Islamic Education and the Principles of Social Justice: Implications for Government Responsibilities in Providing Compensation and Restitution
The principle of legal equality, one of the fundamental principles in the rule of law, emphasizes the importance of providing legal protection to victims in the criminal justice process. This study examines existing compensation and restitution arrangements from an Islamic education studies perspective. This is important to strengthen the values of social justice, which are reflected in the Islamic education approach, which prioritizes the protection of victims as a moral and religious ethical mandate. This study will use a qualitative research method with a normative system based on Pancasila's philosophy from the Islamic education perspective. This research will collect quality data through interviews, observation, and document analysis, which will be analyzed inductively. The results of this study indicate that compensation and restitution arrangements in positive law still need to reflect the principles of justice recommended in Islam. From the perspective of Islamic education, this study highlights the need for legal policies based on Islamic values in implementing restitution for victims of criminal acts, taking into account human values, justice and social responsibility. The importance of harmonising legal substance and structure in an integrated criminal justice system was also found. In conclusion, improvements are needed in compensation and restitution arrangements so that they pay attention to victims of crime and are by the values and legal culture of the society in the perspective of Islamic education, with the government's responsibility to maintain the balance of the rights of perpetrators and victims in the criminal justice system
Anthropological Approach to Islamic Education: Establishing Noble Spirituality in Overcoming Social Conflict
This research examined how the anthropological approach to Islamic education is in building noble spirituality and overcoming problems of social conflict. The object of study is the student boarding school, Mahad Talhah bin Ubaidillah to be precise, Palu City, Central Sulawesi Province. This study uses a phenomenological approach, including a type of qualitative method. It collects data using observation interviews, documentation, and single data analysis (individual case analysis). The study's results found that the value of ukhuah Islamiyah was instilled to form students who always maintain unity and create harmonious relationships. Instilled noble moral values to shape students to become polite individuals, both in speech and in behaviour. In addition, it is customary to hold deliberations when facing problems, which is done to shape students into individuals who respect and respect the opinions of others, not feeling the most righteous themselves. As well as the habit of maintaining other people's privacy, this is to form students into individuals who do not like to interfere in private matters. Given that students live together in the dormitory. When these values are not instilled, they will disturb and damage the comfort of other students. This conclusion can become an idea for realizing good spirituality and can be a reference for overcoming social conflicts.
 
The Development of Multicultural Islamic Education in the Modern Era: Relevance and Challenges
Multicultural Islamic Education is an education that emphasizes multiculturalism as one of the visions of education with the main character that is inclusive, egalitarian, and humanist but remains firmly based on spiritual and divine values based on the Qur'an and Sunnah. The type of research used is the qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. This research collected data through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Researchers conducted epoché, followed by data analysis with three stages, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing/verification. The study's results demonstrate the relevance of developing multicultural Islamic education in the modern era, which provides high respect and guarantees for each individual. Therefore, it is incorrect to assume that Islamic education lacks humanistic elements. Furthermore, the study's findings indicate that the development of multicultural Islamic education is not a simple task. This study found challenges and obstacles in formulating and adopting multiculturalism in the world of Islamic education, including: differences in the boundaries of multiculturalism as an ideology, exclusivism in homogeneous groups, vague tolerance boundaries that have the potential to cause egocentrism, the selection of appropriate multicultural models and types for Islamic education, and the feasibility and readiness of each component of the Islamic education system. The study's results suggest several ways to enhance multicultural Islamic education, including the need to keep refining the discourse of multicultural Islamic education. Second, that must continue to deepen and explore the concept of education, which upholds values, beliefs, heterogeneity, plurality, diversity, and all aspects of community life within the context of studying Islamic teachings based on the Qur'an and Sunnah. Third, further research is needed to establish the concept and form of multicultural Islamic education that can be implemented in practice
The Doctrine of Islamic Values Through the Curriculum: a Case Study at the Madrasah Hurrasul Aqidah Tarakan City
The purpose of this study is to describe how and what are the doctrines of Islamic values through the curriculum in educational institutions. The existence of Islamic education is to preserve the proper value system of piety. Because it is human nature that specific value systems also demand a developed education system, the strategies adopted, the techniques used, the subject matter as content, and the policies from the lowest level of an institution to the main level with a comprehensive and integrated curriculum system, all of which should not be contrary to the Islamic value system as a fitrah. This research uses qualitative research by taking data at Madrasah Hurrasul Aqidah Tarakan City as the object of research, data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation; analytical tools used are Miles and Huberman qualitative analysis models, checking the validity of data using triangulation. This study resulted in five doctrinal values through the curriculum, namely: strengthening the Islamic aqidah uluhiyah-rububiyah-asma wa shifat in students' daily lives, emphasizing habituation of sunnah worship integrated with fiqh subjects, habituation of civilized characters with examples and directions, tahfidh al-qur'an it is mandatory for all students to have the vision of creating a Qur'anic generation, and tadabbur alam (knowing God's creation) as natural learning media. This study is oriented by integrating Islamic values in the core and extra curriculum as the doctrine of giving birth to an Islamic generation (qur'ani); this emphasizes the critical role of vision and mission in a robust educational institution that characterizes the output of its graduates because the cases generally follow the general policy of the government only
Islamic Education Planning at Madrasah Aliyah Nurul Muhajirin Tanjung Lago
This article discusses the planning of Islamic education at MA Nurul Muhajirin Tanjung Lago, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province. In this study, the researcher used a qualitative descriptive study. The techniques used in data analysis are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, with data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation. The study results indicate that madrasas have implemented educational planning as an initial step in achieving a goal. Islamic education planning at MA Nurul Muhajirin includes long-term planning because several programs are planned and conceptualized in the annual program of the madrasa related to the vision and mission in detail. Furthermore, Islamic education planning is also integrated with programs related to empowering students to have competence in cognitive but also affective and psychomotor aspects. All of these activities are integrated into education management. Finally, in planning education in Madrasas, it is not only the quantity aspect of the institution but also the quality aspect that is quite important
Parenting Pattern of Orphan and Dhuafa Children in Building Religious Character
Parenting is a method parents apply to provide children guidance, direction and care. Proper parenting will build a positive and personal child's character. This research aims to determine how to implement orphanage parenting in building the religious nature of orphans and the poor and the support and obstacles in building children's character at the Ar-Rifqi orphanage in Bandung. The research subjects were teachers/ustadz, caregivers and learning residents at the orphanage. Field research with a qualitative descriptive approach. Methods of data collection using observation, interviews, and documentation. Analysis techniques: data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The research results are (1) Implementation of orphanage parenting in building the religious character of orphans and dhuafa by using democratic parenting. (2) Supporting factors are the background of foster children who are orphans and poor, in dire need of parental love, and loving foster parents (3) Inhibiting factors are inadequate learning facilities. These findings show that orphanages have played an active role in building the religious character of orphans and the poor. Therefore it is suggested that democratic parenting is studied more broadly and in-depth so that it can then be applied to other orphanages
Implementation of Islamic Religious Education Learning and Character in the New Normal Era
This article aims to describe the planning, implementation, and evaluation of IRE (Islamic Religious Education) and Character learning at SMK Thoriqul Ulum Pacet. This article uses qualitative research with a case study approach. For data collection, researchers used observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. Data analysis techniques were carried out by data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. This study obtained the following results: 1) General learning planning, a) determination of health protocols, b) preparation of lesson plans, c) face to face assessment during the new standard period d) evaluation. 2) Implementing Islamic Education and Character Learning in the New Normal Era at Thoriqul Ulum Pacet Vocational School using face to face but reducing learning hours. 3) Evaluation of Islamic Education and Character Learning in the New Normal Era at Thoriqul Ulum Pacet Vocational School with the teacher giving exams, oral tests, assignments, and homework
Evaluation of the Islamic Boarding School Empowerment Program in East Java Province
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efforts of the East Java Provincial Government in empowering Islamic Boarding Schools, with a specific focus on their roles as educational and religious institutions, by Law No. 18 of 2019 on Islamic Boarding School. This study adopts a qualitative research approach guided by Peter H. Rossi's Program Evaluation Theory. Data collection methods encompass in-depth interviews with key stakeholders, including government officials, Islamic Boarding School leaders, educators, and community members. Additionally, policy document analysis and direct observations within Islamic Boarding School institutions. The collected data is transcribed and thematically analyzed, guided by Program Evaluation Theory by content analysis. The findings reveal significant advancements in the empowerment of Islamic boarding schools by the East Java Provincial Government. These improvements encompass increased accessibility, elevated educational quality, and economic empowerment within the Islamic Boarding School system. Notable measures contributing to these enhancements include teacher training, the development of inclusive curricula, and improved financial support. Law No. 18 of 2019 serves as a robust legal framework underpinning the empowerment of Islamic Boarding Schools. Nevertheless, challenges persist, including resource limitations, restricted stakeholder cooperation, and the imperative for more effective monitoring and evaluation mechanisms. This research contributes valuable insights into evaluating Islamic Boarding School empowerment programs within the context of Law No. 18 of 2019. It employs the Program Evaluation Theory as a robust framework for assessment. The findings emphasize the value of policy support and collaboration to sustain and improve Islamic Boarding School empowerment in East Java
