Get PDFAs a result of increasing population, the quantity of solid waste is continuing to grow. The most common method for the disposal of solid waste is landfilling. However, huge negative environmental impacts such as odor, dust, contamination of groundwater are among the problems that arise due to disposal of solid waste in landfill sites. Therefore, reduction of solid waste going to landfill is important issue to implemented. Achievement of this target depends upon active waste minimization being practices by all part of the community. This community service program was conducted in Karang Pule, Sekarbela district, Mataram. The aims of the activity were to provide knowledge and increasing public awareness regarding to the urgency of reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill sites, utilizing waste as much as possible through reduce, reuse, recycling (3R) in accordance with the principles of waste management hierarchy towards zero waste. In addition, the process of utilizing organic waste into compost for plant fertilizers was demonstrated. The community service program was also carried out by involving the participants on composting process. The results of the evaluation showed that the participants were very interested and understood the material provided
Pelatihan Pengenalan dan Manajemen Kegawatdaruratan Anak di Rumah Sakit Universitas Mataram
Get PDFKasus kematian anak di rumah sakit bisa saja terjadi dalam waktu 24 jam pertama pasien masuk ke rumah sakit apabila kegawatdaruratan tidak dikenali dan ditangani dengan baik. Beberapa kasus kematian tersebut sebenarnya dapat dicegah bila anak yang sakit berat dapat segera teridentifikasi pada saat tiba di rumah sakit dan mendapat penanganan tanpa ada keterlambatan. Oleh karena itu, pengenalan dan penanganan kegawatdaruratan anak menjadi hal penting yang harus dikuasai setiap tenaga kesehatan dalam perawatan anak sakit. Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi perawat anak dan dokter umum untuk mengenali dan menangani kegawatdaruratan anak di unit gawat darurat dan ruang perawatan. Sebanyak 40 partisipan yang terdiri dari dokter umum dan perawat mengikuti pelatihan ini, Sebagian besar partisipan berjenis kelamin perempuan (62,5%) dengan rerata usia 24±1,7 tahun. Semua partisipan berlatar belakang pendidikan tinggi, dan telah bekerja di RS Universitas Mataram selama setidaknya 6 bulan terakhir. Pada akhir pelatihan, didapatkan peningkatan bermakna pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta dalam mengenali dan menangani kegawatdaruratan anak. Pelatihan kegawatdaruratan anak perlu diselenggarakan secara berkala untuk meningkatkan kualitas layanan perawatan anak di Rumah Sakit Universitas Matara

Get PDFResidents of RT. 03RW. 05 Mojo Village, Pasar Kliwon District, Surakarta, totaling 20 families. and the majority of the population work as entrepreneurs and casual laborers. Most of the PKK members' mothers (wives) are housewives. They really need additional financial income to meet family needs. They have never received counseling or training on making organic compost from universities or other institutions. From the results of interviews, several female PKK members wanted counseling and training in making organic compost fertilizer as an alternative to increase their income financially. For this reason, the Biology Education Study Program Abdimas Team will provide training to PKK RT 03 members on making organic compost from family waste. The objectives of this community service are 1. Provide training on how to make organic compost. 2. Provide training/skills in applying organic compost with planting media. The training was held 2 times. The method used is lectures and questions and answers, as well as practical guidance on how to make and apply organic compost. The target of this training is to increase understanding of how to make organic compost by 20%, and a skill score of >70. From the results of the training on making organic compost for women from PKK RT 03 RW 05, Mojo sub-district, it can be concluded that: There is an increase in understanding of the process of making organic compost from an average score of 38.23 to 89.14, meaning there is an increase in understanding of 51.25 ( 153.04%). For the skill scores for making compost and its application to media and plants, PKK members obtained scores of 88.92 and 88.71, which means that all participants are skilled in making fertilizer and applying it to plants

Get PDFParkinson's disease is a neurodegenerative disease that is quite common in the elderly population, which is the second most common after Alzheimer's disease. Patients with advanced Parkinson's disease will rely heavily on family members to carry out their basic daily activities. This activity aims to disseminate information related to Parkinson's disease to visitors to the Neurology Polyclinic at the University of Mataram Hospital. The activities carried out included pre-tests, topic presentations, and post-tests. The enthusiasm of the participants in this activity was recorded as a photo documentation. Statistical analysis using paired t-test was carried out to test whether there was a significant difference between the mean pre-test and post-test scores of the participants. A total of 15 participants participated in this whole series of activities with great enthusiasm. There was a significant increase in the post-test mean value compared to the pre-test mean value (p = 0.002). Community service activities in the form of counseling are effective in increasing participants' knowledge about Parkinson's disease

Get PDFMadrasah is an Islamic religious education unit under the auspices of the Ministry of Religion. In Kota Mataram, Provinsi NTB, there are two types of madrasas: public and private. Based on the interviews with PPKn teachers at the madrasah, there was anxiety about PPKn teachers carrying out learning. The reason is that students are less interested in participating in the learning, considering the implementation of education, which tends to be monotonous and based on low-level thinking skills (LOTS). PPKn teachers have realized this but have not made many innovations due to limited knowledge and experience in developing innovative learning. Based on this, the purpose of this community service is to realize innovative PPKn learning in madrasas through HOTS-based portfolio learning training. The method used is guided training and mentoring. The implementation stages of the method include preparation, training, and guided assistance. The results show that there has been an increase in participants' cognitive abilities regarding HOTS-based learning after attending the training. This socialization activity was carried out at the request of a village youth leader who hoped to solve the problem of the accumulation of vegetable and fruit waste in Sembalun Timba Gading Village. The targets of community service activities are youth leaders, community leaders, and village officials. The socialization of organic waste management begins with dissemination of sorting kitchen organic waste (s.o.d) and continues with socialization on processing s.o.d. using the Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggot. This processing technology will solve the problem of household waste and unsold vegetable and fruit waste and increase people's income by producing products in the form of commercial maggot and used maggot (kasgot). Maggot products can be used as poultry and fish feed, while cassava can be used as organic fertilizer for rice fields, plantations and horticultural crops. The socialization activity was enthusiastically attended by village administrators and youth of Sembalun Timba Galih Village (about 25 people). Service participants will follow up on this activity by making a proposal for a training program for organic waste processing using BSF maggot in order to create environmental cleanliness in tourist areas such as Sembalun Timba Gading Village.
