Designing and Developing Smart Plant Information System
Pandemic COVID-19 have impacted the way of life of all people in the world. The effect continues worsened when our government-imposed lockdowns and every people need to stay home. Due to too long of staying at home, boredom become one of the most reported negative psychological effects of the quarantine. It is undeniable that people of all ages enjoy gardening and planting. Hence, this pandemic time can be a golden opportunity for people to get outside of their compound and grow their interest in gardening. Thus, this project is designed to introduce the basic knowledge of plantations in easier and effective way. The system is applicable for multiple users who tend to learn more about plants and its plantation methods. Both men and women can start their own garden with proper planting methods. This system has been developed using several modules such as the leaf recognition using convolutional neural network (CNN), plant disease advice using knowledge based expert system and plant information using chatbot. The leaf recognition using CNN module will help the user to recognize a plant by providing the plant’s leaf image. The plant disease advice will diagnose the certain disease a plant might have by calculating the confidence level of provided symptoms of the disease. Finally, the plant information using chatbot module will provide information about plants by answering the user’s questions. It is hoped that this system could serve as the best smart plant information system to the user
Analysis of the Interaction Torque on the Arm Based on Via-Point Movement
To produce a desired movement, the human motor control system must regular the interaction torque generated owing to the multi-joint structure of the body. In this study, the trajectories of human movements were evaluated considering the interaction torque generated through the elbow and shoulder joints. Measurement experiments were conducted, in which the participants performed movements corresponding to a three-point task, and the results indicated that the interaction torque is correlated with certain characteristics of the trajectories of the arm movements. Moreover, the contribution of the interaction torque in realizing the task differs in the cases of dominant and non-dominant hands. In addition, through a simulation, the interaction torque of simulated trajectories was modulated to examine the corresponding effect on the arm movements. For a point-to-point movement, certain characteristics of the actual movements were reproduced in the simulated trajectories. However, for a three-point movement, the characteristics of the simulated trajectories were only partially similar to those of the measured trajectories. The findings indicate that the interaction torque notably influences the motor control, and the tuning of the interaction torque is more complex than the other criteria of motor control
ASSESSING THE MEDIATION ROLE OF BRAND ATTACHMENT: AN EMPIRICAL STUDY AMONG TOURISTS IN MALAYSIA
Abstract. The purpose of this article is to explore the relationship of hotel attributes on consumers' satisfaction and revisit intention through mediation of brand attachment. The stimulus-organism-response (SOR) theory is utilized in the study to examine the relationships between the constructs. To validate the research model and hypotheses, the study used a partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) approach. The empirical evidence was collected from 474 Malaysian tourist. The results showed that brand attachment mediates the relationship between hotel attributes and satisfaction as well as revisit intention. In addition, the indirect effect of hotel attributes on revisit intention through brand attachment and satisfaction sequentially are also supported. This paper attempt to offers new insights into how brand attachment influences the relationship between hotel attributes and satisfaction as well as revisit intention. This study determined that hotels should consider the importance of brand such as brand attachment in developing sustainable marketing tactics. These findings might support practitioners and decision makers to focus on brand related functions that could be utilized to achieve competitive advantage. The Potential of Dark Tourism for Malaysian Tourism Industry: A Review
This is conceptual research on the potential of dark tourism as a new product in Malaysia. This is important because tourism industry is one of the largest earning sectors in Malaysia. However, Malaysia needs to offer a new product beside usual one relates to Friendly and Halal Country, Health tourism etc. This concept has grown widely in the West, Europe and even Australia. It may sound bad because it involves tragedies, disasters, violent and any dark side under the umbrella of heritage tourism context. Then, the objective of this research is important to review the potential of the concept of dark tourism as a new product in Malaysia. This product will enliven the local history or local stories which are ignored or abandoned or forgotten and even will be preserved as tangible and intangible heritage legacy. This is a library research approach with expectation that Malaysia needs a new product for its sustainability on tourism industry where dark tourism is one possibility.
Prediction of Operating Temperature of Electronic Components on Printed Circuit Boards
The current study seeks to provide a perspective on the capabilities of the Laplace finite difference (LFD) method to predict operating temperatures of components of electronic systems. This paper presents a systematic assessment of the predictive accuracy of thermal analysis using LFD code for heat transfer of components mounted on a printed circuit board (PCB). The numerical algorithm is implemented in MATLAB that provides an estimate of the computational effort. The analysis methodology is presented using a case study. Using this methodology, a large calculation time reduction is achieved without losing accuracy. Results show that the predicted values were less than the given limit of 9 degrees Celsius. Accuracy of predicting component operating temperature depends on the component location on the PCB, air-flow velocity and flow model applied. Experimental measurement of component junction temperatures is recommended to enable a comparison between simulated values and actual measurements. The error estimated from the difference between measured temperature values and simulated values can help in strategic product design decisions and reliability predictions. The error estimate converges to zero after about 7 iterations as the predicted temperature converges to the theoretical temperature. Thus, the temperature profile is accurately predicted with the help of the proposed LFD-based algorithm
