Integration of the TOEIC L & R Test into a non-selective freshman course
Full text link研究ノートThis study explores the feasibility of integrating the TOEIC L & R test preparation guidance into a non-selective freshman course for non-English majors who have been struggling with English. The aim of this study is to explore how to effectively help boost confidence in EFL learners with poor performance in English and fear of the TOEIC L & R test. To achieve this aim, the author introduced a newly-developed teaching method, arranged five tests, conducted a survey and analyzed data in SPSS. The data from the five tests showed that students’ overall scores (reading and listening) improved, with more significant improvement in listening sections. The survey also indicated students’ major satisfaction in the teaching method. However, the changes in teaching method and scores did not seem to bring desired results in students’ motivation in the TOEIC L & R test, and they did not show great interest in individual tutoring.departmental bulletin pape

Study on legal issues between Japan and Taiwan based on the Japan-Taiwan working holiday agreement
Full text link論文On April 3, 2009, a letter was issued to introduce a working holiday system between Japan and Taiwan （Japan-Taiwan Working Holiday Agreement）. Application for issuance of working holiday visa has started. However, since the Japan-Taiwan Working Holiday Agreement is not an official "treaty," at least the Japanese side has kept it private. This paper examines the legal issues that exist in the Japan-Taiwan Working Holiday Agreement, which is a closed-door agreement. In conclusion, this article points out that not only Japan, but also Taiwan, which has made the Japan-Taiwan working holiday agreement "probably" public, has problems from the perspective of the law and democracy.departmental bulletin pape
