Application of zeolites for the adsorptive biogas desulfurization
The article presents the issue of adsorptive removal of hydrogen sulphide from biogas using zeolite. Based on literature data, comparing performance of the biogas desulphurisation process for various mineral adsorbents, eg. activated carbon, zeolites and metal oxides, was carried out. The efficiency of biogas desulphurisation by adsorption on zeolites is significantly lower than for the activated carbons. Therefore, this article presents opportunities for improving efficiency desulphurization by modifying the structure of adsorbents
An Evaluation of Delamination in Composite Structures by Cooling Down Thermography (CDT): Numerical Studies
This paper is devoted to numerical studies of composite structures with delaminations made with the use of CDT. Analysis of temperature distribution provides the opportunity to determine the geometry of subsurface defects. Results confirm the validity of the FE model in comparison to previous experimental investigations

Urbanity of a city – the dream of the past
In this article the Author makes an attempt at characterizing the notion of urbanity of a city and its significance for maintaining, revitalizing and shaping – today and in the future – of an urban spatial structure. He states that the characteristic feature of a developed area exhibiting an urban character is the occurrence of public spaces – places favouring public (social) use, offering an attractive functional programme, attracting users. Places which stand out in the area of the city thanks to the characteristic properties of their forms, creating easily identifiable sequences of spaces in the city, exhibiting a desirable human scale of development and urban interiors formed by it. Places exhibiting distinct identity features, thanks to maintaining, adopting or creating contemporary interpretation of the tradition of the place and the historic heritage of the material culture. Places which stand out with their attractive, diversified forms of architecture, the richness of shapes, details, colours, picturesqueness of the atmosphere created by them
Numerical Simulation of Viscoelastic Fluid Flow in Stirred Vessels
In this work, a tool for calculating viscoelastic flows with rotating geometries in OpenFOAM based on the finite-volume method is presented. The tool combines the split-stress tensor approach and viscoelastic differential constitutive equations with the sliding-mesh technique. With this tool, a CFD simulation was run for a geometry of a spherical stirrer in an aqueous solution of carboxyl cellulose. Additionally, a rheological characterisation of that solution was conducted. For validation, the simulations were compared with flow field data acquired through particle image velocimetry measurements
Stabilising feedback in Max-Plus linear models of discrete processes
This article relates to a synthesising output feedback that is used to control a network of discrete events. The feedback stabilises the system without reducing its initial throughput and its synthesis is mainly based on the theory of residues and the Kleene operator. This article suggests some theoretical results and mathematical foundations of max-plus algebra theory, and in particularly, discusses various other aspects of controlling discrete processes and their modelling in the context of a linear max-plus system
Mobile Pilot-Plant for the Evaluation of Novel Scrubbing Liquids for the Absorption of CO2 from Industrial Gases
Most available scrubbing liquids suffer from either high heating duties for the regeneration or vulnerability towards gas components. In order to increase the efficiency of the absorption process a novel scrubbing liquid has been developed by thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions AG. For verifying relevance and feasibility of long-term operation of the new fluid assumptions for installation were created – conceptual design and detailed simulation of the process without detailed thermodynamic information
