Perceptions of Indonesian College Students about Offline and Online TOEFL ITP Preparation Class
Due to college students’ mobility nowadays (e.g. joining Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka program) that allows students to be off campus for a time, some learning processes have to be conducted online. The objective of this study was to investigate how students at an Indonesian college perceived the conduct of online and offline TOEFL ITP preparation classes. Participants in this study were 47 students at an Indonesian private college who completed the TOEFL ITP preparation course. Data collection and data analysis were designed with a mixed-method approach. An online questionnaire with closed and open-ended questions was administered for data collection. The framework used in this study was the Community of Inquiry (CoI). The data obtained was analyzed by practicing qualitative and quantitative approaches as well to gain the participants’ deeper insights into the issue. The participants believed that social, cognitive, and teaching presence could be established in both face-to-face and online learning settings despite their higher preference for offline classes, especially in social presence. Furthermore, it was known that the participants’ preference for teaching methods was in line with the methodology that their instructors carried out. The matter was in the different instructions that they had during online and offline sessions. Implications for teachers are to make sure the learning process can be conducted by establishing a social presence, cognitive presence, and teaching presence
Pre-Service Teacher' Perceptions of Generative AI: Dependency, Effect, and Ethics
This study investigates pre-service teachers’ dependency on Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI), their perceptions of its effects, and their awareness of academic ethics. Employing a descriptive quantitative research design, data were collected through an online questionnaire adapted from Chan & Hu (2023) and the Indonesian Ministry of Education’s Guidebook on GenAI Usage (2024). The study involved 100 pre-service teachers from the English Education Study Program, with 46 valid responses. The results indicate that while most participants are uncertain about their dependency on GenAI, many acknowledge its benefits in saving time, providing unique insights, and offering personalized feedback. However, concerns remain regarding its impact on digital competence, social interaction, teamwork, critical thinking, and leadership skills. Additionally, perceptions of GenAI’s effect on problem-solving skills are evenly divided. In terms of academic ethics, more than half of the respondents are unsure whether using GenAI undermines ethical values. Nonetheless, most pre-service teachers report that they rewrite AI-generated content in their style and provide references. Given the high level of uncertainty in responses, this study highlights the need for universities and lecturers to provide clearer and more intensive guidance on responsible GenAI usage. Future research should explore its impact on academic skill development and employ alternative research designs for deeper insights
Pengaruh Media Sosial, Hubungan Masyarakat, dan Persepsi Kualitas terhadap Citra Institusi melalui Kepuasan Pelanggan sebagai Variabel Intervening pada Badan Pelindungan Pekerja Migran Indonesia
This study aims to analyze the influence of social media, public relations, and service quality on the institutional image of BP2MI (Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Agency) through user satisfaction. Institutional image refers to public perception of an organization’s performance, which is crucial in building public trust and enhancing BP2MI's ability to carry out its duties and functions. In recent years, the number of complaints from migrant workers has increased, indicating persistent issues in protection and services provided by BP2MI. Therefore, this research employs a quantitative approach with a survey method targeting BP2MI service users to examine the extent to which the independent variables (social media, public relations, and service quality) affect the dependent variable (institutional image) mediated by satisfaction. The findings reveal that social media, public relations, and service quality significantly influence user satisfaction, which in turn shapes a positive institutional image. This study recommends enhancing public communication strategies and developing more adaptive digital services to increase user satisfaction and strengthen the agency’s image
Efektivitas Iklan di Radar TV Lampung oleh PT. Marionsam Terhadap Keputusan Membeli Konsumen
This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of advertisements broadcast on Radar TV Lampung by PT. Marionsam on consumer purchasing decisions. In the digital era, marketing through advertising has become very important, especially for Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) who have to compete with local and imported products. The method used in this research is a quantitative method, using a questionnaire, the data management tool in this research uses SPSS. The research results show that effective advertising can increase consumer buying interest, with an average purchasing decision value reaching 10.67 and a standard deviation of 2.83. In addition, online advertising and media variables also show a significant contribution to purchasing decisions, with average values of 10.48 and 8.83 respectively. This research confirms that the right advertising strategy can increase consumer satisfaction and encourage purchasing decisions. The conclusion of this research is the importance of utilizing technology and digital platforms as well as TV advertising in marketing strategies to reach a wider market
MODERN LEADERSHIP APPROACH: DIGITAL LEADERSHIP IN THE COMPLEXITY OF THE DIGITAL AGE
The complexity of the digital age has changed the business landscape and demanded organizations to transform profoundly. A modern leadership approach known as digital leadership is essential to managing this dynamic. Digital leadership refers to the ability of leaders to leverage digital technology to create innovation, drive organizational change, and maintain competitiveness in the global market. This approach involves a combination of technical competence, adaptability, and managerial skills to manage human resources, technology, and a dynamic business environment. This study reveals that digital leadership plays a key role in driving innovation, accelerating digital transformation, and creating resilient and sustainable organizations. The study also highlights the importance of integrating digital leadership in organizational strategies to create an adaptive, inclusive, and customer-oriented work culture. This study recommends the development of training and development programs to equip leaders with relevant competencies, the adoption of agile work methodologies, and the application of data analytics as the basis for strategic decision-making. Digital leadership is not only a solution to the challenges of the digital era, but also a catalyst for transformation to create an organization that is ready to face the future. 
Sosialisasi Aplikasi W-JAR sebagai Solusi Persiapan Ujian Kompetensi Keahlian Teknik Komputer Jaringan di SMK Al Amien Kota Kediri
Sekolah menengah kejuruan (SMK) adalah salah satu jenjang pendidikan menengah yang mengutamakan pengembangan siswa untuk melaksanakan jenis pekerjaan tertentu. Pada pelaksanaan ujian kompetensi khususnya keahlian teknik komputer jaringan seringkali peserta didik khususnya di SMK Al Amien mengalami kesulitan dalam menghadapi ujian kompetensi keahlian. Hal ini disebabkan karena kurangnya persiapan, kurangnya pemahaman terhadap teori, keterbatasan fasilitas praktik, keterbatasan waktu pada praktik atau workshop langsung disekolah dan lain sebagainya. Aplikasi W-Jar adalah aplikasi berbasis website yang dikembangkan berdasarkan kebutuhan siswa untuk mempersiapkan ujian kompetensi. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini adalah untuk mengimplementasikan dan melakukan sosialisasi penggunaan aplikasi W-Jar kepada siswa. Metode kegiatan sosialisasi ini terbagi 2 tahapan yaitu pra sosialisasi dan sosialisasi. Hasil dari sosialiasi menunjukkan sebesar 87% (sangat baik) siswa terbantu dalam penggunaan aplikasi W-Jar sebagai pendamping dalam proses belajar mempersiapkan Ujian Kompetensi Keahlian (UKK). Rencana pengembangan lebih lanjut adalah dapat menambahkan fitur baru serta dilakukan penerapan aplikasi W-Jar untuk program keahlian yang lain.Sekolah menengah kejuruan (SMK) adalah salah satu jenjang pendidikan menengah yang mengutamakan pengembangan siswa untuk melaksanakan jenis pekerjaan tertentu. Aplikasi W-Jar adalah aplikasi berbasis website yang dikembangkan berdasarkan kebutuhan siswa untuk mempersiapkan ujian kompetensi. Untuk mengimplementasikan aplikasi W-Jar kepada siswa perlu adanya kegiatan sosialiasi dalam penggunaan serta pemanfaatan aplikasi sebagai alat bantu dalam mempersiapkan uji kompetensi secara maksimal. Kegiatan sosialisasi ini terbagi 2 tahapan yaitu pra sosialisasi dan sosialisasi. Siswa dapat menggunakan aplikasi W-Jar sebagai pendamping proses belajar untuk persiapan ujian kompetensi dimanapun dan kapanpun siswa ingin belajar
Kepuasan Buruh Perkebunan Kelapa Sawit Terhadap Keberlanjutan Program Kemitraan Inti Plasma
The research problem addresses the level of satisfaction among palm oil plantation workers regarding the sustainability of the core plasma partnership program. This study is urgent due to the need to enhance workers' welfare and productivity, ensuring the program's long-term success. The research evaluates worker satisfaction across various attributes within the partnership framework. Using a quantitative and descriptive approach, the study was conducted purposively in Mesuji, Lampung, to understand the local context. Respondents were selected through snowball random sampling, totaling 60 participants. Data collection methods included surveys, interviews, and observations, analyzed using the Labor Satisfaction Index (LSI) Framework. The results show that workers are satisfied with labor standards compliance, clarity of rights, fairness in result distribution, and a conducive working environment. However, they are only moderately satisfied with clarity of obligations, empowerment, participation in decision-making, and capacity development
Pengaruh Indeks Pembangunan Manusia Dan Pertumbuhan Ekonomi Terhadap Tingkat Pengangguran Di Provinsi Jawa Timur
Indonesia menjadi salah satu dari negara berkembang yang memiliki permasalahan berupa pengangguran terbuka. Di Provinsi Jawa Timur meskipun dalam beberapa tahun terakhir pertumbuhan ekonomi menunjukkan tren positif dan IPM cenderung meningkat, tingkat pengangguran masih menjadi persoalan. Hal ini menimbulkaan pertanyaan mengenai seberapa besar pengaruh IPM dan pertumbuhan ekonomi terhadap tingkat pengangguran di provinsi ini. Studi ini memiliki maksud untuk mengetahui indeks pembangunan manusia dan pertumbuhan ekonomi terhadap pengangguran yang ada di Provinsi Jawa Timur. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan regresi linear berganda dengan metode OLS (Ordinary Least Square) dengan bantuan Eviews 12. Penelitian ini menggunakan data sekunder yang bersumber dari Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) Jawa Timur. Hasil studi memaparkan bahwa indeks pembangunan manusia mempunyai dampak negatif kepada pengangguran dan pertumbuhan ekonomi juga memiliki dampak negatif terhadap pengangguran yang ditemukan di Provinsi Jawa Timur Tahun 2010-2024
Kompetensi, Pengembangan, Dan Motivasi Terhadap Kinerja Pegawai Pada Sekretariat DPRD Kabupaten Tulungagung
Organisasi atau instansi baik pemerintah maupun swasta harus bisa meningkatkan kualitas kinerja pegawai yang dimiliki. Jika jasa yang diterima atau dirasakan (perceived service) sesuai dengan yang diharapkan, maka kualitas kinerja dipersepsikan baik dan memuaskan, jika jasa yang diterima melampaui harapan konsumen, maka kualitas kerja dipersepsikan sangat baik dan berkualitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan: (1) Mengetahui dan menganalisis kompetensi, pengembangan, dan motivasi secara simultan berpengaruh terhadap kinerja pegawai, (2) Mengetahui dan menganalisis kompetensi secara parsial berpengaruh terhadap kinerja pegawai terhadap kinerja pegawai, (3) Mengetahui dan menganalisis pengembangan secara parsial berpengaruh terhadap kinerja pegawai terhadap kinerja pegawai, (4) Mengetahui dan menganalisis motivasi secara parsial berpengaruh terhadap kinerja pegawai dimasa terhadap kinerja pegawai, (5) Mengetahui dan menganalisis variabel kompetensi, pengembangan, dan motivasi manakah yang paling berpengaruh dominan terhadap kinerja pegawai. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis kuantitatif yaitu analisis terhadap data yang telah diberi skor sesuai dengan skala pengukuran yang telah ditetapkan dengan menggunakan formula-formula statistik. Analisis yang digunakan terhadap data yang berwujud angka-angka. Sedangkan uji kualitas menggunakan (1) Analisis Statistik Deskriptif, (2) Analisis Verifikatif. (3) Uji Asumsi Klasik (4) Analisis Regresi Berganda, dan (5) Pengujian Hipotesis, (6) Analisis Koefisien Determinasi (R2)Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Kompetensi, Pengembangan, dan Motivasi secara simultan mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kinerja pegawai, (2) Kompetensi secara parsial mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kinerja pegawai, (3) Pengembangan secara parsial mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kinerja pegawai, (4) Motivasi secara parsial mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kinerja pegawai, (5) Kompetensi mempunyai pengaruh yang paling dominan terhadap kinerja pegawai
Analisis Kompetensi Guru Dan Lingkungan Madrasah Terhadap Motivasi Belajar Siswa MTsN 1 Kota Blitar
The success of the goal of education in madrasah depends on the educational resources owned. Madrasah which is a religious-based educational institution has complex and abundant resources. This study aims: (1) To analyze teacher competence partially influencing the learning motivation of students of MTsN 1 Kota Blitar. (2) To analyze the madrasah environment partially influencing the learning motivation of students of MTsN 1 Kota Blitar. (3) To analyze teacher competence and madrasah environment simultaneously influencing the learning motivation of students of MTsN 1 Kota Blitar. (4) To analyze the variables of teacher competence and madrasah environment that have a dominant influence on the learning motivation of students of MTsN 1 Kota Blitar. This study uses a quantitative analysis method, namely analysis of data that has been scored according to the measurement scale that has been determined using statistical formulas. The analysis used is data in the form of numbers. While the quality test uses (1) Descriptive statistical analysis, (2) Verification analysis. (3) Classical assumption test (4) Multiple regression analysis, and (5) Hypothesis testing, (6) Determination Coefficient Analysis (R2). The results of the study indicate that: (1) Teacher Competence partially has a significant influence on Student Learning Motivation at MTsN 1 Kota Blitar. (2) Madrasah Environment partially has a significant influence on Student Learning Motivation at MTsN 1 Kota Blitar. (3) Teacher Competence and Madrasah Environment simultaneously have a significant influence on Student Learning Motivation at MTsN 1 Kota Blitar. (4) Teacher Competence has the most dominant influence on Student Learning Motivation at MTsN 1 Kota Blitar
