    The relationship between work-life balance, job satisfaction, and burnout

    V magistrski nalogi smo raziskovali povezavo med usklajevanjem poklicnega in zasebnega življenja, zadovoljstvom pri delu in izgorelostjo. Namen naloge je bil ugotoviti, kako so ti trije dejavniki med seboj povezani ter kakšen vpliv imajo na zaposlene in organizacije. Področje raziskave je zelo aktualno, saj so zaposleni vse pogosteje podvrženi pritiskom hitrega tempa dela, kar otežuje doseganje ravnovesja med službenimi in zasebnimi obveznostmi ter povečuje tveganje za izgorelost. V teoretičnem delu smo predstavili ključne pojme, opredelili zadovoljstvo pri delu in izgorelost ter opisali različne pristope k usklajevanju poklicnega in zasebnega življenja. Poudarili smo tudi posledice, ki jih ima neravnovesje na posameznika in organizacijo, ter predstavili ukrepe, ki jih lahko delodajalci uporabijo za zmanjšanje negativnih učinkov. V empiričnem delu smo izvedli kvantitativno raziskavo s pomočjo anketnega vprašalnika. Na osnovi pregleda literature smo oblikovali tri hipoteze: da usklajevanje poklicnega in zasebnega življenja pozitivno vpliva na zadovoljstvo pri delu, da boljše usklajevanje zmanjšuje izgorelost in da višje zadovoljstvo pri delu zmanjšuje izgorelost. Rezultati so pokazali, da so vse tri hipoteze potrjene. Najmočnejša povezava se je izkazala med zadovoljstvom pri delu in izgorelostjo, kar potrjuje, da je zadovoljstvo eden ključnih zaščitnih dejavnikov pred negativnimi posledicami dolgotrajnega stresa. Na podlagi rezultatov lahko zaključimo, da je usklajevanje poklicnega in zasebnega življenja pomemben pogoj za zadovoljstvo zaposlenih in za preprečevanje izgorelosti. Organizacije bi zato morale zaposlenim omogočiti več fleksibilnosti pri opravljanju dela, spodbujati kulturo razumevanja in zagotavljati pogoje, ki krepijo zadovoljstvo pri delu. Takšni ukrepi so pomembni ne le za dobro počutje posameznika, temveč tudi za dolgoročno uspešnost organizacij. Naloga tako prispeva k boljšemu razumevanju povezanosti obravnavanih dejavnikov in potrjuje, da so ti odnosi močni tudi v slovenskem delovnem okolju. Rezultati nudijo uporabne smernice za prakso in izhodišče za nadaljnje raziskave, ki bi lahko poglobile razumevanje razlik med panogami in poklicnimi skupinami ter prispevale k oblikovanju še bolj učinkovitih ukrepov za zmanjšanje izgorelosti in povečanje zadovoljstva zaposlenih.In this master’s thesis, we examined the relationship between work–life balance, job satisfaction, and burnout. The aim of the study was to determine how these three factors are interconnected and what impact they have on employees and organizations. The topic is highly relevant, as employees are increasingly exposed to the pressures of a fast-paced work environment, which makes it difficult to achieve a balance between professional and personal responsibilities and increases the risk of burnout. The theoretical part of the thesis presents key concepts, defines job satisfaction and burnout, and describes different approaches to achieving work–life balance. We also emphasized the consequences of imbalance for both individuals and organizations, as well as the measures employers can implement to reduce negative effects. In the empirical part, we conducted a quantitative study using a survey questionnaire. Based on the literature review, we formulated three hypotheses: that work–life balance positively influences job satisfaction, that better balance reduces burnout, and that higher job satisfaction decreases burnout. The results confirmed all three hypotheses. The strongest relationship was found between job satisfaction and burnout, indicating that satisfaction is a key protective factor against the negative effects of long-term stress. Based on the findings, we conclude that work–life balance is an important condition for employee satisfaction and for preventing burnout. Organizations should therefore provide employees with greater flexibility in performing their work, foster a culture of understanding, and create conditions that enhance job satisfaction. Such measures are essential not only for the well-being of individuals but also for the long-term success of organizations. This thesis contributes to a better understanding of the interconnections between the studied factors and confirms that these relationships are strong within the Slovenian work environment as well. The results provide practical guidelines for organizations and offer a basis for further research, which could explore differences between industries and occupational groups and support the development of more effective measures to reduce burnout and increase employee satisfaction

Kljub temu proces zdravljenja ključno vpliva na kakovost življenja otrok in njihovih družin. Namen zaključnega dela je ugotoviti, kakšna je kakovosti življenja otrok z ALL med zdravljenjem in poudariti dejavnike, ki nanjo vplivajo.Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is the most common malignancy in children, and its treatment has significantly improved over the past decades.     Influence of optimised pollen extract on metabolic activity of WM-266-4 melanoma cells

    Melanom je eno izmed najtežje ozdravljivih rakavih obolenj, saj so človeške melanomske celice znane kot ene najbolj agresivnih rakastih celic. Znanstveniki po celem svetu si zato prizadevajo, da bi razvili zdravilo, ki bi lahko ozdravilo to agresivno obliko raka. Dosedanje študije so pokazale, da imajo naravne spojine, med njimi sekundarni metaboliti, najdeni v naravnih materialih oz. proizvodih, tudi v čebeljem cvetnem prahu, citotoksični, antiproliferativni ter kemopreventivni učinek na različne rakave celične linije in so vključene v veliko klinično odobrenih zdravil proti raku. S pomočjo različnih ekstrakcijskih metod (ultrazvočna ekstrakcija, ekstrakcija po Soxhletu, superkritična ekstrakcija, vroča maceracija in hladna maceracija) smo pridobili ekstrakte cvetnega prahu s 70-odstotnim etanolom kot topilom in jim določili vsebnost totalnih fenolov, proantocianidinov in antioksidantov. Z računalniškim programom Design Expert smo optimirali pogoje ultrazvočne ekstrakcije in raztopine različnih koncentracij teh ekstraktov nanesli na melanomske celice. Rezultati so pokazali, da so vsi ekstrakti vplivali na zaviranje rasti rakavih celic, saj so zaustavili njihovo delitev, vendar opazimo signifikantno zmanjševanje metabolne aktivnosti rakastih celic pri koncentracijah med 0,05 mg/mL in 0,5 mg/mL.Melanoma is one of the hardest types of cancer(s) to treat because melanoma cells are known as some of the most aggressive cancer cells in existence. That is why scientists all over the world are striving to develop a cure for this particularly ugly and aggressive cancer. Studies up to now have shown that natural compounds, which include secondary metabolites found in natural materials/products (even in bee pollen), have cytotoxic, antiproliferative, and chemopreventive effects on various cancer cell lines and are consequently incorporated into many clinically approved oncology (anti-cancer) drugs. With the help of various different extraction methods (ultrasonic extraction, Soxhlet extraction, supercritical extraction and lastly hot and cold maceration) we have been able to acquire, with 70% ethanol serving as a solvent, pollen extractions- and assign to them total phenolic, proanthocyanidin and antioxidant content. With the help of the ‘Design Expert’ computer program we have optimized the conditions of ultrasonic extraction and have applied extraction solutions of different concentrations to melanoma cells. The results show that all extractions had an effect on the growth of cancer cellsthey stopped their division, however we can observe a significant reducement in cancer metabolism, when we approach concentrations between 0,05 and 0,5 mg/mL

    Technical-economic analysis to justify the investment in the renewal of intralogistics with autonomous mobile robots

    Današnje nadvse dinamično proizvodno okolje zahteva prilagodljive in učinkovito oblikovane intralogistične procese, česar se v podjetju Geberit proizvodnja d.o.o. dobro zavedajo. V podjetju Geberit proizvodnja d.o.o. proces oskrbe montažnih linij rešujejo s pomočjo vlačilcev, t. i. "milk-run" vlačilcev. Ker z obstoječim načinom oskrbe montažnih linij ne dosegajo želene učinkovitosti, so se v podjetju odločili, da proces oskrbe montažnih linij avtomatizirajo. V ta namen smo v podjetju analizirali trenutno stanje intralogističnih procesov in s postopkom sinteze združili bistvena spoznanja v predloge učinkovitejših rešitev. Na podlagi študije obstoječega stanja na realnem primeru ugotavljamo, da obstoječi način oskrbe montažnih linij ni učinkovit. Z logistično študijo smo dokazali, da uporaba avtonomnih mobilnih robotov za namen oskrbe montažnih linij v podjetju Geberit proizvodnja d.o.o. prinaša višjo produktivnost oddelka logistike.Today\u27s highly dynamic production environment requires flexible and efficiently designed intralogistics processes, which the company Geberit proizvodnja d.o.o. is well aware of. The company\u27s assembly line supply process is solved with the help of towing vehicles, e.g. “milk-run” trains. As the existing method of supplying assembly lines was not achieving the desired efficiency, the company Geberit proizvodnja d.o.o. decided to automate the assembly line supply process. To this end, the current state of intralogistics processes in the company was analysed and, through a process of synthesis, the essential insights were combined into proposals for more efficient solutions. Based on a study of the existing condition of a real example, it was concluded that the existing supply of assembly lines is not efficient. Through this logistics study, it has been proven that the use of autonomous mobile robots for the purpose of supplying assembly lines at the company Geberit proizvodnja d.o.o. results in higher productivity of the logistics department

    Magnetometer boom deployment mechanism for nanosatellites

    Nanosateliti zaradi kompaktnih dimenzij, nizke mase in stroškovne učinkovitosti postajajo vse bolj dostopni širšemu krogu organizacij in raziskovalcev. Z natančnim merjenjem zemeljskega magnetnega polja prispevajo k raziskovanju geomagnetnih pojavov in nadzoru položaja. Izziv predstavlja vpliv elektromagnetnega polja nanosatelita na odčitek magnetometra. Magistrsko delo opisuje načrtovanje in izdelavo prototipa namestitvenega mehanizma magnetometra v obliki podsistema, skladnega s standardom PC104. Podsistem je mogoče integrirati v strukturo nanosatelitov in omogoča namestitev magnetometra na razdaljo, večjo od 1 m od strukture satelita. Tako zmanjšamo vpliv elektromagnetnega polja satelita na zanemarljivo raven. V delu so predstavljeni rezultati več meritev za ovrednotenje delovanja izdelanega podsistema.Nanosatellites, characterized by compact dimensions, low mass, and cost-effectiveness, are becoming increasingly accessible to a wider range of organizations and researchers. Accurate measurement of Earth\u27s magnetic field contributes to geomagnetic research and position monitoring. The challenge lies in mitigating the impact of the nanosatellite\u27s electromagnetic field on magnetometer readings. This thesis outlines the development of magnetometer boom deployment mechanism prototype as a subsystem conforming to the PC104 standard. The subsystem, integrable into nanosatellite structures, allows magnetometer positioning at distance greater than 1 m from the satellite structure, minimizing electromagnetic impact to negligible levels.     Mechanical characterisation of brazed joints of a heat exchanger

    V tem delu smo določili vrednosti materialnih parametrov lotnih spojev toplotnega izmenjevalca, ki so namenjeni definiranju materialnih lastnosti pri numeričnih simulacijah z metodo končnih elementov. Na podlagi rezultatov statičnih nateznih testov smo določili vrednost modula elastičnosti, meje tečenja in natezne trdnosti preizkušancev lotnih spojev, prav tako pa smo podali tudi nekaj parametrov, ki opišejo plastični del krivulje σ – ε. Poleg statičnih smo izvajali tudi dinamične teste pri vedno enakem obremenitvenem razmerju in s pomočjo le – teh določili vrednosti koeficienta in eksponenta trdnosti pri utrujanju, ki sta veljavna v območju, ko delovne napetosti ne presegajo vrednosti meje tečenja. Vse pridobljene rezultate smo naknadno tudi potrdili z uporabo numeričnih analiz po metodi končnih elementov v programu Ansys, kjer smo pokazali, da se rezultati ujemajo.In this work we defined static and fatigue material parametres of a brazed joint of a heat exchanger for purposes of FEA simulations. Based on experimental results of static tesnile testing we determinated values of Young modulus, yield strength, ultimate tesnile strength and values for evaluating plasticity. In case of fatigue, the dynamic tests with the equal loading ratio were performed on brazed joint speciments. Based on results of dynamic testing we determinated fatigue coefficient and exponent for loading cases where values of an applying stress do not exceed yield strength. All the reuslts were validated with numerical FEA simulations performed in Ansys software

    Designing a new typical transformer station TP Dobležiče Pristava

    Namen magistrske naloge je prikazati način reševanja obstoječega problema v povezavi z ustreznim zagotavljanjem električne energije na distribucijskem omrežju ter oceniti realizacijo projekta z vidika končnih odjemalcev. Zaradi slabih napetostnih razmer oziroma nezadostne oskrbe z energijo se je tako projektirala nova transformatorska postaja v vasi Pristava pri Lesičnem. Temeljni rezultat magistrske naloge je predstaviti projekt postavitve nove transformatorske postaje in vseh njenih povezovalnih vodov na dotični lokaciji, v okviru česar so prikazane posamezne faze, ki vodijo do realizacije cilja projekta.The main goal of a master`s thesis is to represent a way of solving an existing problem with regard to ensuring of electrical energy on distributional network and to assess the realisation of project from the point of view of a final consumer. New transformer station was being engineered because of a bad voltage circumstances and because of insufficient supply with energy in a village Pristava pri Lesičnem. The basic result of a master`s thesis is introducing the project of setup a new transformer station and all its electric feeders in specific location, in content of representing all individual phases of development, which are leading to the ultimate aim of the project

    Potential development of remote traffic management as a tool for improving sustainability among different road users and traffic

    Diplomsko delo z naslovom "Potencialen razvoj upravljanja prometa na daljavo kot orodje za izboljšanje trajnosti med različnimi uporabniki cest in cestnega prometa" v svojih poglavjih analizira različne možnosti sodobnih tehnologij za učinkovitejše upravljanje prometa. V začetku je predstavljena vloga inovativnih rešitev – sistemi za upravljanje prometa na daljavo, umetna inteligenca in internet stvari (ang. Internet of thingsv nadaljevanju: IoT) tehnologije, ki lahko optimirajo upravljanje cestnega prometa. Skozi to je bil cilj ugotoviti, kako te tehnologije lahko pripomorejo k zmanjšanju okoljskih vplivov – emisij in porabe energije – ter k izboljšanju varnosti in pretočnosti cestnega prometa za vse uporabnike. Analizirali smo prednosti pri izboljšanju trajnosti, vključno z zmanjšanjem zastojev, emisij in nepotrebnega porabljanja virov. Prav tako je v diplomskem delu prikazano, kako lahko upravljanje na daljavo prispeva k bolj uravnoteženemu in pravičnemu delovanju cestnega omrežja, ki vključuje vse uporabnike – tako od osebnih vozil kot do javnega prevoza in pa transportnega prometa. Sklepno je bilo v diplomskem delu ugotovljeno, da sta razvoj in implementacija takšnih sistemov ključnega pomena za trajnostno prihodnost cestnega prometa – še posebej pa je to pomembno za trajnostno upravljanje mestnih in medmestnih prometnih sistemov.The thesis titled "Potential Development of Remote Traffic Management as a Tool for Improving Sustainability Among Different Road Users and Traffic" explores the possibilities of modern technologies for more efficient traffic management. The study highlights the role of innovative solutions such as remote traffic control systems, artificial intelligence, and internet of things (hereafter: IoT) technologies in optimizing road traffic. The aim is to assess how these technologies can contribute to reducing environmental impacts such as emissions and energy consumption, while enhancing safety and traffic flow for all users. The analysis emphasizes the benefits of improved sustainability, including reduced congestion, lower emissions, and decreased resource consumption. Additionally, it demonstrates how remote management can support a more balanced and equitable transportation network, encompassing all users—from private vehicles to public transport and freight transportation. In conclusion, the research indicates that the development and implementation of such systems are crucial for the sustainable future of road traffic, especially for urban and interurban transportation systems
