Stanisław Lem the player : an inspiration by a fictional review of a non-existent publication
Lem\u27s The Perfect Vacuum is a collection of reviews by fictional authors of non-existent scientific papers. This includes a lecture by Alfred Testa delivered on the occasion of the Nobel Prize in Physics. It is actually a recapitulation of a cosmological concept based on the discovery of a forgotten idea of Aristides Acheropoulos to explain the silentium universi. Why is the universe silent? Why does no one answer our calls sent to the interstellar distances? Why is our search for extraterrestrial civilizations unsuccessful? In his lecture, Testa layers before the audience the fundamental questions of the relationship between mathematics and physics, an interpretation of the latest discoveries of modern cosmology, and an explanation of the physical laws of relativity theory and quantum mechanics, including the metaphysical question of why they are just that. Because Lem sets before the reader a story of scientific discovery, the opportunity is offered to take it quite seriously, not as fiction but as science, and to look at its various components through the eyes of contemporary science

Church topography of medieval Bohemia Database processing project: the current state of the research
The goal of the article is to present the database and to outline its structure, content and feasible outputs. The research background for the creation of the database is briefly mentioned, and the basic structure of the database is described along with the current state of data retrieval. The keystones of the study are samples of database outputs. They are presented from simple searching and filtering to the broader application of statistical methods, and supplemented with examples of the map presentation of topographical themes
Church topography of the city of Nitra – a new discovery
The author of this study focuses on the issue of the church topography of the city of Nitra, which has not been adequately addressed until now, as the research of the earlier history of this important Slovak city was hindered by an absence of relevant sources. The old archive of the city was destroyed by fire before 1679 and also the city and many of its sacral buildings were destroyed during the Ottoman occupation. The author focuses on the localization and patronage of key sacral objects in the privileged Lower Town (St Peter\u27s Chapel, St Andrew\u27s Church, the Monastery of the Virgin Mary, the Church of the Virgin Mary at Calvary and others). His conclusions allow us to correct the topographical map of the city and to draw up a new map of the topography of Nitra before the end of the 16th century, capturing definitively located sacral buildings in the privileged Lower Town

Implementation of The International Women\u27s Day between 1911 and 1914 in the milieu of The Austrian Social Democracy, Czech land party organizations in Moravia and Polish organizations in Teschen Silesia and Galicia
This contribution deals with establishing of the International Women\u27s Day in selected land or national organisations of social democracy before the First World War. Its primary goal is to answer, whether the introduction of the "new revolutionary holiday" in 1911 led to significant qualitative shifts in the content of women\u27s activities contrary to previous years. Did the new holiday become the most visible manifestation of the "revolutionary struggle" of the female workers\u27 socialist movement? Was the establishing of the International Women\u27s Day reflected in rhythm of socialist women\u27s organisations? Were there any differences in the land organisations of so called autonomist and centralist wing of Czech land social democracy in Moravia, social democracy in Austria, Silesia and Galicia? An integral part of this text is to outline of position of the new feast in relation to other spring memorial days in the socialistic calendar
