Conductance control of a shunt active power filter and active energy buffer
Get PDFThere are many types of control method for shunt active power filter (SAPF) investigated up until now. The authors describe complex methods of determining active filter reference currents or powers. This paper is dedicated to a simple, but universally used control algorithm based on the load equivalent conductance approach. This method allows for non-active current compensation, energy buffering, and energy redistribution among loads under compensation. It is also useful for voltage-source as current source inverter based active filters, and for DC system as well as for AC single or three-phase filters

He centered his original ideas on visions of his works which he put down on paper in an unconstrained manner as sketches and drawings. Le Corbusier proved that drawing and painting can be used as support for and in collaboration with the architectural design process in pursuit of an architecture that would satisfy the user’s need for aesthetic value and appeal to their senses. He introduced the two into the design process leaving behind abundant documentation
The role of the CFD modelling in the shape optimization of the pressure pulsations dampers
Get PDFPressure pulsations in volumetric compressors systems have an important influence on the compression power and reliability. This problem occurs not only in huge compressor systems, as in the natural gas piping, in gas mines or national transport systems, but also in a small refrigeration compressors in domestic applications. Nowadays, it is necessary to develop pressure pulsation damping elements which will be effective for different mass flow rate values. One of the solutions are passive damping elements in the form of various types of nozzles. In addition to the decrease of pressure pulsations value, the result is also an increase in power consumption of the compression. Therefore, shape optimization is necessary. In the article the possibility of optimizing the shape of such elements using computational simulations is discussed

Get PDFThe aim of the article is to present the individual and intense experience of sensing the world, whose account can be found in the novel Salt of the Earth. The term “religious experience” was taken from William James. The author of the article first mentions the interpretative difficulties connected with the structural irony, which calls into question the statements verbalized in the novel. Taking into account this complexity, he points out four elements which justify talking about a religious experience in the Salt of the Earth. Firstly, he points up the title, which evokes a religious perception of the world and assumes a response to a calling which comes from God. Secondly, he refers to the Prologue (which does not contain structural irony), which contains the motif of war as a blasphemy. Thirdly, he analyses those passages in which the narrator weakens their distance towards Piotr Niewiadomski’s point of view and favourably assumes the magical interpretation of natural phenomena. Lastly, he refers to the Christian-Orphic-Hutsul motif of the immortality of the soul and contact with the dead

Considering the relation of French contemporary writers to the gaze, the traditional duality of the text as discursive chain and the image as sensible fragment is compromised. In order to conceive of a new form of text-image relationship, Jacques Rancière has introduced the concept of the sentence-image. In this article, I explore the limits of the sentence-image in order to think through the whys and wherefores of the reconfigurations within the central categories of the visible and the sayable. From this perspective, the dialogue between writing and cinema can no longer be conceived in terms of correspondence or influence. Rather, the synthetic dimension of the literary narrative is determined by its availability to incorporate the narrative devices updated by the art of film
