IMPACT OF SOLAR RADIATION MODIFICATION ON TEMPERATURE CHANGES FROM SINABUNG ERUPTION IN KARO REGENCY
This study combines reanalysis of observational data and climate modelling to examine temperature changes due to the eruption of Mount Sinabung and future temperature projections. Observation data were taken from ERA5 to identify local temperature changes following the Sinabung eruption in February 2018, while simulations from the Geoengineering Model Intercomparison Project (GeoMIP) were used to observe temperature responses under the Solar Radiation Modification (SRM) scenario. Temperature projections were conducted for the period 2026 – 2099 using the CESM-WACCM, CNRM-ESM2-1, and MPI-ESM1-2-LR models under the G6Solar, G6Sulfur, SSP2-4.5, and SSP5-8.5 scenarios. The results show that GeoMIP temperatures are lower than ERA5 after bias correction. SRM was found to effectively decrease temperature at the summit of Sinabung and Karo Regency, approaching low emission scenarios (SSP2-4.5), with increases of 1,90℃ and 1,05℃ under G6Solar, and 1,02℃ and 0,96℃ under G6Sulfur. Conversely, in the high emission scenarios (SSP5-8.5), temperatures increased to 2,13℃ and 2,1℃
PENGARUH PENYEBARAN ACAK PARTIKEL TERHADAP PERFORMANSI SISTEM PENGUKURAN PM 2.5 BERBASIS SENSOR GP2Y1010AU0F: EKSPERIMEN DENGAN SIRKULASI UDARA BUATAN
Telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai perancangan dan pengujian sistem pengukuran kualitas udara menggunakan sensor Sharp GP2Y1010AU0F untuk mendeteksi konsentrasi partikel debu PM 2.5 dalam ruangan tertutup. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang sistem monitoring, melakukan kalibrasi sensor terhadap alat referensi standar, serta mengevaluasi akurasi dan presisi pengukuran sensor dalam dua kondisi berbeda, yaitu dengan kipas dan tanpa kipas. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode research and development (R&D) dengan jenis penelitian eksperimen. Kalibrasi sensor dilakukan dengan membandingkan data sensor terhadap alat referensi standar, dan diperoleh persamaan regresi linier y = 88.082x – 0.1859. Persamaan ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang kuat antara tegangan output sensor dan konsentrasi partikel debu, yang meningkatkan akurasi hasil pembacaan. Evaluasi akurasi dan presisi menunjukkan hasil berbeda antara kondisi ruangan dengan kipas dan tanpa kipas. Pada kondisi dengan kipas, sensor mengukur nilai rata-rata pembacaan PM 2.5 sebesar 31,4 µg/m³, error absolut rata-rata sebesar 0,6 µg/m³, akurasi sebesar 98,13% dan presisi sebesar 97,56%. Sementara itu, pada kondisi tanpa kipas, nilai rata-rata sebesar 30,2 µg/m³ diperoleh, dengan error absolut rata-rata sebesar 0,2 µg/m³, akurasi sebesar 99,3% dan presisi sebesar 93,85%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keberadaan kipas berperan penting dalam mendistribusikan partikel debu secara merata, sehingga sensor bekerja lebih akurat dan stabil. Pada pengujian menggunakkan debu diperoleh rata-rata pengukuran sensor sebesar 92,15 µg/m³ dengan standar deviasi 8,9 µg/m³ dan rata-rata hasil pengukuran instrumen referensi yang sebesar 94,53 µg/m³. Selisih antara keduanya adalah 2,38 µg/m³, nilai akurasi sensor mencapai 97,48%, yang berarti sensor mampu memberikan hasil pengukuran yang sangat dekat dengan nilai sebenarnya. GENIALLY LEARNING MEDIA BASED ON POSNER’S THEORY TO REDUCE MISCONCEPTIONS IN LINEAR MOTION
Misinterpretation of concepts or misconceptions often occurs in physics, especially in linear motion material. To overcome this problem, this study developed interactive learning media based on the Genially platform by applying Posner’s Conceptual Change Theory. The research used the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) and involved 35 grade XI students at SMAN 5 Jambi City. The novelty of this research lies in the systematic integration of Posner’s conceptual change approach and Genially’s interactive features, which have not been effectively applied in the context of high school physics learning. The results showed that the developed media was able to significantly reduce the level of student misconceptions, with an average decrease from 10.48% to 5.24%. The Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test statistical test yielded a significance value of 0.042 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the pre- and post-treatment values. The implication of this research is the availability of alternative digital learning media that are not only engaging and in line with the characteristics of the digital generation, but also effective in addressing student misconceptions in depth. This media can also serve as a model for developing other teaching materials on complex physics topics prone to misconceptions
Pengembangan E-Modul Berbasis Etnofisika Pada Materi Gelombang Bunyi
Physics education in Indonesia often struggles to present abstract concepts in a way that is easily understood and engaging, leading to learning difficulties among students. Integrating ethnophysics—contextualizing physics within local cultural practices and knowledge systems—offers a promising approach, especially in culturally rich regions. Sound waves, as a fundamental topic, provide opportunities for such integration through instructional modules. This study aims to evaluate the feasibility of an ethnophysics-based electronic module (e-module) on sound wave material through a research and development (R&D) approach. The development process followed the ADDIE model, limited to the stages of analysis, design, and development, and was followed by a limited-scale trial. Data were collected using expert validation sheets and student and teacher response questionnaires. Four validators participated, comprising two subject matter experts and two media experts. The limited-scale trial was conducted with 11th-grade students (class F-6) at SMA Negeri 1 Darul Imarah, Aceh Besar. The validation results indicated high validity, with expert scores of 0.81 (subject matter) and 0.87 (media). Content validity scored 0.86, construct validity 0.85, and language validity 0.66, yielding an overall score of 0.84—classified as highly valid. Student and teacher response rates were 84.8% and 90.3%, respectively, indicating strong practicality. These findings suggest that the developed ethnophysics-based e-module is both valid and practical, with strong potential to support culturally relevant and effective physics instruction.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) yang bertujuan untuk meniai tingkat kelayakan modul elektronik (e-modul) berbasis etnofisika yang difokuskan pada materi gelombang bunyi. Proses pengembangan ini mengikuti model ADDIE yang dibatasi hanya pada tiga tahap awal, yaitu analisis, desain, dan pengembangan, yang dilanjutkan dengan uji coba skala terbatas. Instrumen pengumpulan data meliputi lembar validasi ahli dan angket respon dari siswa dan guru. Penelitian ini melibatkan empat validator, yang terdiri dari dua ahli materi dan dua ahli media. Uji coba skala terbatas dilakukan terhadap siswa kelas XI F-6 di SMA Negeri 1 Darul Imarah, Aceh Besar. E-modul yang dikembangkan dikategorikan sangat valid, dengan skor 0,81 dari ahli materi dan 0,87 dari ahli media. Tidak hanya itu, analisis dari aspek isi, konstruk dan media menghasilkan skor 0,86 untuk validitas isi, 0,85 untuk validitas konstruk, dan 0,66 untuk validitas bahasa. Skor keseluruhan dari tiga aspek tersebut sebesar 0,84, sehingga e-modul dikategorikan sangat valid. Hasil respon siswa dan guru terhadap e-modul mendapat skor 84,8% dan 90,3%, yang menunjukkan tingkat kepraktisan yang tinggi. Oleh karena itu, e-modul berbasis etnofisika pada materi gelombang bunyi dinilai sangat valid dan praktis untuk digunakan sebagai bahan ajar dalam pendidikan fisika
ANALYSIS OF THE EFFECTIVENESS OF PROJECT-BASED LEARNING ON STUDENTS’ CREATIVE THINKING SKILLS
The research aims to analyze the efficiency of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model, focusing on the development of students’ creativity skills on the topic of heat. Creativity is one of the most essential skills in the 21st century. A quasi-experimental method was employed in this study, using a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The population of this research consisted of Grade XI senior high school students. The study used an essay test comprising four questions, developed around aspects of creativity, including fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The research findings show that implementing the PjBL model in the experimental class significantly increases creative thinking skills. The hypothesis test results were reinforced by a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. H1 was accepted because the experimental group applied the project-based learning model. These findings demonstrate that the project-based learning model is effective in enhancing creativity skills. The control group obtained an N-Gain score of 0.33, classified as low, while the experimental group achieved an N-Gain score of 0.56, classified as medium. In addition, the obtained effect size of 1.9683 indicated a very large effect size. Thus, the PjBL model is effective for use in physics learning activities aimed at optimizing students’ creative thinking skills
Impact of magnetite on Fe3O4/Activated Carbon (AC)/ZnO Nanocomposite for Photodegradation of Rhodamine B
Rhodamine B is an organic dye commonly used in the textile industry, but it is toxic. Therefore, a photodegradation method using Fe3O4/activated carbon (AC)/ZnO nanocomposite is necessary to address environmental issues caused by rhodamine B. The Fe3O4/AC/ZnO nanocomposite has been successfully synthesized using the sonication method. Iron sand is used as a source of magnetite (Fe3O4), coconut shells as a source of activated carbon, and Zinc nitrate as a source of ZnO. XRF results show that the Fe content in iron sand is 74.10%. The ratio of Fe3O4 addition used in Fe3O4/AC/ZnO nanocomposite is 0:1:1; 1:1:1; 2:1:1; 3:1:1; 4:1:1. XRD characterization shows that the 1:1:1 ratio of Fe3O4/AC/ZnO nanocomposite has the smallest crystal size of 48.17 nm. The addition ratio of Fe3O4 does not affect the structure of the formed Fe3O4/AC/ZnO nanocomposite. Fe3O4/AC/ZnO nanocomposite is formed at 2theta 30.23°; 35.60°; 57.11°; and 62.83° for Fe3O4, peak broadening at 26.72° and ~44.71 for AC, and 31.82°; 34.47°; 36.30°; 47.59°; 56.63°; 62.89° and 67.98° for ZnO. SEM results show particle sizes of 57.95 nm for ZnO and 42.74 nm for Fe3O4/AC/ZnO 1:1:1 nanocomposite. VSM showed saturation magnetism of 4.41 emu/g for Fe3O4/AC/ZnO 1:1:1 nanocomposite and 28.8 emu/g for Fe3O4. The photocatalytic test showed that the Fe3O4/AC/ZnO 1:1:1 nanocomposite had the best % degradation of rhodamine B, at 96.1%, under sunlight
Determinants of Underweight Among Children Aged 6-23 Months in Central Sulawesi Province (SSGI Analysis 2022)
Underweight in children, defined as failure to achieve a normal weight for age, poses a significant risk of stunting if not properly addressed. This study investigates the determinants of underweight among children aged 6–23 months in Central Sulawesi Province through quantitative analysis of secondary data from the 2022 SSGI. The research employed a cross-sectional design with a sample size of 1,991 children, analyzing the data through chi-square tests and logistic regression. Multivariate analysis identified several significant factors: low birth weight (low birth weight (LBW)) (p=0.000; OR 2.304; 95% CI 1.620–3.277), exclusive breastfeeding (p=0.023; OR 1.507; 95% CI 1.057–2.149), frequency of complementary feeding (CF) (p=0.043; OR 0.775; 95% CI 0.606–0.992), age at introduction of CF (p=0.043; OR 0.708; 95% CI 0.507–0.989), acute respiratory infections (ARI) (p=0.005; OR 1.429; 95% CI 1.117–1.828), and diarrhea (p=0.045; OR 1.368; 95% CI 1,007–1,859). The study concludes that low birth weight (low birth weight (LBW)) is the primary risk factor for underweight in this population. Recommendations include further research into the quantity and diversity of complementary foods, the frequency of CF, and maternal health factors during pregnancy
Smoking Intention and Social Support toward Smoking Behavior among Male Adolescents
The prevalence of smoking among children and adolescents in Indonesia has been reported to have significantly increased, with more male adolescents smoking than female adolescents. A preliminary study conducted at SMAN X, Tangerang Regency, found that 7 out of 20 male students (35%) reported smoking. The high prevalence of smoking among adolescent males could lead to more serious health issues in the future. This study aims to identify the factors associated with smoking behaviour among male adolescents at SMAN X Tangerang Regency in 2024. The study used a cross-sectional study with 72 sample sizes of male adolescents. The sampling technique used in this study was total sampling. The researcher collected data from April to August 2024. Primary data was collected through a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis with chi-square tests. Univariate results show the highest proportions: non-smoking behaviour (69.4%), low intention to smoke (83.3%), unsupportive social environment (56.9%), and exposure to health information (61.1%). Bivariate results reveal a relationship between intention to smoke (PR=2.86, 95%CI=1.56 to 5.25) and social support (PR=4.50, 95%CI=1.86 to 10.86) with smoking behaviour. The school should continue its efforts to prohibit smoking among students by posting posters about the dangers of smoking and signs prohibiting smoking, as well as implementing a program involving the role of guardians/parents to actively monitor and educate adolescent males about the dangers of smoking so that they do not smoke
The Relationship Between the Use of Digital Flashcards on Quizlet and English Vocabulary Mastery in Elementary School Students
This research investigates the correlation between the utilization of digital flashcards on the Quizlet platform and the Mastery of English vocabulary among elementary school students. The study focused on thirty-fifth-grade students enrolled at Elementary School 6 in Aceh Barat Daya, selected through purposive sampling to ensure relevance to the research objectives. To gather the required data, researchers employed two instruments: a vocabulary test designed to assess students' Mastery of English vocabulary, and a questionnaire developed to measure the extent of Quizlet usage among participants. Before performing statistical analysis, the data were first tested to confirm that the assumptions of normality and linearity were met. Once these conditions were satisfied, the Pearson product-moment correlation technique was applied to analyze the relationship between the two variables. The findings revealed a strong and statistically significant positive correlation (r = 0.712, p < 0.001), suggesting that the more frequently students used Quizlet, the higher their vocabulary scores tended to be. It implies that the integration of digital flashcards through platforms like Quizlet can serve as an effective strategy to enhance vocabulary acquisition among learners at the elementary level. Consequently, the study supports the idea that incorporating digital learning tools into classroom instruction can contribute meaningfully to language learning outcomes, particularly in vocabulary development
Teachers’ Support and Its Effect on Students’ Learning Motivation
This study investigates the role of teacher support in shaping English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners’ motivation through a structured literature review. Psychological and social factors, especially teacher support, are critical in enhancing student motivation, particularly in settings where learners face anxiety or low confidence. The review focuses on three core types of teacher support, emotional, academic, and autonomy-supportive and their contributions to student engagement and language learning motivation. Ten peer-reviewed articles published between 2014 and 2025 were analyzed using thematic content analysis to identify patterns in findings, methods, and cultural contexts. Results show that teacher support consistently enhances motivation, with integrated support having the strongest impact. The novelty of this study lies in its cross-cultural synthesis and emphasis on the need for integrated and longitudinal approaches. Findings suggest that teacher training programs should adopt holistic strategies to foster and maintain student motivation in EFL classrooms
