optimizacije pokazale visoko učinkovitost izvedbe algoritma prve poti.     Design and manufacture of a machine for attaching the interface to the product frame

    Magistrsko delo predstavlja izdelavo stroja za pritrjevanje vmesnika na ogrodje. Zahteve za stroj smo si določili v naprej. Na podlagi teh zahtev smo zgradili stroj, ki učinkovito opravlja svojo funkcijo. Uporabljene metode vključujejo načrtovanje stroja v 3D programskem okolju, elektro vezavo in risanje načrta v programskem okolju EPLAN, načrtovanje programskega krmilja za Siemens krmilje ter izdelavo ocene tveganja po standardu SIST EN ISO 12100. Naloga je bila izvedena s pomočjo podjetja, katero je tudi glavni izvajalec tega projekta. Rezultat magistrske naloge je celovit in delujoč stroj, ki se je izkazal kot odličen izdelek.The master\u27s thesis presents the development of a machine for attaching an interface to a framework. The requirements for the machine were predetermined. Based on these requirements, we constructed a machine that efficiently performs its function. The methods used include designing the machine in a 3D software environment, electrical wiring and drafting plans in the EPLAN software environment, designing a control program for Siemens controller, and conducting a risk assessment according to the SIST EN ISO 12100 standard. The project was carried out with the assistance of a company that is also the main contractor for this project. The result of the master\u27s thesis is a comprehensive and functional machine that has proven to be an excellent product

    V diplomskem delu smo predstavili izdelano mobilno aplikacijo, ki omogoča varno prijavo v informacijske sisteme s pomočjo zalednega dela. Za prijavo se uporablja namensko napravo YubiKey, na kateri se hrani podpisan certifikat. V praktičnem delu smo podrobneje predstavili grafični vmesnik mobilne aplikacije, prav tako smo opisali postopek konfiguracije digitalnega certifikata in prijavo z njim v informacijski sistem.In the thesis, we presented a developed mobile application that enables secure login to information systems with the help of the backend. For login, a dedicated YubiKey device is used, on which the signed certificate is stored. In the practical part, we presented the graphic interface of the mobile application in more detail, and we also described the process of configuring the digital certificate and logging into the information system with it
