Automotive Catalyst Production – Challenges for Chemical Engineers
The goal of this paper is to explain the chemical engineering backgrounds for operations participating on catalyst production in the automotive industry. It is shown that chemical engineering knowledge can help to a better understanding and optimisation of the production process. Besides the contribution mentioned above this paper brings the description of the up to date and interesting technology developed and patented by the worldwide leader in the chemical engineering - BASF. The car catalyst production process consists of two steps. Firstly, the coating slurry is produced and secondly, it is applied to the substrate. Direct determination of periodic solution in the time domain for electromechanical converters
The main aim of this paper is to identify relationships for direct determination in the time domain of periodic steady-state solutions for differential equations. A new discrete operator of differentiating has been defined. As a result, a set of algebraic equations has been written. Based on this, an algorithm for nonlinear differential equations has been proposed. Numerical tests have been carried out both for a new discrete operator and for steady-state analysis in a simple electromechanical converter

Mediation in architectural drawing and its teaching
Mediation in architectural drawing and its teaching, and in general in art and didactics, is a phenomenon that occurs constantly but with different intensity and at different periods of time. Then, the meta- prefix appears and we obtain ‘meta-art’, ‘meta-drawing’, etc. The article covers this issue in relation to the ever wider use of computers in present times. Due to external determinants it is sometimes perceived as pejorative; however, it does not necessarily have to be true. In this work the author analyses the above-mentioned phenomena in reference to manifold criteria of defining and the description of architectural drawing, as well as on the basis of theories concerning designing. Simultaneously, an attempt is made to include these ponderings and conclusions in an outline of the theory of choice that the author is currently elaborating. The theory assumes the possibility of a positive assessment of mutually contradictory theories, which, paradoxically, might lead to interesting results in the sphere of didactics
Architecture as backdrop and inspiration in the works of Peter Behrens and Oskar Schlemmer
The scope of the research is the relationship between architecture and the performing arts and their transformation in the works of Peter Behrens in the Darmstadt Artists’ Colony Mathildenhöhe and Oskar Schlemmer’s later Bauhaus-Bühne in Weimar and Dessau. The stage concepts were compared with the model “Haus Behrens” and “Haus am Horn”, with theoretical underpinning of the source text. The result of the study is a scheme illustrating a gradual evolution of architecture and scene arts at the beginning of the 20th century
Studies of the permanent magnet dc machine
A hybrid drive of an unmanned aerial vehicle uses two mechanically coupled drives. In one of the drives, an electrical machine is used. Its role is not only limited to a motoring operation, e.g. during achieving the flight ceiling. The electric machine changes its operation into generating after reaching the flight ceiling, this allows not only meeting current electrical energy demands but also battery recharging. This paper presents the results of laboratory tests of a BLDC machine in motoring and generating operation. Mechanical characteristics of the motor for different supply voltages and external characteristics for generator were determined. The possible energy conversion efficiencies for both motoring and generating operations were determined

This paper discusses the results of numerical simulations of unsteady heat flow in a concrete rod. The temperature distributions obtained are compared with experimental results. The main goal of this paper is to find soil thermal parameters values for concrete which leads to obtaining the best correlation between the measured and calculated temperatures
