絵画学習のワークショップ化に関する事例研究 ―絵が描けない人のためのインクルーシブアート教育の方法論から―
Get PDFapplication/pdftext本稿は、絵画の初学者のための学習方法とその背景にあるコンセプトを明らかにすることを目的とする。通常、アカデミックな絵画学習では見えるものをそのまま再現する写実的な技法を習得させるために、形態を捉え、色彩（色調）を合わせる造形的な学習を段階的進めていくのだが、絵が苦手もしくは描きたくても思うように描けない人には技能優先主義は不適切である。筆者は、絵画基礎実習I（入門）の授業をワークショップ化し、美術（アート）が技能ではなく考えること（思考）の身体知であることを体験的に伝え、絵画初学者の概念崩しをさまざまな方法で試みた。本稿はその実践の分析であり、絵画（芸術）の学習を通したものの見方の全体性の重要性を学ぶ報告である。departmental bulletin pape
【研究ノート】コミュニティキャピタルとしての〈地域の居場所〉の展開・序論
Get PDFapplication/pdftext近年各地で創られつつある〈地域の居場所〉を、流動性の高い現代社会において、対話に基づいたコミュニティを形成する場として捉えた。そして、そうした場が地域内に多数展開することで、地域におけるコミュニティキャピタルとして機能すると捉えた。この認識のもと、近年、東京都文京区において〈地域の居場所〉が3つの経緯で誕生している様子を紹介した。一つは、文京区の新しい公共プロジェクト、もう一つは文京区社会福祉協議会の地域福祉コーディネーターの配置である。また、これとは別に、都市の産業構造の転換のなかで、民間事業者による〈地域の居場所〉づくりが容易になっている点についても指摘した。それらの動きを踏まえ、こうした〈地域の居場所〉が一定の地域内に多数存在することで、全体として地域において「緩い」コミュニティが形成されることを指摘した。ただし、本稿は筆者のここ数年の体験に基づいた状況の記述に留まり、〈地域の居場所〉のコミュニティキャピタルとしての可能性についての本格的な議論については今後の課題である。departmental bulletin pape
Chiseling Democracy: Meta Warrick Fuller and the Sculpture of Emancipation
Get PDFapplication/pdftextThis article explores American sculptor Meta Warrick Fuller’s activism in her early works: Emancipation (1913), In Memory of Mary Turner (1920), and Ethiopia Awakening (or Ethiopia, 1921). In progressive America, hostility between races severely undermined democracy. Lynching threatened African American lives on a daily basis. Amid racial violence, black intellectuals, such as Henry Tanner and Paul Dunbar, earned international fame and destabilized the racial hierarchy. W. E. B. Du Bois called them the Talented Tenth and expected them to “save” the race from plight. I argue that Fuller, one of the Talented Tenth, was not only a civil activist who renewed stereotyped black images, but also a sculptor who challenged dysfunctional American democracy by reconstructing a narrative of African American freedom and inspiring later generations through art.
