    No full text
This research is motivated by the limitations of teachers who have not implemented teaching materials in schools, the lack of mathematics word problems related to everyday life issues, and using conventional methods in class resulting in low students' problem-solving abilities. This study was conducted to determine the characteristics of mathematics e-modules based on problem-based learning using the flip pdf professional application on valid and practical Matrix and to determine its potential effects. This research is a research and development with a 4D (four D) development model consisting of four stages, they are Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. This study develops a mathematics e-module based on problem-based learning using the flip pdf professional application on valid matrix with an average validity score of 98.89% including the criteria of "very valid" and practical with an average practicality score of 89.03% including the criteria of "very practical. The characteristics developed are the existence of questions related to the competency of the department and the stages of work using the steps of the problem-based learning model. E-modules also have a potential effect of 0.74 on students' problem-solving abilities, which can potentially improve understanding and problem-solving abilities in mathematics.

The theory used in this research is the Household Livelihood Resilience Theory as proposed by Longstaff. The method employed is a qualitative approach with a descriptive type, which aims to provide a detailed depiction of the issues being studied. Informants were selected through purposive sampling, involving a total of 10 participants. The types of data used in this study consist of primary and secondary data. Data were collected using non-participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document study. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, which includes several stages: data collection, data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of the study, the challenges faced by rubber farming households in transitioning to oil palm cultivation include: (1) Limited land availability, (2) Limited knowledge about oil palm cultivation, (3) Limited financial capital. Meanwhile, the livelihood resilience of rubber farming households in Jorong Kapalo Koto is reflected in their continued engagement in farming despite pressures and shocks, as shown by: (1) The ability to utilize available land, (2) The ability to leverage social networks

This research was motivated by the low learning activity of Grade X students in Sociology subjects at SMA Cendekia Pasaman Barat. The objective of this study was to analyze the implementation of the Game-Based Learning method in improving students' learning activity. The method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) as formulated by John Elliot, which consists of four stages: (1) Planning, (2) Action, (3) Observation, and (4) Reflection. The research data were collected through observations of students’ learning activities and assessments of four activity indicators: listening, reading, writing, and participation. The study was conducted in two cycles. In Cycle I, the average score for listening activity was 67.37, which increased to 88.70 in Cycle II (an increase of 31.77%). Reading activity improved from 65.38 to 90.12 (an increase of 37.84%), writing activity rose from 73.90 to 90.65 (an increase of 22.66%), and student participation increased from 65.77 to 89.69 (an increase of 36.36%). Overall, the average student learning activity increased from 68.1% in Cycle I to 89.79% in Cycle II. These results indicate that the research objectives have been successfully achieved. In conclusion, the implementation of the Game-Based Learning method in Sociology learning has been proven to enhance the learning activity of Grade X students at SMA Cendekia Pasaman Barat in terms of percentage

    No full text
Improving employee performance in public organizations, such as local governments, faces increasingly complex challenges, especially with the rapid development of digital technology. The purpose of this study is to analyze how innovative behavior can improve the performance of local government employees. Data collection for analysis was conducted using a questionnaire as the primary data collection tool. The study sample size was 786 people. Data analysis used descriptive statistics and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM)-PLS. The results of the study showed that the coefficient of determination (r-square) value of the performance variable was 0.454, which means that innovative work behavior was able to influence performance by 45.4%. Furthermore, the results indicate that innovative behavior has a positive and significant effect on the performance of local government employees in North Sumatra province. The novelty in conducting this research is to increase curiosity for improvement and the ability to discover new techniques/equipment, the government must provide opportunities for employees to pour ideas and thoughts into the work process

SPATIAL DYNAMICS OF BUILT-UP LAND DEVELOPMENT BASED ON SLOPE GRADIENT IN TERNATE CITY, INDONESIA

    No full text
Ternate City in North Maluku, Indonesia, is experiencing rapid population growth and residential land development, with diverse topography and slopes that affect the expansion of built-up land. This study analyzed the development of built-up land in 1995 and 2025 based on slope levels using Landsat imagery and Digital Elevation Model (DEM) data. Results showed that built-up land expanded rapidly in the 8-25% slope zone (increased by 96.8-372%) and the >25% zone (+206.5%), indicating development pressure that drove urbanization to topographically challenging areas. Green land conversion (903.78 ha less) also affected the environmental balance, while water bodies remained stable (67.58 ha). The dominance of steep slopes >40% (3,013.36 ha) is a major challenge to sustainable development. The findings emphasize the need for a spatial approach based on integrated geomorphological analysis, particularly landslide risk mitigation in steep slope zones, while meeting settlement needs. The research makes an important contribution to the development of sustainable development strategies in island cities characterized by complex topography and limited flat land while offering a spatial-temporal evaluation model that can be applied in similar areas. Policy implications of the research include strengthening spatial regulations, applying special construction techniques in slope areas, and protecting protected areas to maintain the balance of the natural environment
