Influences of educational policy on the pre-service education of teachers in science and environmental education : a Latin American context
This study aims to recognize which political guidelines operate at the educational level and influence the pre-service education of teachers in science and environmental education. The research question concerns which political discourses influence the curriculum of the pre-service education of teachers in science and environmental education in Colombia. To address this question, we conducted exploratory research regarding educational policies from 1886 to 2017; these consisted of eight laws, nineteen decrees, and eight resolutions. Additionally, we made use of the document of the Colombian System of Educator Education and Policy Guidelines. Finally, in the Universidad del Valle, we studied five resolutions that guided the pre-service education of teachers in science education from 2002 to 2017. In our introduction, we discuss a range of theoretical influences, such as of the World Bank and Western European thought, in education policy discourses that are subsequently supported by the results of our research. Our findings help to understand how scientific and environmental education knowledge could, in response to the educational policy, co-exist or compete with each other for placement
Stories of teachers\u27 identity : between personal and professional experience
Teacher identity is one of the key factors influencing the form and quality of educational processes. The aim of our literature review is an analysis of research on teachers\u27 narrative identity in primary and secondary education. We used the Web of Science database and selected studies from 2010–2020 in English. The analysis shows that the area of teacher identity can be viewed from the points of personal and professional identity and their interplay. The data about teacher identity were collected mostly as narratives showing teachers\u27 experience of their profession and their selves. Professional identity is investigated in terms of diversity in classroom discourse, curriculum, and professional development. Research on a teachers\u27 personal identity focuses primarily on gender, parenting, sexual orientation, ethnicity, culture, political orientation, and national identity. Olší, Nusperg, Růžodol : names of some woody plants in the chosen Czech place names
Publikace si klade za cíl shromáždit česká, moravská a slezská místní jména, jež odrážejí názvy stromů, keřů a polokeřů. Stromy a keře, zejména ty samostatně rostoucí, přitahují pozornost, a tak odnepaměti sloužily k určení polohy, směru či k orientaci v terénu. Právě místa nazvaná podle dřevin jsou v knize mapována a s nimi související lokality obcí jsou souhrnně zaneseny do veřejných online map, které nabízejí data k dalšímu použití. Zaznamenaná data je ale třeba interpretovat obezřetně, neboť vlastní jména se při užívání chovají poměrně specificky. Jejich úkolem není zprostředkovat obraz minulé ani současné krajiny, mohou však napovědět minulý a současný vztah obyvatel k ní. ,The aim of the publication is to list the chosen Czech, Moravian and Silesian place names which reflect the names of trees, bushes and shrubs. Trees and bushes, especially solitary ones, have drawn people\u27s attention for centuries, for which reason they have served mainly for specifying location, direction or orientation in an area. The book contains the list of some places named after woody plants. In addition, the related municipal locations are recorded in the form of public online maps for the further use of readers. All gathered data must be treated with caution, because the proper names show a specific linguistic characteristic. The author explains that the purpose of the selected proper names is not to transmit an image of the past or contemporary landscape, but she stresses that the proper names themselves can help a great deal to reveal either a past or contemporary mutual relationship between the landscape and its inhabitants

The fate of the formal method in Slovak literary studies
This paper maps the reception of Russian formalism in Slovak literary studies in the 20th century. It discusses the historical and cultural context of the 1930s when Slovak literary scholars came into contact with the formal method. The interest of Slovak scholars in formalism was connected with their efforts to explore the foundations of structuralism and to contribute to the development of the new structuralist theory. The political situation in the country in the 1940s and the 1950s was not favourable to the formalist/structuralist approach to literature. Slovak literary studies suffered under ideological constraints. Formalism was officially repudiated by the wartime Slovak State as well as the subsequent communist regime. In the 1960s, Slovak structuralism started to flourish anew and interest in formalism was briefly revived until it was once more suppressed by the political establishment. Structuralism was rehabilitated after the Velvet Revolution of 1989. Nevertheless, at that time, the structuralist initiative had already lost the momentum to stimulate the development of literary theory.Príspevok mapuje recepciu ruského formalizmu v slovenskej literárnej vede 20. storočia. Rozoberá historický a kultúrny kontext 30. rokov, keď slovenskí literárni vedci prišli do styku s formálnou metódou. Záujem slovenských vedcov o formalizmus súvisel s ich úsilím preskúmať základy štrukturalizmu a prispieť k rozvoju novej štrukturalistickej teórie. Politická situácia v krajine nebola v 40. a 50. rokoch priaznivá pre formalistický/štrukturalistický prístup k literatúre. Slovenská literárna veda trpela ideologickými obmedzeniami. Formalizmus bol oficiálne zapudený vojnovým Slovenským štátom, ako aj následným komunistickým režimom. V 60. rokoch začal slovenský štrukturalizmus znova prekvitať a záujem o formalizmus sa krátko na to oživil, až kým ho opäť nepotlačil politický establishment. Po Nežnej revolúcii v roku 1989 bol štrukturalizmus rehabilitovaný. V tom čase však už štrukturalistický prístup stratil hybnú silu stimulovať rozvoj literárnej teórie
