    The Moodle platform’s Lesson module as an example of effective e-learning

    In the era of distance communication, areas such as education can try to find a place in the digital world. The possibility of distance learning, due to widespread access to the Internet, can provide valuable educational activities without the necessity for the student to leave their home. A perfect example of this approach is the module ‘Lesson’ contained within the Moodle platform. This allows not only the opportunity to present attractive knowledge but also the possibility for student evaluation on an ongoing basis whilst they are still learning. This functionality is one of the most dynamic components of the platform – it enables two-way interactivity between teacher and student

    Natural and artificial shapes, and their interpretation

    The aim of the following article is to find the relation between natural and man-made shape (especially in architecture and its surroundings), which, in a more distant perspective, allows to draw up and develop measuring methods for interpretation of real forms by man and move the process onto a computer. A computer programme requires precise tasks and particular data, hence the attempt to systematize the rules, which govern shapes and their reception. The search involves both source rules, such as geometry and mathematics, but also the psychological side of reading shapes by humans. The author, referring to authorities in the field of psychology in architecture, explains the rules of perception, which, even though they concern humans, are being translated to rules that would facilitate the creation of an algorithm, which could read shapes in real space. The article is the beginning of further research of adapting the rules of human perception of outlines, edges and the course of a surface into the possibility of automatized reading of shapes by a computer

    This paper presents an analysis of the synchronization process of the high-power, two-speed synchronous motor out of over synchronous speed. A method of increasing the effectiveness of synchronization by applying a change system of polarization of the field circuit supply DC voltage is proposed. The process of synchronization from the stator supply voltage is also analyzed. The influence of the periodic reduction value of the supply voltages on the synchronization processes was also investigated. The proposed synchronization method can be applied during the synchronization processes of line start permanent magnet synchronous motors with a two-stage start-up

    The occurrence of selected hypolipidemic drugs in the aquatic environment

    The paper is part of a series of publications discussing the prevalence of pharmaceuticals in the aquatic environment. The paper presents two groups of hypolipidemic drugs (lipid regulators) and their basic parameters. A review of the literature on the occurrence of these compounds in wastewater, surface water and groundwater was made. According to the literature, the presence of various lipid regulators in raw water entering water treatment plants poses a real threat of their penetration into the water supply system, and consequently, to public water intended for human consumption

One line depicting the building has a huge narrative potential and that one line can communicate more and much more thoroughly than whole loads of paper full of verbal description, or than even the most suggestive pantomimic show. In my opinion, an architectural drawing is for architecture what musical notation system is for a musical work. It is a code that enables to move a piece of work in time and space. It tells about the architecture beyond linguistic barriers

    Digestate Treatment Techniques

    Even though digestate is rich in plant nutrients, its value as a fertiliser is low due to its high water content of 90 to 95%. Therefore, the main objective of digestate treatment is to extract clean water in order to concentrate the plant nutrients. These are either in solution or attached to organic particles. Roughly, more than 70% of the digestate’s solid particles are smaller than 1 mm and are not easily separated, because of particle size, charge and density. This is one of the reasons why a simple screen separation provides no solution to the problem; however, it is an important step in the treatment chain. During the research project, many different digestate treatment techniques were considered – all of these are recorded in Figure 10. This article provides an overview of the possible techniques for digestate treatment, how they work, and their central research parameters
