Intrusion-Alert Normalization using Attack-related Database
In the present scenario, there are various kinds of intrusion alerts which are stored using different styles and presentation having dissimilar interpretation. These alerts can be converted to single format using various protocols such as SNMP trap, syslog protocol, IDMEF, IDXP etc. The presence of different formats makes it difficult to use that together. We need the normalization process to unify alerts from a variety of security-related equipment. This article describes how to normalize alerts from several IDS and security-related equipment
Data Recording & GLCD Implementation in Tachograph
Tachograph mainly records driving, break times for the driver and crew. Speed, Distance traveled and Real time clock is also recorded. Also total distance covered and total time of vehicle crank also recorded as whole day summary. This paper mainly discusses the Data Recording & GLCD Implementation in Tachograp
Implementation of Image Compression on Virtual Instrumentation Based Platform Using LabVIEW
In this digital era, the images are being stored or transmitted through the communication channel more often. The storage capacity and the bandwidth available for transmission are limited. To utilize storage capacity and the bandwidth effectively, it is necessary to convert the original image in an efficient compressed form. The objective of image compression is to reduce redundancy of the image data in order to store or transmit data in an efficient manner. In this research work, the image compression is done by implementing DCT algorithm on Virtual Instrumentation based platform using LabVIEW.
Simulation of FPGA Implementation of Approximate Image Compression
Digital image processing encompasses processes whose inputs and outputs are images and in addition, encompasses processes that extract attributes from images. Large amount of storage capacity is required for digital images and videos. Digital imaging plays an important role in different multimedia applications such as geospatial remote sensing, transcoding, traffic cameras, homeland security etc. So while preserving the critical image information it is necessary to develop a system that produces high degree of compression. DCT (Discrete Cosine Transform) is a widely used mathematical tool in image and video compression. It is a core component in contemporary media standards such as JPEG and MPEG. Indeed, the DCT is known for its properties of decorrelation, energy compaction, separability, symmetry, and orthogonality. The image and video compression algorithm is implemented on FPGA which possesses a very low computational complexity. In this transform image and video compression is done using Virtex-V FPGA then this decompressed image and video is displayed in MATLAB as well as on VGA

Review Paper on Impact of Quarterly Results on the Share Prices of Telecommunication Sector
In today’s scenario share market will took a stand where everybody wants to invest. Everybody wants growth in their capital. They want to invest in such companies which show higher profit gains. This study will help that kind of investor who is not really aware of current status of the Telecommunication Sector companies whose share they are purchasing. There are several factors which affect the share prices. In this study trying to find out those factors related to corporate result.
The Impact of Quarterly Results on the Share Prices of Automobile Sector: An Empirical Study
This study is an effort to know the significant effect of corporate quarterly result on the share prices of automotive sectors company. The day on which company declares their corporate result i.e. the financial result, it include the balance sheet along with the profit and loss account, net sales, net profit, cash flow statements, fund flow statement. Thus before trading the investor should have a look at the financial result of the company. This study consists of the corporate quarterly result of companies taken under research and there relevant share prices. In this study automotive sectors are taken & two companies are chosen on the performance basis i.e. Bajaj Auto & Tata Motors like their profit and loss comparison of a year and previous year. Quarterly results of the companies are taken from their own websites and the concurrent share prices are taken from NSE and BSE websites
Initialization and Configuration of TINI & Java Communications API for Real-Time Embedded Networked Applications
This article addresses the challenges in installing, initializing and configuring TINI for real-time embedded networked applications. A simple technique for installing Java communications API for accessing communication ports for direct interfacing to legacy systems as well as an efficient technique for the initialization and configuration of the TINI’s serial and Ethernet ports for real-time online datalogging capabilities over a network are presented. The techniques proposed in this article are implemented to demonstrate and validate the proposed schemes. Finally, all the Java programs developed to implement and demonstrate all the techniques proposed in this article are presented.
Towards Mimicking Human Walk
Humanoid walking gaits for robots have seen significant development over the last decade. There has been continuous research going on to make the humanoid robot gait similar to that of humans. The ability of a humanoid robot to traverse completely unstructured environments with the ease of humans is a long term goal. Further research in sensors, materials, power, intelligent control, and the interactions between all these, is necessary to achieve this. In the near future there is much more work to be done for improvement of walking gaits in order to move towards this goal. This article describes the kinetics and dynamic balancing of the humanoid walk. The idea is to formulate a strategy to mimic the basic kinetics of human gait and the dynamic balancing. The main focus is on understanding the working of the gyroscopic and accelerometer sensors and their use for the dynamic balancing of the humanoids
Design of Low Cost, Easily Operable Pure Tone Digital Audiometer to measure a Person’s Hearing Ability
An audiometer is a device that can measure a person’s hearing ability, i.e. if the person’s hearing is normal or impaired in any way (various degrees of deafness). The measurement can then give an indication of what might have caused the impairment (noise, age etc.) Most people have had an ear test done at some point of their life, at school, their workplace, national service or their ENT doctor. The most commonly used scientific method used is to play low level pure tone ‘beeps’ (sine wave) at different frequencies (tone pitch) with varying levels to the test subject, and the person responds by pressing a button if the tone was heard (Bekesy Test). Audiometers whether standalone or software based are expensive, hence their non-availability in hospitals or homes or training institutions as should be the case. This motivated our team to implement a low cost but effective audiometer referred to as Audiometer 1. This turned out to be very bulky and far from intended the design. A better design using fewer components to generate more frequencies eliminates all these, therefore reduced considerable the size of circuit. The method used the internal timers of the 8051 to generate the required frequencies. A further reduction was attained by removing the power supply module and using a 5v battery required by the microcontroller instead of 5v, -5v, 12v, -12v, 15v and -15v required by different modules earlier. With all these the size of the second design is reduced considerably with attendant reduction of costs
