Development of Transformative Leadership for Head of State Madrasah Aliyah
Leadership is an essential element in organizational speed. Mastery of leadership theory can make a significant contribution to the madrasah principal. This research aims to examine the influence of the transformative leadership of madrasah heads on teacher performance in two madrasahs in Bandung. This research uses a qualitative approach. Collecting data with interview techniques, observation, and documentation. Informants in this study involved the head of the madrasah, the deputy head of curriculum, teachers and students. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, presentation, conclusions, and validity testing. The study results show that the madrasah principal uses a leadership strategy that builds teacher commitment through regular supervision and monitoring. The madrasah head provides inspirational communication, motivates teachers with the afterlife goals, and instils discipline through habits. In dealing with criticism, the madrasah principal is open and democratic and involves all madrasah members in policy-making. This transformative leadership approach shows a constructive and honest intellectual stimulus. The head of the madrasa awards teachers who excel and offers advice to teachers who need it. This research emphasizes the importance of transformative leadership in improving the quality of teachers and realizing Madrasahs that are akhlakul karimah
A New Direction of Learning Science of Kalam in State Islamic University
This article aims to explain the development of learning kalam science, which has become one of the mandatory subjects for all study programs at State Islamic Religious Universities (PTKIN). To understand the new direction of kalam science learning, this research focuses on several formulations, such as the trajectory of kalam science learning, the orientation, and the inclusiveness of kalam science learning at PTKIN. This research uses qualitative research with a case study approach. Data sources consist of lecturers and students involved in learning natural sciences. Observation, interviews and documentation were carried out for data collection. Data analysis with stages of categorization, interpretation and presentation. The findings of this research explain that the learning trajectory of natural sciences at PTKIN has shifted from the IAIN era, which was ideological-subjective, to the UIN period, which was more ideological-objective. Meanwhile, the orientation of learning kalam sciences has also changed from being focused on preaching to scientific development. The new direction of learning natural sciences at PTKIN has demonstrated inclusive learning, characterized by accepting differences and finding common ground and reason among students. This research confirms that the inclusive attitude of learning kalam science has positively impacted creating a harmonious society amidst disagreements
Malay Culture-Based Local Content Curriculum in Islamic Education
Globalization is a reality that humans must accept and penetrates various aspects of life, such as the economy and education. Education is not anti-globalization, but through education, there should be filtering of globalization that supports the realization of national education goals. Therefore, the position of the curriculum is seen as the basis for fortifying a generation aware of the superiority of local culture. This study aims to reveal the rationality of genre-based local culture in the curriculum, the elements of local culture teaching, and the design of the gradation of genre-based local content of Malay culture. The researcher uses a descriptive qualitative approach with the library research method to analyze the Malay cultural genre contained in the curriculum through data sources in the form of articles, books, and scientific reports. The result of this research is the implementation of Malay genre-based local content subjects has a clear foundation, namely the State of Indonesia and the Indonesian language comes from the Malay language in Indonesia. The Malay genre, as a local curriculum content, is understood as a whole of ideas, actions, and human works and has become an inseparable system from the life of the Indonesian people. Malay genre-based local curriculum design can be done by internalizing Malay culture in every subject set in the curriculum, especially those related to the cultural history of the Indonesian nation and its relation to Islamic religious education. This finding is based on the culture of the country as well as the ideology of the Indonesian state is inseparable from Islamic values
Fostering Religious Tolerance in Early Childhood: The Influence of Parental Role
Tolerance is needed in a diverse environment with different religions, ethnicities, customs, and cultures. So tolerance requires a culture that is done from an early age. Religion has fundamental values that teach its adherents to respect people of different faiths and beliefs so that it can be used as a guide for parents to provide assistance and develop tolerance at home. This research aims to investigate how the involvement and role of parents in cultivating the value of patience at home; do they provide support or hinder? The location of this research is Luwu Raya, a fertile area in Indonesia. This is qualitative research where the researchers chose 105 parents who had early childhood and lived together at home. Interviews were conducted via telephone, and several statements and questions were provided via Google form. The research analysis found that most of the early childhood children have parents who are still intact, live together and are given assistance that supports the cultivation of tolerance values at home. The religious-based tolerance values instilled are moderate (tawassuth), tolerant (tasamuh), balanced (tawazun), equality (musawah), peace (islah), and fair (i`tidal). In addition, the role of parents is mainly done by setting an example and, to a lesser extent, by applying rules and respect. This support is also related to the teachings of the Islamic religion, which emphasises the enormous responsibility of parents. The role of parents in cultivating the value of tolerance is a distinctive feature of a Muslim family, which strongly emphasises the solid relationship in parenting between parents and their children. This condition must be continued in school institutions and the environment, dramatically determining these efforts
Innovation Online Learning for Islamic Education in Madrasah
This article discusses learning design, learning models and learning management of e-Learning-based Islamic Religious Education during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research is descriptive qualitative. The primary data source of this study was Islamic Education (PAI) teachers, and secondary data sources in this study were school profile data and Islamic Religious Education learning tools. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis techniques use the stages of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The research results are, first, the learning design of the Dick and Carrey model by carrying out ten stages. Second, the e-learning-based Islamic Education learning model is a web course, a learning process that uses the internet. The teacher goes through several stages, namely: (a) planning, (b) implementation, e-learning based Islamic Education learning is carried out in the WhatsApp class group, (c) evaluation, the teacher evaluates during the learning process through discussions and at the end of learning in the form of assignments. Third, in realizing maximum online learning, madrasas form an EFH learning management team consisting of principals, managers, editors, teachers, homeroom teachers, counsellors and parents who have their respective roles
Challenges of Affective Assessment of Islamic Religious Education Learning in Merdeka Curriculum
This study aims to identify the challenges of madrasah teachers in the affective assessment of Islamic Religious Education based on the Independent Curriculum and to evaluate the understanding and abilities of teachers. This study uses a mixed explanatory method, with a quantitative method through a survey of 177 Islamic Religious Education teachers in East Kalimantan selected through simple random sampling from 378 teachers. Qualitative data were collected through interviews and observations. Quantitative analysis uses descriptive statistics (SPSS-25.0), and qualitative analysis uses the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. This study reveals that the main challenges in affective assessment for Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers based on the Independent Curriculum include: (1) teachers' lack of understanding of religious affective assessment, (2) limited ability to carry out assessments, (3) low skills in using affective assessment methods and instruments, and (4) minimal support in terms of training, resources, and time. Teachers tend to focus more on cognitive assessments, causing students' affective assessments of religiosity to be less monitored. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of improving teacher competence in understanding and assessment skills, as well as training and resource support. Future research should develop an effective assessment training model based on the Merdeka Curriculum, including practical instruments, technology support, and collaboration between schools, government, and related parties to strengthen teacher capacity
The Power of Dhikr: Elevating Intellectual, Emotional, and Spiritual Quotients
This article aims to solve problems and explain the importance of dhikr in developing intellectual, emotional, and spiritual intelligence. This research focuses on how dhikr can improve cognitive function and reduce stress and anxiety. This research method is a literature study with a psycho-sufism approach. The data were obtained from the results of previous research and also from several journal articles. Data analysis using content analysis. The results of this study indicate that dhikr increases intellectual, emotional, and spiritual intelligence, as seen in increased empathy and emotional regulation. The author explores the spiritual benefits of dhikr, arguing that it can deepen one's relationship with God and provide a sense of purpose and meaning in life. The role of dhikr in holistic development and provides insight into the potential benefits of dhikr practice. The practice of dhikr can profoundly impact a person's intellectual, emotional and spiritual well-being, making it a valuable tool for personal growth and development
Mental Health with Gender Differences in Internet Pornography-Viewing-Disorder (IPD): Analysis in Educational Guidance and Counseling
With rapid technological advances, users worldwide have access to various data and content on the internet, including pornographic content. The availability of pornographic videos on the internet harms the morale and image of adolescents and adults of both sexes. This study aims to determine the gender-specific relationship between pornography motivation, sexual arousal, and sexual satisfaction with Internet Pornography-Viewing-Disorder (IPD). This type of research is quantitative. Convenience sampling was used in conducting the approach, and 202 participants filled out the distributed Google forms. The respondents of this study were online pornography users from Malaysia and Indonesia. Data was collected using an online questionnaire through social networking sites such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Whatsapp. Data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive data analysis. This involves processing and presenting data in descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. This study provides an essential understanding of the role of sexual arousal and the desire to experience pleasure in viewing online pornography. The research results show that these factors have a significant influence as a motivator for individuals who engage in these behaviours. More specifically, these findings suggest that men are more driven by sexual arousal and the desire to seek pleasure when accessing online pornography. The implications of this finding are very relevant in educational guidance and counselling. In seeking to help individuals who engage in online pornographic behaviour, counsellors and educators must understand that sexual arousal and the desire to experience pleasure can act as powerful motivators. In counselling, it is necessary to consider how these factors can influence individual behaviour and psychological health
Child-Friendly Islamic Boarding School (CFIBS): Realizing Humanistic Goals of Islamic Education
Pondok Pesantren Ramah Anak (PRA) telah muncul sebagai salah satu wadah untuk mewujudkan tujuan humanistik pendidikan Islam, khususnya dalam proses mendidik dan mengasuh anak didik. Pendidikan dan pengasuhan yang tepat dan benar sangat menentukan kualitas individu yang tidak hanya cerdas secara intelektual tetapi juga memiliki sikap dan perilaku yang luhur. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis model perlindungan anak dari kekerasan yang dilakukan oleh Pesantren IMMIM dan Pesantren Nahdlatul 'Ulum Makassar dari perspektif Pendidikan Islam. Pendekatan kualitatif digunakan, dan data diperoleh melalui observasi komprehensif, wawancara mendalam, studi literatur, dan triangulasi. Selanjutnya dilakukan wawancara dengan kepala sekolah, guru, wali thalib (pembina), dan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kedua pesantren telah menerapkan model perlindungan anak melalui berbagai cara, seperti pengasuhan dan pendampingan (kemusyrifan), kurikulum dan proses pembelajaran, sarana dan prasarana, pelayanan publik, regulasi, dan penanganan masalah. Meskipun pelaksanaan program Pesantren Ramah Anak di Pondok Pesantren IMMIM dan Nahdlatul 'Ulum berhasil, namun belum sepenuhnya sesuai dengan pedoman. Studi ini memberikan kontribusi untuk pengembangan model Pondok Pesantren Ramah AnakChild-Friendly Islamic Boarding Schools (CFIBS) have emerged as a forum for realizing Islamic education's humanistic goals, especially in educating and caring for students. Proper and correct education and upbringing dramatically determine the quality of individuals who are not only intellectually intelligent but also have noble attitudes and behaviour. This study aims to analyze the model of protecting children from violence carried out by the IMMIM Islamic Boarding School and the Nahdlatul 'Ulum Makassar Islamic Boarding School from the perspective of Islamic Education. Qualitative methods, field approaches were used, and data were obtained through comprehensive observation, in-depth interviews and supported by literature studies. Inductive data analysis techniques and source triangulation as data validity. The research results show that the two Islamic boarding schools have implemented a model of child protection in various ways, such as parenting and accompaniment (musyrif), curriculum and learning processes, facilities and infrastructure, public services, regulation, and problem-solving. Although implementing the Child-Friendly Islamic Boarding School program at the IMMIM and Nahdlatul 'Ulum Islamic Boarding Schools was successful, it needed to be more by the guidelines. This study contributes to developing a Child-Friendly Islamic Boarding School model
The Interpersonal Contribution of Capital Prophetic Leadership of Principals in Character Development
This study aims to describe and analyze the prophetic leadership of school principals in improving students' religious character with the prophetic leadership model of school principals. This type of research uses a qualitative variety with a case study approach, data collection techniques through observation of all learning activities, critical interviews with school principals, supporting documentation of the prophetic leadership model, data analysis techniques using Miles Huberman's theory, and data validation techniques using triangulation. This research resulted in a prophetic contribution to the concept of leadership by emphasizing the Prophet's excellence, namely sidiq (honest) in innovating to run leadership in schools, amanah (personal excellence) in managing infrastructure to support the development of students' religious character, tabligh (interpersonal capital) social interaction with the primary goal advancing the school without other interests, fatonah (intelligent) in planning the concept of instilling the values of the religious character of students in every line from the school's vision to the implementation in each work unit
