    No full text
The implementation of the Village SDGs program is expected to improve the welfare of village communities. However, the large number of SDGs indicators means that the implementation of this program is not focused and does not get optimal results. This research aims to find out what factors in the Village SDGs program are important issues for the people of the Kepulauan Meranti district and how the performance of the Village SDGs program compares with the expectations of the people of the Kepulauan Meranti District. The theory used is the Theory of Sustainable Development by Jeffrey Sachs in 2015. The method used is cross-sectional quantitative analysis with factor analysis and importance performance analysis techniques. The respondents in this research were the people of Meranti Islands Regency, Riau Province, totaling 382 participants from each sub-district. The research results show that all variables in the Village SDGs program are priority factors and important problems for the people of Meranti Islands Regency, especially the SDGs (X1) program, namely the problem of poverty alleviation. The results of the important performance analysis show that the variables in quadrant I are X1, X6, X9, X12 and the variables in quadrant II are X2, X4, X5, X16. The variables in quadrant III are X8, X10, X11, X13, X15 and the variables in quadrant IV are X3, X7, X14, X17, X18. No full text
Indonesian language has an important role in conveying information clearly to the public and has a significant impact on strengthening national identity. This research is important because it provides insight into the extent to which online media journalists' competence in using Indonesian language can support efforts to strengthen national identity. This research aims to evaluate the competence of online media journalists in Riau in producing news using Indonesian. Researchers used a qualitative approach by conducting in-depth interviews with experienced journalists from various online media in Riau. Data was collected and analyzed to understand the practice of using Indonesian in the entire news writing process, from information search to final writing. The research results show that there is still a lack of optimization of the use of Indonesian language in writing online media news. Journalists tend to use regional languages in data collection in an effort to facilitate the operational stage. Meanwhile, in writing, an informal language style that is in line with everyday language is preferred to attract the attention of readers. These findings illustrate the role of Indonesian language in the context of strengthening national identity and highlight the need to increase the language competence of journalists in Riau

    No full text
The study was conducted to analyze the effect of ABA therapy on the language skills of autistic children: a psycholinguistic review. The cause of language disorders in autistic children is that there are nervous system disorders in the brain. Developmental disorders require further treatment in order to improve children's language skills. The method used was pre-experiment with one group pre-test and posttest design with statistical tests such as the Wilcoxon test. Analysis techniques using ABC (Antecedent, Behavior, Consequence) models with parameters of compliance, imitation skills, and establishing eye contact. The research was conducted in one of the training places for children with special needs in the city of Pekan Baru. The child population of 15 autistic children with eight children was sampled for language disorders. The development of the application of ABA therapy is carried out for three months. The results of the Wilcoxon sign rank test on the pre-test and posttest showed a significant increase in bye-bye, applause, spinning, and jumping activities with a significance value of 0.045. ABA therapy in autistic children is one of the behavioral therapies that focuses on handling the situation when the child is able to respond correctly. Through the application of ABA therapy, children are able to respond according to the instructions given by the therapist

Cultivating Ecological Awareness Through the Integration of Eco-Linguistic Themes in English for Specific Purposes: A Case Study of Higher Schools of Technology

    No full text
: In pursuit of bolstering environmental consciousness, the integration of Eco-linguistic themes into English for Specific Purposes (ESP) classes emerges as a crucial pedagogical strategy. This study aims to explore the potential merits of embedding ESP within environmental education curricula, particularly in Higher Schools of Technology (HST), with a specific focus on augmenting students' comprehension of intricate ecological concepts and nurturing a new cadre of environmentally aware professionals. Given the imperative for effective interdisciplinary communication in tackling environmental issues, ESP, tailored to the language needs of environmental science, policy, and conservation, offers promise in furnishing students with the specialized language proficiency essential for precise communication within the field. The research endeavors to assess the extent to which ESP aids HST students in grasping complex ecological concepts that often necessitate technical terminology and nuanced language usage. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the study combines qualitative scrutiny of curriculum design and instructional methodologies with quantitative evaluation of students' language proficiency and comprehension of ecological principles. Educational institutions integrating ESP into their environmental education programs will be chosen as case studies. Interviews with educators and students, coupled with language assessment data, will furnish insights into the efficacy of ESP in enhancing language skills and fostering deeper comprehension of environmental content. Anticipated outcomes encompass a deeper understanding of ESP's impact on students' language proficiency and ecological acumen, as well as the identification of effective strategies for integrating ESP into environmental education. This research seeks to offer guidance to educators and curriculum developers endeavoring to bolster students' language skills and environmental literacy. Ultimately, by elucidating the advantages of incorporating ESP, this study contributes to ongoing discussions on pedagogical approaches that bridge the chasm between language education and environmental sciences. By highlighting the benefits of ESP integration, this research holds implications for shaping the curricula of environmental education programs and nurturing a cohort of professionals adept at effective communication, collaboration, and addressing the pressing environmental challenges of our era

The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of classical guidance services using the Kahoot application in forming student character through improving interpersonal communication. This research is quantitative research with a positivistic paradigm. This research uses an experimental method, the experimental method used is a Quasi Experiment with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest research design Design by providing pre-test and post-test . The population in the study were students of Padang Public High School 1. The sample for this research was class XI F12 students with a total of 33 people. The research sample was selected using purposive sampling technique. The instrument used in this research was a questionnaire with a student interpersonal communication scale. Analysis of this research data used the Wilcoxon test . The results of the research revealed that when carrying out the pre-test, 20 students had poor interpersonal communication and after being given the post-test, 33 students had good interpersonal communication. From the results of the Wilcoxon test, the results obtained were J ℎ <J, namely 3.4<170, meaning that the hypothesis is accepted, namely that there are differences in interpersonal communication before and after being given classical guidance services using the Kahoot application. It can be concluded that classical guidance services using the Kahoot application are effective in improving students' interpersonal communication as a form of character education for students

Information security and privacy is a major concern. One popular way to keep data safe while accessing the internet is by using a Virtual Private Network (VPN). VPNs allow users to create a secure encrypted channel through a public network, thus securing their data from potential threats. In this research, the author analyzes a computer network between two locations (sites) with each location having a router connected to the internet and having a client under it. By using the Mikrotik router board device and the development method of L2TP, namely L2TPv3, the authors implemented on each router and conducted tests between clients. From the test results, it was found that data transmission was successfully carried out (connected). Based on several trials, the test results also show an average of 0.004751 ms using ICMP packets from source IP 192.168.30.10 to destination IP 192.200.10.50. L2TPv3 is a good protocol for securely connecting networks using public networks
