The Effect of using Nearpod on Students’ Reading Comprehension and Students’ Participation in Studying English
No full textThis research investigated the effect of using Nearpod on Students’ Reading Comprehension and Students’ Participation during the English learning process. The objectives were to analyze the significance of Nearpod's impact on students' reading comprehension, assess the magnitude of this impact, and evaluate students' participation during the learning sessions. The methodology employed quasi-experimental design with non-equivalent control groups, involving both experimental and control groups. Data collection included pre-tests, post-tests, and questionnaires. The research targeted was Grade 9 students. The research utilized objective tests comprising 20 items and questionnaires as instruments. The findings indicated a positive effect of Nearpod on students' reading comprehension, albeit with a small effect size. Moreover, students demonstrated active participation during learning sessions using Nearpod. Therefore, the researcher recommends that teacher employ Nearpod as a tool to teach reading comprehension and to attract the students’ active participation in learning process

This exercise involves instructors in an interactive and collaborative learning process utilizing Participatory Action Research (PAR) methodologies. This program encompasses workshops on technology-based learning media, assistance in creating digital teaching materials, and sessions for sharing experiences. The results of this activity revealed that tutors exhibited enhanced confidence in employing technology to augment student motivation and engagement. EXPOSURE THERAPY FOR FLASH FLOOD DISASTER VICTIMS
No full textThe aftermath of the flash flood that occurred in Nagari Rambatan left trauma for the victims, the victims experienced psychological impacts where they were still worried about the subsequent flash flood disaster, then felt restless sleeping at night because they were still haunted by the incident they experienced, felt anxious and some even became stressed and traumatized. This Community Service aims to eliminate the anxiety and trauma of the flash flood victims. The method of implementing this service is by conducting observations, interviews and providing exposure therapy. The use of direct exposure therapy techniques, by facing stimuli that cause anxiety in actual conditions when they are still haunting and as if the threat of flash floods will come back. To overcome this, it can be helped using Virtual Reality (VR) head mounted display technology which can display three-dimensional images generated by a computer on each eye to display a stereo effect, thus creating an immersive or feeling of being present as an illusion in a virtual environment

No full textThis study aims to determine The Impact of Earning Per Share, Net Profit Margin, Debt to Equity Ratio, Return on Equity and Company Size on Share Prices (Case Study of Retail Sub-Sector Companies Listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the 2017-2021 period. This research uses associative methods and panel data regression analysis techniques assisted by the eviews program, which includes panel data analysis testing as well as partial tests (t test) and simultaneous tests (F test) with a significant level (α) = 5 percent. First, the regression coefficient of the EPS variable (X1) has a value of 0.218562 and a statistical value of 2.617404 > ttable of 1.983264 with a probability value of 0.0107 0.05, the decision is H0 accepted Ha is rejected Third, the regression coefficient of the DER variable (X3) is 8.581988 and the statistical value is -0.993496 0.05 then the decision is H0 accepted Ha rejected. Fourth, the regression coefficient of the variable Return on Equity (X4) has a value of -0.031676 and a statistical value of -1.156080 0.05, so the decision is that H0 is accepted, Ha is rejected. Fifth, the regression coefficient of the variable firm size (X5) is 24.77041 and a statistical value of 0.915946 0.05, so the decision is H0 accepted, Ha is rejected. Sixth, the results of the EPS, NPM, DER, ROE hypothesis testing, and firm size with a Fcount of 3.657300 > Ftable of 2.461698 with a probability of 0.000003 <0.05, the decision is H0 is rejected Ha is accepted. So it can be concluded that simultaneously EPS, NPM, DER, ROE and company size have an impact on stock price

Investigating the Students’ Challenges and Opportunities in Self-Directed English Language Learning Through Social Media Content: A Case Study of Merdeka Curriculum School
No full textThis study examines the challenges and opportunities encountered by students in self-directed English language learning through social media content within the framework of Merdeka Curriculum schools. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with five junior high school students using a qualitative approach. The thematic content analysis reveals several key challenges, such as difficulties selecting appropriate content, distractions from non-academic material, and a lack of guidance. However, students also identified important opportunities, such as flexible learning times and places, increased motivation, access to various resources, and opportunities to interact with native speakers and peers from different backgrounds. The results of this study highlight the importance of more structured strategies and guidelines to help students effectively utilize social media in English language learning
TEACHERS’ PERCEPTION ON THE USE OF ALTERNATIVE ASSESSMENT IN INTERNATIONAL PRIMARY SCHOOL: BENEFITS AND OBSTACLES
No full textSince assessment is an essential component of education, various assessments, both short-term and long-term, can be used throughout or at the end of the learning process. Among these, alternative assessment becomes prominent to be applied. This study reveals the teachers’ views and experiences, the potential advantages, and challenges of implementing alternative assessment in primary international schools. Data were collected through open-ended questionnaire from international primary school teachers that have experienced more than 10 years. This study discovered four notable benefits and three notable challenges that have been deduced from the current theoretical framework. The benefits can be classified into four main categories: enhancing students' performance, catering to different learning styles and preferences, emphasizing process-oriented learning, and promoting motivation. The three obstacles are to the issues of subjectivity and trustworthiness, time limitations, and the selection of the suitable methodology. Alternative assessment is crucial as it offers a valuable opportunity to improve students' learning and should be implemented to allow students to strengthen their skills. Hence, it is imperative for EFL teachers to regard alternative assessment as a viable option for classroom assessment
Perancangan Sistem Informasi Pengelolaan Barang Laboratorium Komputer Berbasis Web SMKN 1 Sintuk Toboh Gadang
No full textAt SMKN 1 Sintuk Toboh Gadang, managing laboratory equipment was done manually or on paper, which had its disadvantages. The data was prone to tearing, getting wet, burning, or even disappearing. Therefore, a web-based laboratory item management system was designed using PHP modeling language. After beta testing and validation from experts, the system was found to have very good information with an average percentage value of 80.3%. The user assessment questionnaire also obtained an average value of 85.7% with very good information. This system is expected to prevent errors and serve as an evaluation material for the school
Historia Docet: Reconstructing Historical Consciousness in Secondary Education Through Multiperspectivity and Critical Discourse Analysis
No full textThis qualitative research investigates how multiperspectivity and critical discourse analysis can reconstruct historical consciousness among secondary school students in Indonesia. Conducted across five secondary institutions with 205 student participants and 15 educators, this study employs thematic analysis of interviews, classroom observations, and student essays to examine students' engagement with multiple historical narratives. The research reveals significant disparities in how different historical perspectives—nationalist, colonial-critical, subaltern, international, and gender-based—are integrated into curricula and student consciousness. Findings demonstrate that systematic implementation of multiperspective pedagogy increases critical historical thinking from 45% to 78% among participants, while evidence evaluation competency improves by 52%. The study concludes that Historia Docet—history teaches—requires institutional commitment to pedagogical pluralism, teacher professional development in critical discourse analysis, and curriculum redesign emphasizing narrative multiplicity. These findings have implications for Indonesian secondary education policy, suggesting that historical consciousness is not constructed through monolithic narratives but through iterative engagement with competing perspectives and evidence evaluation
PREDIKSI HARGA EMAS MENGGUNAKAN ALGORITMA LONG SHORT TERM MEMORY (LSTM) DAN LINEAR REGRESSION (LR)
No full textAmidst economic and political uncertainty, gold has a reputation for being a stable hedge. Its value is less likely to be affected by drastic market fluctuations, making it an attractive option for investors looking to reduce risk in their portfolio.In addition to its benefits as a safe haven asset and protection against inflation, gold investment also provides long-term benefits through portfolio diversification. Gold has a low correlation with other asset classes, such as stocks and bonds, providing additional protection against market fluctuations. But to invest in gold assets, you need to be precise about when to buy or sell. Due to the volatile nature of gold prices in the market. To be safer, if you want to invest in gold, you can take it for the long term. To help investors predict the price of gold, it can be done by utilizing deep learning. One of them uses Long Short Term Memory or by using the Linear Regression forecasting algorithm. In this study using gold price data taken from yahoo finance from January 01 2001 to January 01 2023 with a data ratio of 80:20 for training data and testing data. The research data obtained the RMSE value for the LSTM method 19.0951464 and the RMSE value for the LR method 209.832361. From the evaluation test results, the LSTM method obtained the lowest RMSE value. For further research we can make comparisons with different settings or with other forecasting algorithms
