    Socio-Economic Analysis from the Perspective of Waste Management and the Environment through Community Empowerment Mediation in Belawan, Medan

    The river and beach coasts in the Belawan area that are currently faced with waste problems not only cause environmental and health pollution, but also serious problems that have an impact on the regional economy. Pollution due to waste in the sea will indirectly threaten many things on earth. Including, threats to humans. As a result of indirect threats from waste in the sea, humans will feel the impact on the environment. Poor waste management also has an impact on the environment, causing the aesthetics of the environment to be less pleasing to the eye, for example, the large amount of scattered waste that disrupts the freshness of the air in the community environment. Regulators and operators as implementers of regulations must make good efforts so that waste management in the coastal areas of rivers and beaches in Belawan is carried out through community empowerment. Good waste management planning will provide socio-economic value to the community if followed by community empowerment. The formulation of the problem in this study is: how much direct influence does waste management planning have on the environment; the direct influence of waste management planning on empowerment; the direct influence of empowerment on the environment and the indirect influence of waste management planning on the environment through empowerment. The purpose of this study is to analyze the extent of the direct influence of waste management planning on the environment; direct influence of waste management planning on empowerment; direct influence of empowerment on the environment and indirect influence of waste management planning on the environment through empowerment. This study is a causal associative study with a quantitative approach. The data analysis technique used is descriptive and confirmatory factor analysis, structural model analysis with hypothesis testing is carried out using the t-Value value with a significance level of 0.05

    This study aims to determine the effect of problem-based learning model (X1) on students' critical thinking skills in economics class XI SMA at SMAN 1 Linggo Sari Baganti. This research is an experimental research with posttest only control group design. The population in this study were all grade XI students at SMAN 1 Linggo Sari Baganti. The sample in this study consisted of 1 control class and 1 experimental class. Data collection techniques in the form of critical thinking skills posttest. Instrument validation was carried out by expert validators, namely lecturers of the Department of Economic Education, Faculty of Economics and Business, Padang State University. The results of data analysis showed that the problem-based learning model had a significant effect on students' critical thinking skills in economics class XI SMA at SMAN 1 Linggo Sari Baganti

    Digital transformation has changed the way business people market their products through E-Commerce and social media. This condition requires the world of education, especially entrepreneurship study programs, to equip students with applicable digital marketing skills. E-Commerce not only functions as a transaction medium, but also as a means of learning digital entrepreneurship practices that integrate online store management, promotional strategy creation, and direct interaction with consumers through social media. This study aims to analyze the effect of the use of E-Commerce and the use of social media on students' understanding of entrepreneurship in the Digital Marketing and Social Media course. The research method uses a quantitative approach with the Partial Least Square (PLS) technique with 35 respondents from the Entrepreneurship study program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas PGRI Sumatera Barat . The results of data processing show that all indicators are valid and reliable with Outer Loading values above 0.70, AVE above 0.50, and Composite Reliability exceeding 0.70. Path Coefficient shows a significant influence of the use of E-Commerce (β = 0.52; p = 0.001) and social media (β = 0.47; p = 0.004) on students' understanding of digital marketing. This study is expected to be a reference for universities in designing an entrepreneurship curriculum based on digital practices that are in line with the development of the digital economy. The integration of E-Commerce and social media as learning media is believed to be able to produce young entrepreneurs who are adaptive, creative, and ready to face the challenges of the digital market

    The entrepreneurial character of students at the Senior High School (SMA) and Vocational High School (SMK) levels is influenced by many things. The learning carried out in SMA is different from the learning carried out in SMK. Vocational High Schools implement entrepreneurship education designed as an integral part of the vocational curriculum oriented towards the world of work and entrepreneurship while in general High Schools, entrepreneurship education is not a major part of the national curriculum structure, but is more often present in the form of extracurricular activities, local content, or thematic and project-based Pancasila (P5) student profile strengthening programmes. This quantitative study was conducted to examine the effect of school environment and entrepreneurship education on the entrepreneurial character of students at school with motivation as mediation. The sample used is class XI and XII students totalling 100 students in one of the private high schools in Kota Jababeka Cikarang which organises entrepreneurship education programmes in schools. Data collection was carried out through a tool in the form of a questionnaire, which consisted of 20 statements using a Likert scale with a scale of 1 - 5 to facilitate respondents in providing an assessment of each statement. Data analysis technique used in this research is using Smart Partial Least Square (SmartPLS). SmartPLS is a tool used for data analysis with the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method, which allows researchers to evaluate the relationship between latent variables and their indicators. The results showed that entrepreneurship education implemented in high schools had a significant positive effect on students' entrepreneurial motivation and character. The school environment exerts a significant but small-scale positive influence in building motivation to foster entrepreneurial character. The findings imply that investment in a well-designed entrepreneurship programme can generate positive impact in preparing individuals with strong entrepreneurial character

    This study aims to analyze the suitability of the use of programs and activities in the spatial structure and spatial pattern of Pringsewu Regency for 2017-2021. In this study using the Scoring and Weighting Methods to determine the suitability and quality values of spatial use in terms of spatial structure and spatial patterns in Pringsewu Regency in 2017-2021, after obtaining the weighting percentage, it can be put into GIS analysis. So the results of the study show that the suitability of spatial use in 2017-2019 and 2020-2021 has an increase in the suitability of spatial use up to 8.07% with an average weight percentage of 37.34%, namely spatial planning is not in accordance with spatial planning and affects the quality of spatial planning. The incompatibility of spatial planning with the Pringsewu District Spatial Planning is due to the influence of local government policies, investors and the community within it. The consistent use of space is implemented in Sukoharjo District, Gadingrejo District, Pagelaran District, Pringsewu District, and Ambarawa. So that policies are needed that are in line between the government and regional spatial planning so that they are sustainable and able to improve the quality of sustainable spatial planning in Pringsewu Regency as one of the areas planned to become a fast-growing area in Lampung Province

This research is quantitative in nature. The types of data used are primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques include observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The data analysis techniques employed are Nearest Neighbour Analysis and descriptive analysis. The results of the study on the distribution pattern of chicken farming using the Nearest Neighbour Ratio indicate a value of 0.677623, which suggests a clustered distribution

    Every year, Bandung Regency often sustains windstorms and strong winds. Based on previous research, the disaster events formed a clustered pattern around the south of the Saguling Reservoir to the northwest-north, some of which were found in East Bandung Regency. Over the last 10 years, the eastern part of Bandung Regency has been hit by 72 windstorms. Causing people injuries, suffering, displacement, and damage property. The main objective of this study is to determine and analyze the level of windstorm hazards and identify the level of affected area from windstorm hazard in the eastern part of Bandung Regency. This research as a whole uses the Geographic Information System method in the form of overlays, weighting, and scoring, as well as remote sensing methods which are used as data providers - data parameters for the level of windstorm hazard including data on a slope, surface temperature and land cover. The results showed that East Bandung Regency had a low to high hazard level with a moderate hazard level being the widest hazard level of 407.72 km2 followed by the second widest class, namely a high hazard level of 317.42 km2 and a low hazard class of 33.27 km2. The distribution of affected area from windstrom hazard resulted in 9 classification classes with the classification being the first order to be considered namely the level of population density and the level of danger (high,high). There are two sub-district with the with the classification (high,high) are Cileunyi District and Majalaya District

    The integration of technology in English language teaching has been a significant development, further accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to the pandemic, technology was steadily being integrated into classrooms in developed countries, utilizing tools like interactive whiteboards and educational software. Additionally, digital language learning tools provided learners with flexible resources to enhance their language skills outside the classroom. However, in developing countries, including Indonesia, access to technology remained limited due to infrastructure and socioeconomic challenges, particularly in regional areas. This study looks closely at two high school English teachers’ teaching experience after the pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly changed the way English is taught in Indonesia, especially in rural areas like Flores Island. The move to online learning sped up the use of technology in education, changing traditional teaching methods. Teachers like Elsa and Anna showed flexibility by using tools like Google Classroom for remote teaching and to increase student participation. It was also found that there is a doubt that the use of ICT in English language teaching brings a high level of dependency on the technology to the students

    The development of the era and the development of literary science make novels not only fictional. The novel 49 Hari Kisah Penantang Gelombang by Nuril Basri is written based on the reality that occurs in the real world, so it can be called a biographical novel. Starting from human existence in facing a series of extreme problems that arise in real life, then reproduced by the author into a biographical novel. The purpose of this study is to describe the author’s struggling value in writing the novel 49 Hari Kisah Penantang Gelombang. To reveal these values, the theory on the aspect of struggle values will be utilized. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with Abrams' expressive criticism approach to the sociology of the author. The data collection technique used is documentation study. While the data analysis technique is qualitative data analysis. The results of the study show the values of struggle: persistence, patience, never giving up, and the responsibility of a novelist in conducting research to reproduce true stories into literary works in the biographical novel genre

    IMPLEMENTING MERDEKA CURRICULUM :THE MEDIA USE BY THE ENGLISH TEACHERS

    AbstrakKurikulum sangat penting dalam lembaga pendidikan karena kurikulum merupakan "jantung" pendidikan. Oleh karena itu, media dalam pengajaran merupakan salah satu hal yang dapat menunjang keberhasilan proses belajar mengajar. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui media apa saja yang digunakan guru dalam mengimplementasikan Kurikulum Merdeka dan menjelaskan bagaimana Kurikulum Merdeka diimplementasikan dalam Pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode penelitian Analisis Tematik. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah 10 guru Bahasa Inggris SMP di berbagai sekolah. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan kuesioner dan wawancara dari rekaman audio untuk menjawab beberapa pertanyaan dalam kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media yang digunakan guru Bahasa Inggris selama implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka adalah: Buku Teks, Video Edukasi, Aplikasi Pembelajaran (misalnya, Kahoot, Quizlet), Media Sosial (misalnya, WhatsApp, Facebook), Media Audio (Rekaman audio, podcast, dan lagu). Partisipan juga mengungkapkan beberapa media yang tidak disebutkan dalam kuesioner, seperti PowerPoint, blog untuk tugas kreatif, dan peta konsep. Terdapat dua prinsip dalam mengintegrasikan Kurikulum Merdeka ke dalam kegiatan pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris: Pertama, pembelajaran berbasis proyek dan kedua, pembelajaran berdiferensiasi. Kesimpulannya, penggunaan media dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris menjadi lebih aktif dan efektif. Kata Kunci: Media, Implementasi, Kurikulum Merdeka Abstract The curriculum is very important in educational institutions because the curriculum is the "heart" of education. Therefore, Media in teaching is one thing that can support the success of the teaching and learning process. This article aims to find out the media are used by teachers in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum and explain how the Merdeka Curriculum is Implemented in English Language Learning. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with the Thematic Analysis research method. Participants in this study were 10 junior high school English teachers in various schools. The research instrument used questionnaires and interviews from audio recordings to answer several questions in the questionnaire. The results of the study show that the media used by English teachers during the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum are: Textbooks, Educational Videos, Learning Applications (eg, Kahoot, Quizlet), Social Media (eg, WhatsApp, Facebook), Audio Media (Audio recordings, podcasts, and songs). Participants also revealed some media that were not mentioned in the questionnaire, such as powerpoint, blogs for creative tasks, concept maps. There are two principles of Integrating the Merdeka Curriculum into English Teaching Activities: The first is Project-based learning and the second is Differentiated instruction. In conclusion the use of media in teaching English becomes more active and effective. Keywords: Media, Implementation, Merdeka Crurriculu
