An analysis of incoming wind pulsation on the wind erosion processes on a hill
Get PDFThe present analysis undertakes the problem of surface wind over topography. The main focus is placed upon the effect of oncoming wind oscillations on the velocity field structure around a single sinusoidal shaped 2D hill. Additional effort has been undertaken to recognize the inflow gust influence on the surface shear stress related to the mechanism of wind induced erosion. Numerical simulations have been performed through the use of the phase-averaged form of RNG version of k-ɛ turbulence model. Experimental verification of numerical data has been done in wind tunnels equipped with devices generating unsteady wind boundary layers. The main findings of the simulations reveal: a strong dependence between the characteristics of inflow periodicity and the structure of vortices of the separation region; the mean position of the reattachment point; the phase averaged velocity field; skin friction variability downstream from the hill. The results have significant implications for the prediction of sand transport in unsteady winds

This solution can be used for automation of the calculation process, intermediate states and blank design generation for wide sets of parts. The calculation formulas, decision parameters and definition of intermediate states are also presented in this paper. The results from the developed SQL queries are attached. The presented idea and implemented database will reduce the time of design of a blank for rotary and axisymmetric parts in machining processes

The proof is non-perturbative and relies on construction of periodic isolating segments in the Galerkin projections

Get PDFThe history of embroidery on the Silk RoadEmbroidery was invented in China more than 3000 years ago. The earliest record on the role of embroidery in the court dress was found in the Chinese classic texts of Western Zhou (1077–730 B.C.). And the oldest fragments of embroidered Chinese export silks were discovered before the Second World War at the foot of Altay Mountains in the Scythian kurhans of Pazyryk (4th century B.C.). Many more well-preserved silk embroideries were excavated in the sand-buried oases of Turfan (in today’s Xinjiang) and found in the rock temples of Dunhuang (in the Thousand Buddas’ Grottoes). These were mostly the Tang Dunasty (618–907) embroideries on the Buddhist or Manichean religious banners, as well as costume or shoe decorations. Around the 6th century A.D. embroidery found its way from China to the Kingdom of Khotan and to other countries lying along the Silk Road, together with silkworm rearing and silk manufacture secret skills. From the Kingdom of Khotan they spread to the Central Asian states and finally to the Roman Orient. In later times the art of embroidery was conveyed by Arabs to Sicily where the intermixing of Latin, Greek and Arab cultures stimulated a rise of new art forms and designs clearly visible in the Sicilian textile and embroidery designs. It was a well-known silk manufacture workshop Hotel du Thiraz in Palermo where the famous coronation mantle for Roger II was probably manufactured. Many original Chinese stitches (cross-stitch, satin-stitch) were later introduced in Europe and became universally known under their new European names, such as Holbein stitch, Bargello stitch known as Florentine stitch, Assisi embroidery, etc. Beginning from the 16th century embroidery became very fashionable at the court and religious circles in Europe. Female and male costumes, table-clothes, head decorations, shoes, ornates and other objects used by clergy in churches – all were richly covered with embroidery. During the next two centuries, as the Eastern infl uence of the Silk Road cultures diffused in Europe more known as Orientalism, it touched the European dress as well (in particular the European court and wealthy bourgeois) being a source of inspiration for the local artists and such motives as phoenixes and dragons, lions and tigers, the exotic plants, animals and birds became common in the decoration of textiles and embroidery till the modern times

In recent years, China has emerged as a major global economic and trade power and its predicted to become the world’s largest economy. The global economy crisis tha began in 2008 greatly affected China’s economy, GDP growth downturned and millions of Chinese workers lost their jobs. Economic model that worked so well during the early years of China’s development now needs to be changed. It’s one of the main challenges for the new Chinese leaders. China’s once-in-decade transition to a new generation of leaders took place at the 18th Party Congress in November 2012. At the 18th Party Congress the fifth generation of leaders came to power. In this article Author argues that China faces daunting challenges and China is on the “crossroads”. The main goal of the article is to identify key challenges that China faces today. Author argues that China has far bigger challenges that slowing economy. Those challenges are: inequality, environment, rising expectations, demographics, corruption and others. Under the new leadership of president Xi Jinping, a quiet process of reform is under way in China. If successful, it will transform the country’s politics and the way its approaches the world. China’s political, economic and foreign policy over the next decades is not only fundamental to the country but also to the wider Asia-Pacifi c region and, increasingly, the world beyond

During this structural change, the central bank of the People’s Republic of China departed the ministry and became a separate entity. The People’s Bank of China was formally established as the central bank in 1983 by the State Council. As a result of the reforms of Deng Xiaoping China underwent a change of monobank system to two-tier banking system. Moreover, the function of the People’s Bank of China as a central bank was formally confirmed in 1995 when the third Plenum of the National People’s Congress adopted The Law of the People’s Republic of China on the People’s Bank of China. The China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) is the supervisor of the financial institutions in the People’s Republic of China. The central government established this institution in March 2003. The State Council is the leadership of the CBRC.
