Connection between perceived quality of relationships in teaching teams and burnout syndrome among primary school teachers
Get PDFUčitelství je označováno za povolání se zvýšenou mírou stresu, jenž může vést až k syndromu vyhoření. Aby bylo možno předcházet vyhoření učitelů, je nutné analyzovat, co zvyšuje/snižuje míru stresu. Prezentovaná studie je součástí rozsáhlejšího výzkumu vyhoření mezi vyučujícími na základních školách. Ten měl dvě části: (1) dotazníkové šetření (n = 2394) a (2) sérii případových studií na 12 školách. Cílem prezentované studie je prozkoumat, jaká je souvislost mezi vnímanou kvalitou profesních vztahů v pedagogických týmech a syndromem vyhoření na českých základních školách. Studie porovnává data z Shirom-Melamedovy škály vyhoření, z dotazníku na kvalitu vztahů ve škole a z tematické analýz y polostrukturovaných rozhovorů. Ukazuje se, že vyučující vnímají vztahy ve svých školách spíše pozitivně a ve vztazích se cítí spokojeni. Souvislost mezi vnímanou kvalitou vztahů a syndromem vyhoření se potvrdila jako statisticky významná. Současně byly rozlišeny dvě podoby kolegiálních vztahů ve škole: vztahy pracovní a osobní; přičemž pracovní vztahy se ukazují pro celkovou spokojenost jako důležitější.Teaching is considered to be a profession with elevated stress, which can lead to burnout. To prevent burnout, it is necessary to analyze what increases the level of stress and what, on the other hand, decreases it. The presented study is part of extensive research of burnout among primary school teachers. It had two parts: (1) a questionnaire (n = 2,394) and (2) a series of case studies at 12 primary schools. The aim of the study was to explore the connection between the perceived quality of professional relationships in teaching teams and burnout syndrome at Czech primary schools. The study compared data from the Shirom-Melamed Burnout Questionnaire, a questionnaire on the quality of school relationships, and the thematic analysis of semistructured interviews. It turns out that teachers perceive the relationships at their schools rather positively and feel satisfied in their relationships. The link between the perceived quality of relationships and burnout was confirmed as statistically significant. At the same time, two forms of collegial relationships in schools were distinguished: professional and personal relationships, with the former being more important for job satisfaction
Burnout syndrome among Arab teachers in Israel in relation to selected organizational variables
Get PDFStudií, které se věnují vyhoření u pedagogických profesí, existuje velké množství, ale žádná dosud nezkoumala tento syndrom mezi učiteli arabské národnosti v Izraeli. Účelem naší studie bylo z jistit, nakolik souvisí vyhoření s různými organizačními proměnnými, jako je pracovní zátěž, kontrola, spolupracující vedení, kolegiální podpora a podobně. Dotazník vyhoření podle Maslachové, který jsme pro měření dimenzí vyhoření použili, sestává z trojice dílčích škál: emočního vyčerpání, depersonalizace a osobní výkonnosti. Dotazník vyplnilo 372 učitelek a lze konstatovat, že vykazovaly relativně vysokou míru vyhoření. Výsledky ukazují, že všechny dimenze vyhoření souvisejí se zmíněnými nezávislými proměnnými, ať pozitivně nebo negativně. Vícenásobná regresní analýza potvrdila, že dimenze vyhoření jsou proměnnými ovlivněny různě – pro emoční vyčerpání byly významnými prediktory zátěž, podíl na vedení a vztahy se žáky; pro depersonalizaci byly z jištěny jako signifikantní prediktory pouze vztahy se žáky; pro osobní výkonnost pak kontrola a vztahy se žáky.Despite the enormous amount of studies on burnout in educational professions, there are still no studies on burnout among Israeli–Arab elementary teachers. The purpose of this study was to examine how teacher burnout is related to different organizational variables such as workload, control, leadership collaboration, and collegial support. The Maslach Burnout Inventory that was used to measure the dimensions of teacher burnout consisted of three subscales: emotional exhaustion, personal accomplishment, and depersonalization. The inventory was completed by 372 (all female) teachers. The findings showed that all burnout dimensions were either positively or negatively related to independent variables. The results of multiple regression analysis indicated that the three dimensions of teacher burnout were affected differently by four predictor variables. The findings showed that workload, leadership collaboration, and student relations were significant predictors for emotional exhaustion; student relations significantly predicted burnout in depersonalization; and, finally, control and student relations were significant predictors for personal accomplishment
A preliminary quantitative study of the mysticism and religious maturity of contemporary Slavic Neopagans in Poland
Get PDFIn the article we present the results of our research on the spirituality of Slavic Neopagans in Poland. Spirituality is understood here according to the concept of mysticism described by R. W. Hood Jr. (1975). As the second main theoretical tool, we use the concept of religious maturity put forward by R. L. Dudley and R. J. Cruise (1990). A questionnaire survey, conducted online on a sample of Slavic Neopagans and Catholics, showed statistically significant differences between the groups in three out of the eight subscales of mysticism (Unifying Quality, Inner Subjective Quality and Religious Quality), while at the same time showing a lack of significant differences with respect to religious maturity. Further analysis by means of binary logistic regression made it possible to determine predictors of belonging to the group of Slavic Neopagans (75.8% of the cases). In the regression model, the separate treatment of mysticism and religious maturity turned out to be insignificant, whereas gender, age, and the interaction between religious maturity and mysticism significantly differentiated the investigated groups

Dominant features and perspectives of postmodern literature and its theoretical comprehension
Get PDFУ статті розглядається теорія та практика постмодерної літератури з акцентом на необхідності теоретичного розуміння її художньої вартості. Розглядаючи погляди філософів та історію літературних стилів (бароко, романтизм, реалізм, символізм тощо), автор вважає, що постмодерністська поетика вичерпала себе. Постмодернізм створив явища з виразними національними особливостями, що знайшло своє відображення в латиноамериканському магічному реализмі, європейському неоміфологізмі та химерній прозі, а також у творах українського "старшого" покоління, авторів-шістдесятників та пост-шістдесятників. Спроби молодших поколінь перетворилися на графоманію чи так звану "масову" літературу, що призвело до інфляції істини, краси, добра у змісті творів. Письменники вдавалися до "нового історизму" чи "метамодернізму".The article deals with the theory and practice of postmodern literature with an emphasis on the need for a theoretical understanding of its literature artistic merit. The author, with consideration of philosophers\u27 views, and the history of literary styles (Baroque, Romanticism, Realism, Symbolism, etc.), believes that postmodern poetics has exhausted itself. Postmodernism made the phenomena with distinct national features which were reflected in Latin American Magical Realism, European neo-mythologist, and chimerical prose, including the works of Ukrainian "senior" authors, as well as the Sixties, and the Post-Sixties authors. Attempts of the younger generations transformed into graphomania or so-called mass literature leading to the inflation of truth, beauty, and good in the content of works. Writers resorted to the "new historicism" or "metamodernism"
