This study aims to examine the influence of Sales Promotion, Paylater Facility, Shopping Lifestyle, and Price on Positive Emotion, Hedonic Consumption, and Impulse Buying among Shopee app consumers in East Java. The phenomenon of increasing impulsive buying behavior in e-commerce is an important issue in understanding modern digital consumer behavior. This study uses a quantitative approach with the Partial Least Square–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method to analyze the relationship between variables based on data collected from 140 active Shopee user respondents in East Java. The results of the study indicate that sales promotions, paylater facilities, shopping lifestyle, and price significantly influence consumers' positive emotions. Furthermore, these four variables were also shown to significantly influence hedonic consumption and impulse buying. Furthermore, positive emotions and hedonic consumption were shown to be important determinants in increasing impulse buying among Shopee consumers. This means that attractive sales promotions, easy paylater facilities, a high-quality shopping lifestyle, and appropriate price perceptions simultaneously encourage positive emotions, hedonic consumption behavior, and impulsive buying decisions. The implications of this research suggest that e-commerce players need to continue developing emotion-based digital marketing strategies. Shopee and similar platforms are advised to focus innovation on personalized promotions, increased transaction convenience, and enjoyable shopping experiences to boost consumer loyalty and impulse buying behavior

    No full text
Durian Kubang is a local variety from Sawahlunto City, West Sumatra, which has economic, cultural, and ecological value. However, its existence is threatened by land conversion, aging trees, and low public awareness. This study aims to identify the role of stakeholders, analyze communicative actions, and examine collective efforts in the conservation of Kubang Durian. Referring to the theory of communicative action, conservation is framed as a dialogical and collaborative process that places Durian Kubang as a cultural and ecological heritage. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with in-depth interview techniques, observation, focus group discussions, and document analysis. The results of the study show that stakeholders such as the Food Security, Agriculture, and Fisheries Service (DKP3), the Instrument Standard Testing Center (BPSI) for Tropical Fruit Crop Agriculture,  the    [1] Regional Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD), the Seed Supervision and Certification Center (BPSB), and the village government contribute to conservation, but coordination between agencies is still fragmented. Communicative actions occur through meetings, discussions, and digital media, but have not consistently supported long-term collaboration. Collective action is realized through the preservation of mother trees, propagation of superior seeds, farmer training, and promotion of durian-based products. Although it has begun, these efforts are still sporadic and have not been integrated into a comprehensive conservation strategy. The study emphasizes the importance of strengthening coordination and building inclusive communication platforms to support sustainable conservation. By combining five elements of governance capacity—collective action, coordination, resilience, learning, and resources—the research offers a framework for preserving Durian Kubang as a valuable regional heritag

Islamic Counseling Guidance (ICG) offers a holistic approach to address the limitations of Western psychology, particularly when dealing with issues that involve spiritual backgrounds. This study aims to integrate the concept of Islamic Counseling (ICG) with Western psychology to address modern challenges faced by Gen Z, including Fear of Missing Out (FOMO), self-diagnosed mental health, and hate speech. Through a qualitative method based on library research, the study analyzes various literatures to integrate ICG with Western psychology. The research highlights the importance of tazkiyatun nafs (purification of the soul) through practices such as dhikr (remembrance of Allah), repentance, and worship that engage the qalb (heart) and ruh (spirituality) as core solutions to problems. In contrast, Western psychology focuses on the nafs (self) and aql (intellect), using behavioral and cognitive therapies. The study’s findings suggest that this integration provides effective, holistic solutions, promoting inner peace and improving life quality in accordance with human nature. Future research should quantitatively assess the effectiveness of BKI on a broader population for generalizability across diverse social and cultural groups

THE CORRELATION BETWEEN AFFECTIVE-COGNITIVE WRITING AND WRITING SKILLS

    No full text
This study examined the relationship between students’ affective-cognitive writing strategies and their writing skills at the seventh-grade level of SMPN 21 Batam. The study employed a quantitative correlational design with a sample of 30 students selected through cluster random sampling to ensure representation of the population. Data were gathered using two primary instruments: the Affective-Cognitive Writing Strategies Questionnaire (ACWS) developed by Fisher (2010), which measures students’ affective and cognitive approaches to writing, and a descriptive writing test assessed using Brown’s (2007) analytic rubric. Assumption testing through the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and the linearity test confirmed that the data met the requirements for parametric analysis. Pearson’s Product Moment correlation showed that the use of affective cognitive writing strategies did not have a statistically significant relationship with students’ writing performance (r = -0.011, p = .954). These findings suggest that students’ writing performance was influenced more by their basic language proficiency and familiarity with the task than by their reported strategy use. Future studies with larger samples, multiple writing tasks, or qualitative data are recommended to provide deeper insights into how affective and cognitive factors contribute to students’ writing development. These results highlight the need for explicit instruction in both emotional regulation and cognitive strategy training in EFL writing classroom

    No full text
This study examines the construction of gender ideology in English textbooks published by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture in 2022. As official pedagogical documents, the textbooks play a strategic role in shaping students' gender understanding. This study aimed to identify and analyze gender representations in text and images to uncover the gender ideologies underlying the materials' construction. To answer the research questions, high school textbooks for grades X, XI, and XII served as data sources. Using a qualitative design with documentation and discourse analysis techniques, this study classified verbal and visual excerpts into ideological frameworks through a multimodal discourse analysis approach. The findings revealed three main ideologies: egalitarian, intensive parenting, and moderate traditional. Egalitarian ideology is reflected in the representation of women and men as professional, high-achieving, resilient, and creative subjects; intensive parenting is evident through the collaborative division of caregiving roles, while moderate traditional ideology is evident in the continued dominance of women in certain domestic tasks. These three ideologies indicate a hybrid gender discourse that reflects the negotiation between progressive and traditional values in government-published textbooks. Practically, these findings encourage the need for gender sensitivity audits in textbook development and critical pedagogy in the classroom. Theoretically, this research contributes to strengthening the understanding that gender representation in educational media is dynamic, layered, and reflects broader social changes in the context of national education
