    Bantul Integrated Sirine System (BISS) as a Bantul Regency Preparedness in Dealing with Tsunami Hazard

    Bantul Regency is directly adjacent to the Indian Ocean and has a long coastline of 17 km (Marine and Fishery Service of Bantul Regency, 2017). There are at least 3 sub-districts with 11 coastal villages in Bantul Regency directly adjacent to the Indian Ocean. These sub-districts include Kretek, Sanden and Srandakan sub-districts. That is, there are 11 villages from 3 sub-districts in Bantul Regency directly exposed to tsunami threat from the Indian Ocean. There are the uncertainty of tsunami information in community. an Early Warning System (EWS) is needed to reduce the risk of a tsunami disaster and improve the existing evacuation system in the southern coastal area of Bantul District. With the information clarity of the tsunami disaster then the evacuation process will be more tersistem and neatly so that the panic of citizens will be reduced when the symptoms of a disaster occurred. this study has the objectives of (1) Identifying BISS as a means of disseminating tsunami early warning spreaders (2) Identifying the influence of BISS in improving community preparedness of Bantul Regency in facing the threat of tsunami disaster. The result show that Bantul Integrated Sirine System (BISS) is one form of tsunami early warning system built in Bantul Regency using sedrhana technology which is independently assembled by Bantul Regency and utilize the existence of community settlement location in tsunami early warning dissemination. The sustainability of tsunami early warning is certainly expected by all parties. Because the positive impact of this innovation is very important in reducing the risk of tsunami disaster. Education sector is no exemption with geospatial being taught in all education institutions, secondary or tertiary. In geography education, tourism courses are among courses that employ geospatial in their teaching and learning material to define the data collection and associate the data with technology which has geographic and locational component.  Coastal ecotourism, for example, utilize geospatial in its management where geographic information can be stored in layers and integrated with geographic software program. The information can then be created, stored, manipulated, analyzed and visualized. More interestingly, the result of the spatial information can be integrate with various other research discipline. This paper reviews: 1) geospatial as one of the tools used in geography teaching material; 2) the application of geospatial in coastal ecotourism management; and 3) geospatial based coastal ecotourism management for geography education. A review from geospatial based coastal ecotourism management for geography teaching material development was established. Hence, its effectiveness and efficiency is also discussed

    The Estimation of Mangroves Area and Density of Mangroves Changes Use the Remote Sensing Data at Northheast Province of Aceh, Indonesia

    The aim of the research to mapping mangrove estimate mangroves area in time series data at the years 2000, 2005, 2011, and 2015, and looking for density of mangroves changing at the Northeast Province of Aceh. The methodology use data Landsat TM5, OLI TIRS, Administration map, and tools use by ENVI 4.5, ArcGIS 10.1, technical analysis to interpretation mangroves  area used the algorithm    the maximum likelihood classification, Kernel density to  calculate density of mangroves changing. Result of the research. From the estimation of mangrove land with intrepetasi satellite imagery obtained by maximum likelihood algorithma cotton area of mangroves in the study are always varied and changing, change-oriented land areas surrounding existing land use is not mangrove in mangrove areas. Mangrove areas relative change in Kernel density indicated in the model to observe the point of incidence of the changes experienced more change in the frequency changes in the form of multi-time repeated changes of the time period, and changes in the relatively small area that is always on changing every time calculations

    Development of Prezzi Media in Landslide Disaster Mitigation Learning in Indonesia (Case Study at SMA Xavarius in Bukittinggi)

    The purpose of this research and development was to develop Prezi presentation media in the learning of landslide disaster mitigation that was feasible to be used in the learning process and to know the effectiveness of media at class X SMA Xavarius in  Bukittinggi. This research model used to research and development based on  Borg and Gall (1983) development model. The steps used include: 1) initial needs analysis, 2) product development, 3) expert validation, 4) product revision I, 5) field trials, 6) product revisions II, and 7) final product. The result of this research shows that Prezi media in learning landslide disaster mitigation was valid / proper to be used, proved by scoring by media expert 96,84% (valid/worth using); material experts of 89.00% (valid / worth using); student trial test score of 89.53% (valid / worth using); and teacher user experiments of 86.89% (valid / worth using). This research is a qualitative research, and is conducted in Koto Baru Traditional Market of X Koto Subdistrict of Tanah Datar Regency which is taken based on Purposive Sampling. The data in this research is collected through observation, interview and documentation and continued with data analysis, Interpretation and Withdrawal Conclusion and then continued to do SWOT analysis to get the strategy in development of Traditional Market of KoToBaru Sub X Koto Tanah Datar regency.     Land degradation is one of the causes of lack of success of agricultural activities in Indonesia because of a decline in land productivity continuously and ultimately reduce the level of income / welfare of farmers. Land degradation can occur either on dry land or in wetlands, so prevention and / or rehabilitation of degraded land is very important that the agricultural area can be used on an ongoing basis. Land degradation is the loss or reduction of utility or potential use of land, loss of or changes in land features that are not hindered replaced. According to FAO (1993), soil degradation is a process that describes the phenomenon which lower the capacity of soil to support life.     Spatial Analysis of The Needs of Green Open Space at Universitas Negeri Padang

    The decreasing of environmental quality in padang is caused by the changes of the land, the increasing number of vehicles and the increasing number of population. The solution to overcome these problems is by providing a green open space at universitas negeri padang (unp). The objectives of this study are 1) to analyze the needs of green open space at unp, 2) to plan the construction of open green space at unp. The method employed in this study was survey by using spatial analysis remote sensing data from google earth. The results of the study revealed that unp had open green space as large as 7.643 ha. The area of green open space at unp that fulfilled the width criteria was as much as 10%, and the fulfillment of population and clean air criteria was as much as 20%. However, the minimum width criterion of green open space, which was as much as 30%, was not fulfilled yet. The discrepancy between the area of open green space and the criteria of minimum width (30%) was 0.447 ha. Such lack of green open space can be filled by: optimizing  the unoccupied land as large as 1.4 ha by planting the clump, providing 2308 flower’s pots, and making use of building shelter and building lobbies, and campus corridor to be planted with clump, ornamental plants or other types of epiphytes and lianas.  &nbsp

    Estimated Carbon Absorption and Economic Benefits in Various Scenarios of Community Forest (HKm) Land Management Through The Scheme of Plan Vivo in The Upstream Watersheds (DAS) of Renggung River, Central Lombok Regency, Indonesia

    This study aims to (1) estimate carbon absorption and the economic benefits of HKM land management through Plan Vivo scheme and (2) determine the composition of plants to be prioritised. This research was conducted in the upstream watershed of Renggung River in Central Lombok. The calculation of the estimated carbon absorption was obtained using allometric equations, while the estimated economic benefits were calculated from the production of commodities that are grown and the potential of carbon trading. To determine the prioritised scenarios, Analitycal Hierarchy Process (AHP) was conducted. The time range of analysis is conducted within a period of 15 years with three scenarios of composition of plants : (1) scenario-1:  70% MPTs and 30% timber trees (2) scenario-2: 30% MPTs and 70% timber trees; and (3) scenario-3: 50% MPTs and 50% timber trees. The results of the study are as follows: (1) the increased absorption of carbon dioxide (CO2) for scenario-1 amounted to 87.54 tonnes/ha/yr, scenario-2 amounted to 138.93 tons/ha/yr, and scenario-3 for 113.88 ton/ha/yr; (2) The economic benefits for the scenario 1 is of IDR 37,882,304,- /hectare/year, the scenario-2 of IDR 22,875,951,- per hectare / year, and scenario-3 of IDR 31,685,853,- per hectare/year.     Development Learning Device Model of Environmental Education in the Character of Environmental Care at Senior High School in Solok Selatan Regency

    Implementation of environmentally caring education in schools requires teachers to develop learning tools that can lead learners to achieve the expected growth of character. The purpose of this research to produce learning devices of environmental education (PLH) that can grow this characters in high school students in Solok Selatan Regency. Development method using the 4-D model which consists of four stages of defining, design, development and disseminate. Learning tools developed in the form of the syllabus, Lesson Plan, and students worksheet. The result of document analysis of learning devices shows that during this implementation of environmental character education through PLH at senior high school in Solok Selatan Regency has not been done properly. It is necessary to develop effective learning tools effectively to build the environmental caring character of learners. As a proven from the analysis of the validity of learning devices showed in a very good category, the device practicability by the teacher was very good and by the students of the good category. Effectiveness device seen from the learning of cognitive domain and effective were also in the good category. The character formed through the development of learning tools PLH classified into 2, namely individual characters, among others: religious, disciplined, creative, independent. Then the second was the social character, among others: environmental care, social care, responsibility. The study of learning device development only up to stage three development of four stages of development of the 4-D model. It would be better if the development model was done until the disseminate stage so that learning devices can be developed on a wider scale
