Get PDFIn the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 which is characterized by the acceleration of information and technology where information is easily spread throughout the world, teachers have a very important role to prepare students so that they are able to process and understand information well and equipping the students with the skills to read is one of the ways out that teachers need to do. In teaching reading, teachers are required not only to train students' skill to understand texts, but also to train their skill to think actively, creatively and critically and thus, reading learning can provide adequate literacy skills to students. This community service activity aims to socialize the learning model of reading information texts to English teachers from private high schools in East Lombok district as well as train them in applying the model. This activity took place at Al-Badriyah Islamic High School and was attended by 27 teachers. The results of this activity showed that the participants looked enthusiastic and active in participating in the existing series of activities – paying attention and listening to the materials presented by the team, discussions or questions and answers related to presented materials and English learning problems and practicing learning models to read information texts. In addition, the results of the questionnaire for the evaluation of community service activities show that the participants welcomed this activity because they could increase their knowledge and insight, especially those related to teaching reading so that they hoped that there would be similar activities provided in the future

Get PDFLingsar Village is one of the villages in West Lombok Regency that has the potential to develop agro-tourism because 53% of its area consists of agricultural areas and fruit plantations. For this reason, Lingsar Village has great potential to develop organic horticultural plant cultivation which can be packaged as an agro-tourism attraction. This activity is expected to be one of the efforts to empower the community based on the creative economy and can contribute to increasing people's income. Currently, agricultural activities carried out by the people of Lingsar Village are only routine activities to plant on their land or land they rent. Agricultural activities in Lingsar Village are only carried out traditionally and conventionally so that they have not been able to have a significant impact on improving the welfare of the village community. For this reason, this activity aims to develop horticultural cultivation based on organic fertilizer with a touch of technology, which is then packaged so that it can become an agro-tourism attraction. The target to be achieved from this activity is the increasing capacity of the community to manage the potential of agro-tourism that is owned by being creative so that it can become an attraction for tourists. To achieve this target, the approach model used is Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) which emphasizes community involvement in all activities starting from planning, implementing and evaluating programs. This activity consists of three activities, namely counseling, demonstration plots (demonstration plots), and assistance in cultivating horticultural crops based on organic fertilizers and packaging them into agro-tourism attractions. Which aims to spread widely about the importance of evidence in civil matters especially in the settlement of civil cases which should include evidence of suspicion in evidence as a means or tool to resolve a matter that is key and very important and decisive in resolving civil cases in addition to improving knowledge and awareness of the law in society. The method used in this extension activity is to use the method of lectures and discussions. So it is hoped that participants can better understand the material presented. The target audience for this activity is students, village youths and the general public in the area of Gatep Permai. Based on the results of the evaluation conducted by the counselor after the completion of this counseling activity in general can be said that the new participants know the material presented, due to the lack of knowledge of participants about the role of evidence of suspicion

Get PDFOrnamental plant nursery is one form of activity in the thematic KKN-Green Campus. This activity aims to provide plant seeds that are ready to be planted in campus gardens. The nursery activity begins with enriching students' knowledge of plant propagation techniques. The theory of plant propagation is given in class, then followed by nursery practice. The nursery is carried out in the campus environment, starting with the construction of a paranet house located in the Aquaculture Study Program building, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Mataram, then preparing seedling media and planting equipment. There are five types of seeds provided, namely sunflower seeds, marigolds, puring, nine o'clock flowers and Miana tricolor, with a total of 300, 300, 25 80 and 15 seeds, respectively. The propagation of sunflower and marigold plants was carried out generatively and puring, nine o'clock flowers and Miana tricolor flowers were propagated vegetatively. This activity also succeeded in building students' hard skills in plant nurseries, as shown by their success in germinating plants, which on average reached 100% of the number of prepared seeds that were ready to be planted

As an ecotourism destination, water tourism and fishing programs have been developed, as well as environmentally friendly fish farming through organic feed. Other tourism potentials, such as the existence of traditional Bari houses that are more than 200 years old, and songket crafts. As patients with the COVID-19 virus have decreased, the number of tourists visiting Burai village has also increased. Health protocols are still needed, one of which is the use of hand sanitizer. This community service activity is to provide training on making liquid hand sanitizer from lime peel extract with the target audience being the Burai village community, especially tourism service providers. Lime plant is one of the plants cultivated by the people of Burai village. Orange peel extract contains essential oils that function to inhibit the growth of bacteria. In addition, orange peel extract has a fresh aroma. Activities are carried out by giving lectures, training on making hand sanitizers and packaging them. With this activity, it is hoped that the community will be able to provide hand sanitizers for both their own needs and tourists. The results of the activity showed high community participation in activities, more than 75% of the target audience liked the aroma of lime peel extract hand sanitizer

Get PDFBrain injury has the third largest prevalence of other injuries in Indonesia. Most brain injuries occur on highways as a result of motorcycling accidents. The only effective way to reduce the death rate from brain injury that occurs in motorcycle accidents is to wear a helmet. Cases of brain injury due to traffic accidents are often found in adolescents because of the lack of understanding of the importance of helmet use. Therefore, education is needed about the importance of using standard helmets when driving among teenagers. The counseling activity was carried out in one of the senior high schools (SMA) in Mataram with the dominant target of teenagers using motorized vehicles. The selected high school is SMA Negeri 2 Mataram. The method of implementing this counseling is by giving lectures on brain injury, the mechanism of trauma and brain injury and the importance of using standard head protective equipment (SNI helmets), playing videos about head trauma and interactive dialogue. The mandatory output that will be produced is in the form of research articles in the Unram Medical Journal. In addition, research results will be reported back to related fields as input and study material for traffic safety program activities in determining policies in planning, implementing, and evaluating programs as well as coordinating with related programs and sectors. The researcher will also provide a banner stand regarding the importance of using standard helmets for motorcycle riders at the activity location which can then be used as a medium of communication, information and education to the school students

This activity is based on the potential of Loyok Village as a village located on the Mount Siu-Kotaraja tourism and the Tetebatu route tourist location which has been visited by many local and foreign tourists, so the village administrator hopes that Loyok Village can be more advanced to support tourism programs by having superior products of duck meat and eggs. Service activities are carried out through providing training on feed processing and making salted eggs. Salted eggs will be the flagship product of Loyok Village to be used as souvenirs for tourists. The target audience of this service activity is a group of women livestock farmers in Loyok Village. It is hoped that from this activity the community will be motivated and moved to develop livestock business so that it becomes the main livelihood and village administrators and village community leaders will support by making one of the village’s flagship programs supporting the tourism village program. The service activity was attended by the village head and his staff and 20woman farmers. Participants participated in the salted egg making training with enthusiasm, revealing the various problems faced in making salted eggs that had been carried out so far. Despite it’s huge population, representing 24,6% population of Nusa Tenggara Barat, East Lombok could supply 2% of market demand at most. The high cost of chicken coop construction is one of the main reasons of this low production. Meanwhile, Bamboo is abundant in East Lombok, it’s thrive along Tojang River Bank. Bamboo could be use as substitute material for battery cages. Cost production of battery cages from bamboo is relatively lower than the one made from hardwood, steel, light steel, and baton. Considering accessible substitute materials at lower price are available, the cost production could be reduced. This community service is aiming for local community cognition of local bamboo as low priced material. This community service is implemented by discourse, which done by a number of survey, survey of the community service location, and discourse to give information of how to utilize local bamboo as battery cages material, size of the cages including size of individual cage, gap between column, column’s height, local bamboo as material for frame and purlin, bamboo as economy and environmental friendly material, preservation method, suitable bamboo joint model for battery cages structure. Therefore, the main thing that must be prevented in globalization is the emergence of this process. Inequality is a real form of development that can be solved by empowering the community, especially for real weak economic actors. Community empowerment is one of the efforts to facilitate local communities in planning, deciding and managing their resources so that in the end they have the ability and independence in an economically, ecologically and socially sustainable manner. Through this empowerment, the community can develop opportunities to show characteristics and be independent to develop their potential. Ranggagata Village is one of the villages located in Southwest Praya District, Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia. Ranggagata Village has the potential for banana commodities as raw material for processed products but cannot be utilized by the community itself because there are several inhibiting factors, such as the lack of community innovation in making processed products and the lack of interest in community entrepreneurship. The implementation methods used in this activity are socialization, training and mentoring, and evaluation of activities. The results of the activity showed that the community was able to receive the results of the training well, this was proven by their enthusiasm for participating in the activity from beginning to end. From the results of these activities, it can be concluded that the service activities carried out can provide knowledge and skills to entrepreneurs, especially PKK mothers and housewives to produce products that have high selling value
