Data analysis uses multiple regression statistical techniques to test the relationship between variables. It is hoped that the research results will provide insight into the role of psychological factors in developing students' mathematical reasoning abilities, as well as being a consideration in designing more effective mathematics learning strategies.
FRAMEWORK MODEL IN LINGUISTIC LANDSCAPE STRATEGIES TO STRENGTHEN NATIONAL IDENTITY IN TOURISM AREAS
This study develops a framework model for Linguistic Landscape (LL) strategies aimed at strengthening national identity in tourism areas, focusing on the integration of local culture and multilingual communication. Using the Riau Islands and West Sumatra as case studies, regions recognized for their cultural richness and tourism potential. This research employs a mixed methods approach to analyze public signage in prominent tourist destinations. A total of 200 public signs were examined for linguistic characteristics, cultural representation, and effectiveness in enhancing the tourist experience. The findings reveal that 72% of the signs are monolingual, predominantly in Bahasa Indonesia, while 28% include additional languages, such as English, to cater to international visitors. Among the multilingual signs, 80% successfully incorporate local cultural elements, fostering a stronger connection to regional heritage while improving navigation and communication for foreign tourists. Statistical analysis indicates a positive correlation between culturally integrated, multilingual signage and tourist satisfaction, with 88% very agreed level of stakeholders preferring signs that blend local identity with practical information in multiple languages. The proposed framework emphasizes the strategic incorporation of local linguistic and cultural elements into public signage to preserve national identity amidst globalization and modern tourism demands. This approach not only promotes inclusivity but also enhances the competitive positioning of Riau Islands and West Sumatra as culturally distinctive and welcoming tourist destinations. The study concludes that adopting this framework can support sustainable tourism development while fostering pride in national and regional heritage
The Rhetorical Moves in the Students’ Introduction Parts of Theses Writing
This study aims to discover the rhetorical moves used by students in the English Language Education Study Program at UNIKA Santu Paulus Ruteng when writing the introductory part of their theses, using the Create A Research Space (CARS) Model. A qualitative method was employed to describe and interpret the data. The data source for this research consisted of the introductions of ten students’ theses, collected through stratified random sampling. A checklist was used as the main instrument for data collection. In analyzing the data, the researcher followed specific steps, such as identifying sentences and expressions that indicate each move, interpreting the data, and drawing conclusions based on the results. The findings revealed that the students used various rhetorical moves in their thesis introductions. Most students applied nearly all the moves, although one thesis did not include move 2 at all. Additionally, it was found that some steps in move 2, particularly steps 2a (counter-claiming) and 2b (indicating a gap), were often skipped by the students. Step 2b was never applied in any of the theses. Keywords: Create a Research Space (CARS) Model, Rhetorical Moves, Thesis Introductio

Writing textbooks needs to be done by lecturers to improve the quality of teaching in the classroom. Lecturers can compile textbooks according to student learning needs and according to the learning plan that has been prepared together with the team of lecturers teaching the course. In the context of compiling the textbooks, lecturers still experience obstacles including the completeness of the structure and suitability with the learning plan, reference sources that are still not up to date, textbooks that are not market-oriented, and not oriented to the latest developments in science and technology. After the material delivery session was carried out, it was continued with a question and answer session. From the material delivery session, a strategy for writing textbooks was obtained, namely starting from planning, compiling chapters per chapter/unit, and evaluation/review. Based on the questions and answers conducted with participants, information was obtained about the challenges in writing textbooks. The challenges faced are related to the number of pages of textbooks, plagiarism checks in writing textbooks, revision of textbooks, preparation of textbooks based on RPS, suitability of courses with research and community service carried out, costs of publishing books, factors in writing textbooks, writing textbook titles, lecturers in writing textbooks, criteria for textbooks that are in accordance with market tastes, ways for local textbooks to become national books, the potential for translated books to become textbooks, and how to present textbooks using formulas for exact courses.
