The Manifestation of 'Urf Concept Based on Local Wisdom in Resolving Marital Conflict Barambangan by Religious Leaders in Banjar Regency
Domestic conflicts known as "Barambangan" in Banjarese society require resolution approaches grounded in local wisdom values. This study aims to analyze the manifestation of the 'urf (customary practice) concept based on local wisdom in resolving marital conflict barambangan by religious leaders in Banjar Regency. This research employs a qualitative method with a sociological-juridical approach, involving six religious leaders from various villages in East Martapura District. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The findings reveal that the local 'urf concept manifests in three resolution stages: (1) the listening stage (mamandang), (2) the counseling stage (manasihati), and (3) the mediation stage (mampadamaikan). The local wisdom employed encompasses values such as "bahandap hati" (humility), "bakudutan" (deliberation), and "basalamatan" (prioritizing relationship safety). These findings indicate that the integration of local 'urf with Islamic principles provides effective solutions in domestic conflict resolution, achieving an 80% success rate in preventing divorce. This study contributes to the development of family conflict resolution models based on local wisdom that can be implemented within the context of Islamic family law in Indonesi
DIGITAL INHERITANCE AND LEGAL VACUUMS: IMPLICATIONS FOR LEGAL CERTAINTY IN INDONESIA
The advancement of digital technology has generated new forms of wealth known as digital assets, which possess economic value and can be inherited such as cryptocurrency wallets, monetized accounts, and cloud-based data. However, the legal system in Indonesia, both in Islamic law and in national positive law, has yet to explicitly regulate the inheritance mechanisms of these digital forms of property. This paper addresses the central issue of how digital assets are positioned within inheritance law from the perspectives of Islamic jurisprudence and Indonesian positive law, and how the absence of legal regulation affects legal certainty and the protection of heirs. This research employs a qualitative methodology with a normative and conceptual approach, incorporating the study of classical Islamic legal texts, national legislation, and global digital platform policies. The findings indicate that digital assets can be classified as māl mutaqawwim, lawfully inheritable wealth based on the objectives of Islamic law (maqāṣid al-syarīʿah), particularly within the framework of ḥifẓ al-māl (protection of property). Nonetheless, the absence of technical provisions in the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI), the Civil Code, and the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (ITE Law) creates legal uncertainty, impeding access and execution of digital inheritance by heirs. Therefore, a responsive and adaptive legal formulation is urgently needed to ensure justice and legal certainty in the inheritance of digital assets
Elements of Islamic Law in Traditional Banjar Marriage "Jujuran" Viewed from a Historical Perspective
This study examines the jujuran tradition in Banjar society, a cultural practice where the groom's family provides monetary or material gifts to the bride's family during marriage rituals. Rooted in pre-Islamic customs, jujuran persists due to its alignment with Islamic principles when practiced as a cultural tradition. Using qualitative methods, including literature review and field observations, the study highlights jujuran as a symbol of respect, wedding support, and social prestige, distinct from mahr in Islamic law. The findings underscore the significance of jujuran in fostering family bonds and preserving cultural identity amidst modern social dynamics
SEMANTIC RECONSTRUCTION OF QUR’ANIC VALUES FOR MULTICULTURAL EDUCATION
This study aims to reconstruct the meaning of multicultural education in the Qur’an through Toshihiko Izutsu’s semantic epistemology and to examine its implications for global ethical principles. Using a descriptive-analytical library research design, the study demonstrates that Izutsu’s semantic framework, comprising the identification of key concepts, basic meanings, relational meanings, historical meanings, and the Qur’anic Weltanschauung, is highly relevant for uncovering the Qur’an’s vision of multiculturalism. The analysis shows that key terms such as syuʿūban, qabāʾila, alsinatikum, and alwānikum are interconnected within a complex semantic network. This interconnection reveals a universal semantic transformation in which these terms shift from narrow pre-Qur’anic connotations to an inclusive worldview that regards ethnic, linguistic, and racial diversity as signs of divine greatness and as foundations for strengthening human relationships (li-taʿārafū), rather than as sources of division. The reconstruction of the Qur’an’s internal semantic network ultimately forms a worldview grounded in equality, dignity, and human brotherhood, where moral worth is determined by piety rather than physical or social identity. The findings further highlight that principles such as tolerance, justice, equality, and humanity emerge as inseparable components of the Qur’anic Weltanschauung, offering a strong philosophical basis for multicultural education rooted in sacred text and oriented toward collective well-bein
TRANSFORMING THE ROLE OF THE QADIRIYAH NAQSHBANDIYAH SURYALAYA ORDER IN RURAL SOCIAL SOLIDARITY
This study aims to analyze the role of the Tarekat Qadiriyah Naqsyabandiyah (TQN) Suryalaya in fostering social solidarity among the residents of Gunungmanik Village, Talaga District, Majalengka Regency. The background of this research arises from the phenomenon of weakening social bonds and moral values in rural communities as a consequence of modernization and the erosion of spiritual values. Within this context, TQN Suryalaya emerges as a Sufi movement that not only emphasizes the ritual aspects of dzikr (remembrance of God) but also performs a social function in strengthening community cohesion and the spirit of mutual cooperation (gotong royong) among villagers. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach with a sociology of religion perspective. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation of the order’s activities. The key informants consisted of TQN teachers, local administrators, community leaders, and ordinary residents. The findings indicate that the practices of daily dzikr, Monday night khotaman, and monthly manaqiban play a vital role in reinforcing social relationships, nurturing empathy, and cultivating the spirit of mutual assistance within the community. Sufi values such as ikhlas (sincerity), tawadhu’ (humility), ta‘awun (mutual help), and ukhuwah (brotherhood) serve as the moral foundation that sustains social solidarity and communal harmony in the village
Rekonstruksi Teori Hukum Informasi dalam Menghadapi Berita Palsu: Analisis Etika Media Digital Berbasis Regulasi dan Maqāṣid al-Sharīʿah
The spread of fake news in the digital era has posed complex challenges to journalism ethics, legal regulation, and social stability. Existing information laws tend to be reactive and have not integrated ethical dimensions or religious values. This study presents a new theoretical model based on maqāṣid al-sharīʿah, integrating professional ethics, positive law, and Islamic legal principles as a framework for reconstructing Media and Press Law. Using a normative-qualitative approach, this study analyzes press regulations in Indonesia, selected scientific literature, and Islamic legal doctrine—particularly the concepts of taʿzīr and maqāṣid al-sharīʿah—through thematic analysis with source selection criteria and a conceptual coding process to identify gaps between media ethics, regulations, and fiqh. This approach examines how misinformation and disinformation threaten the protection of reason (ḥifẓ al-ʿaql) and religion (ḥifẓ al-dīn), which are the core objectives of Sharia. The study's results indicate that integrating the principles of information verification (tabayyun), accountability, and public responsibility into the legal system and journalistic practices can increase resilience to disinformation. The information governance model based on maqāṣid, formulated in this study, is a conceptual contribution that aligns law enforcement with journalistic ethics, ensuring that freedom of expression remains guaranteed while upholding the collective obligation to maintain truth and justice in the digital public space. In addition, this study proposes policy indicators that translate the objectives of maqāṣid al-sharīʿah into regulatory measures that can be implemented by media institutions and state authorities, thereby building an adaptive and ethically based regulatory framework to address the threat of disinformation within the scope of Media and Press Law.Penyebaran berita palsu di era digital telah menimbulkan tantangan kompleks bagi etika jurnalisme, pengaturan hukum, dan stabilitas sosial.
Enhancing Computational Thinking and Learning Engagement through STEM-based Water Turbine Project
In today’s digital era, students face challenges in developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills essential for success in an increasingly complex world. Computational Thinking (CT) has emerged as a pivotal 21st-century skill for innovation and problem-solving. This study investigates the impact of STEM-based learning through a water turbine project on students’ CT and Learning Engagement (LE) at the secondary school level. A quasi-experimental approach with a pretest-posttest control group design was employed. The participants were 76 of 445 8th-grade students from secondary schools in Bandung, Indonesia, divided equally into experimental and control groups, each comprising 38 students. Statistical analyses using the Mann-Whitney U test on n-gain scores revealed a significant improvement in CT for the experimental group compared to the control group (U = 50.00, sig.). < 0.001, and a large effect size (r = 0.80). Similarly, LE in the experimental group increased significantly compared to the control group (U = 10.50, sig.). < 0.001, and a large effect size (r = 0.85). These results highlight that STEM learning through the water turbine project effectively enhances students’ CT and LE. This study demonstrates the potential of STEM-based approaches to foster essential 21st-century skills among secondary school students. However, further research is needed to explore its application across diverse contexts and skill areas
Pengembangan Media Scavenger Hunt Sensorial pada Pembelajaran Ekologi di PAUD Inklusi
Ecological learning in inclusive Early Childhood Education faces significant challenges, especially for children with sensory barriers such as vision, hearing, and sensory processing disorder (SPD). Learning media that can accommodate children's sensory needs is needed comprehensively and inclusively. This research aims to design a learning media based on a sensorial scavenger hunt that is inclusive and adaptive to children's sensory needs in the context of ecological learning. Using a qualitative descriptive approach and research and development methods, the media is designed through needs analysis, design, expert validation, and design improvement. The developed media successfully integrates various sensory stimuli selectively (visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory) and provides a differentiation structure to support the active participation of children with special needs. Initial validation by one expert indicates that this medium has the potential to support inclusive learning. Sensorial scavenger-hunt media contribute to inclusive learning by providing an adaptive, fun, multisensory approach and by strengthening accessibility for children with sensory barriers. This research has limitations because it only reaches the initial design and validation stages, without field implementation tests. Therefore, further research is needed to empirically test the effectiveness of media in an inclusive ECE classroom setting
