Review: Andrew Gabriel’s Book The Lord is the Spirit
One of the most valuable contributions to this work of Andrew Gabriel in The Lord is the Spirit is to reveal its limitation of the classical theism which is heavily Christo-centric. He thoroughly examines from the ancient theologians including Thomas Aquinas to contemporary theologians including Karl Barth and Jurgen Moltman in order to demonstrate the lack of or insufficient reference to the presence of the Spirit in the discourse of the doctrine of God

The Spirit and the Doctrine of God: On Gendered Language, Violence, and the Trinity and Philosophy
Gabriel focuses on the issues of using gendered language for God, the relationship of the Spirit and violence, and the adequacy of engaging the doctrine of the Trinity in response to more philosophical approaches to the attributes of God. He concludes by noting areas for future research. This paper is a response to a panel discussion by Don Schweitzer, HyeRan Kim-Cragg, and Jeromey Martini of Andrew K. The Early Hymnody of the Apostolic Pentecostal Movement
Abstract First generation Apostolic (Oneness) Pentecostals, like their Trinitarian counterparts, were skeptical of formal creeds and systematic theology. Nevertheless, such sentiments did not prevent pioneers of the Apostolic Pentecostal movement in the United States from developing a theologically laden hymnody in response to its distinct God-narrative. To make this case I will survey the earliest Apostolic Pentecostal collection of songs found in The Bridegroom Songs hymnal published by the first legally recognized Apostolic Pentecostal organization in the United States, the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World (PAW). Using the hymnal I will review the early hymnody and reflect on how the earliest practitioners used song to express their re-visioned construal of christology, pneumatology, soteriology, and eschatology. The study will close with a discussion of the implications for the PAW abandoning their distinct hymnody in favor of generic praise songs
