    DIAGNOSING STUDENTS' MISCONCEPTIONS OF DIRECT CURRENT ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS USING A FIVE-TIER ISOMORPHIC INSTRUMENT

    This study aims to diagnose students' conceptions and identify their sources related to direct current electrical circuits using a five-tier isomorphic diagnostic instrument. A quantitative method with a research and development design was used involving 108 grade XII students from State Senior High School 1 Jambi City. Data was collected through an isomorphic test of 9 questions, interviews, and documentation. Validity and reliability analysis using SPSS showed that the instrument was reliable (Cronbach's Alpha = 0.911). The implementation of this research instrument showed that the average percentage of students' correct answers (at Tier 1-4) was only 19.9%, indicating a low understanding of the concept. Then, this study also identified students' misconceptions, which included eight main types of misconceptions with an average overall percentage (at Tier 1-4) of 13.6%, which was also categorized as low. Personal thinking was identified as the primary source of misconceptions, providing important insights for designing physics learning interventions. This study's novelty lies in applying a five-tier diagnostic instrument to identify misconceptions and their sources, finding that students' thinking was the primary source. The results of this study provide important implications for physics education, including targeted intervention strategies and increased conceptual clarity, which ultimately support the teaching and learning of basic physics concepts

    DO EXTERNAL FACTORS AFFECT THE LEVEL OF TOURIST VISITS

    This study investigates the influence of external factors on tourist visits to ASEAN-6 countries (Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, and the Philippines), renowned for their global appeal as tourist destinations. Employing a fixed effect panel data regression model, the research utilizes annual World Bank data from 2004 to 2020 to analyze the effects of political stability, inflation, airport availability, traffic accident rates, and currency exchange rates on tourist arrivals. The results reveal that political stability significantly increases tourist visits, as it enhances perceptions of safety and reliability. Inflation, conversely, negatively impacts tourism by reducing affordability. Surprisingly, airport availability has a negative effect, possibly due to stringent inspections that may discourage travelers. Traffic accident rates show a positive correlation, likely reflecting increased tourist activity in well-connected urban areas. Meanwhile, currency exchange rates exhibit no significant influence. The findings underscore the importance of addressing these external factors to improve the tourism sector in ASEAN-6 countries. Governments are encouraged to enhance regional cooperation, develop cross-border travel packages, and invest in public facilities to create a more tourist-friendly environment. However, the study acknowledges its limitations, such as excluding variables related to pandemics and environmental concerns, which are increasingly relevant in the tourism industry. Future research should incorporate these aspects to provide more comprehensive policy recommendations and support sustainable tourism growth

    PROVISION OF STIMULANTS MADE OF PEG 6000 AND OLEOCHEMICALS IN INCREASING THE PRODUCTION OF RUBBER PLANTATIONS

    Indonesia’s rubber plants nationally is still relatively low compared to other natural rubber-producing countries, which is 858 kg/ha/year. The lack of precision of the inefficient exploitation and tapping system implemented by rubber farmers, both community plantations, government and private, is one of the causes of low rubber production in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the influence of the production and physiology of latex in the PB 260 clone community rubber plant after being given a stimulant made of PEG 6000 and oleochemicals. The research was carried out in a community rubber plantation, located in Galang District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province. The altitude of the place is 25 m above sea level with the Ultisol soil type. The research began in July 2022 to November 2022. The plant material used in the field is a 20-year-old PB260 clone rubber plant. Research observations include plant production in the field on smallholder rubber plantations, as well as latex physiological analysis conducted at the Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of North Sumatra and the Sungei Putih Research Institute, Field experiments used a three-replicate factorial group random design with PEG 6000 and Oleochemistry as treatments. The A1 treatment generally had the best effect on all the observational parameters of the study. The combination of PEG 6000 3% and Oleochemistry had an insignificant effect on latex production, rubber dryness, rubber physiology, and rubber histology. However, statistically the combination of P1A1 has a positive effect on rubber plants

    MODELLING AND ANALYSIS OF OPTIMIZATION ALGORITHMS

    The purpose of this study was to comprehensively analyze existing optimization algorithms for Machine Learning (ML) models and develop new approaches aimed at improving their performance and efficiency. The study compared traditional and novel machine learning optimization techniques to evaluate their impact on model performance. The main results include a detailed overview of the main optimization methods in ML, including gradient descent, stochastic gradient descent, metaheuristic-based methods, and non-zero methods. Specific cases of using optimization algorithms in ML tasks, such as image processing, machine translation, and speech recognition were presented. A table comparing the advantages and disadvantages of the methods by key performance metrics is provided. The structural diagrams and principles of operation of each method are presented. In addition, the methods of integrating the developed approaches into existing ML platforms are investigated. The study's results demonstrate that integrating novel optimization techniques significantly enhances machine learning model performance. These methods offer a substantial improvement over traditional techniques like gradient descent, providing greater flexibility and efficiency in handling complex and evolving data. The findings suggest that combining these approaches with existing optimization strategies can lead to more robust and scalable machine learning systems across diverse industries. The findings suggest that combining these methods with traditional approaches can enhance machine learning performance and guide future AI developments. The novelty of the research is in the introduction of the novel techniques like adaptive model selection and dynamic parameter adaptation to improve machine learning efficiency in real-time data environments

    Literature Review : The Relationship of Husband's Support on Anxiety During The Labor Process

    Approaching the birthing process, pregnant women experience various feelings, including anxiety. To reduce anxiety during childbirth is the presence of a maternal companion such as a husband. The husband's presence during the birthing process can have a positive effect on childbirth, namely reducing morbidity, reducing pain, shortening labor and reducing the number of births with operations such as caesarean section. Objective: To analyze research articles related to the relationship between husband's support and anxiety during the birth process. This study uses a literature study method, searching for articles using 6 electronic based articles, namely Goggle Scholar, Sematic Scholar, Pubmed, Garuda, Elsevier, Research Gate. With the keywords husband's support, anxiety, childbirth and husbands support, anxiety, childbirth process. Accredited Journal, full paper, published from 2017-2021. The results of the analysis of 11 articles showed the same result that there was a relationship between husband's support and anxiety during the birth process. This is indicated by the higher the husband's support, the lower the anxiety level of the mother giving birth. The conclusion of the article analysis results shows that there is a significant influence between the relationship between husband's support and anxiety during the birth process.     Andisol merupakan tanah yang berada di wilayah pegunungan vulkanik dengan ciri tanahyang berwarna hitam atau gelap yang disebabkan oleh tingginya bahan organik tanah. Andisoltersebar luas di Indonesia, salah satunya Provinsi Jambi dengan luas yaitu 340,479 ha dan luasAndisol pada Kecamatan Lembah Masurai yaitu 688,99 km2. Lahan Andisol di Kabupaten Meranginbanyak dimanfaatkan sebagai lahan pertanian salah satunya tanaman perkebunan kayu manis, kopidan camoran kayu manis dan kopi. Penggunaan lahan Andisol menjadi lahan pertanian akanmempengaruhi karakteristik fisika dan kimia Andisol. Hal ini dapat terjadi karena adanya aktifitaspengolahan tanah dan perkembangan tumbuhan itu sendiri. Pengolahan tanah merupakan salah satupnyebab terjadinya erodibilitas tanah. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk melihat erodibilita vegetasihutan Andisol yang di konversi menjadi vegetasi kayu manis, vegetasi kopi dan campuran kayumanis dan kopi. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Desa Nilai Dingin Kecamatan Lembah MasuraiKabupaten Merangin . Desa ini terletak pada ketiggian tempat 1300 m diatas permulaan laut. JenisTanah Andisol. Waktu pelaksanaan 4 bulan. Analisis tanah di laksanakan di Laboratorium Fisikadan Kimia Tanah Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Jambi. Pengambilan sampel tanah dengan metodeproporsif random sampling untuk penentuan tekstur, struktur, kadar bahan organik, berat volumedan permiabelitas, total ruang pori dan erodibilisa tanah pada vegetasi kayu manis, kopi, campurkayu manis dan kopi dan vegetasi hutan primer pada kelerengan 8 % - 15 %. Parameter kadarbahan organik tanah, permiabilitas, berat volume tanah, total ruang pori, erodibilita tanah masingperlakuan di ulang 15 kali. Untuk membedakan erodibilitas Andisol pada vegetasi hutan, kayumanis, kopi, campuran kayu manis dan kopi dan tanah dilakukan dengan Uji Nilai TengahTidak Berpasangan pada taraf 5 %. Dari hasil Uji Nilai Tengah Tidak Berpasangan di dapatkanbahwa penggantian hutan berat volume sama dengan kayu manis, camporan kauyu manis dan kopisama tetapi berbeda dengan kopi. Permiabilitas dan total ruang pori tanah hutan berbeda denganvegetasi kauyu manis, kopi dan campuran.     Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui implementasi Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila (P5) di SD N 64/IV Kota Jambi sebagai fondasi pendidikan Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan memaparkan data hasil penelitian yang diperoleh melalui wawancara dan observasi dengan informan yaitu guru kelas IV. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa implementasi projek penguatan profil pelajar pancasila (P5) di SD N 64/IV Kota Jambi sebagai fondasi pendidikan Indonesia menggunakan berbasis proyek melalui tema kearifan lokal yang diimplementasikan dalam bentuk tarian kreasi daerah jambi. Ada empat tahapan yang dilakukan diantaranya tahap pengenalan, tahap kontekstualisasi, tahap aksi, serta tahap refleksi dan tindak lanjut.     Enhancing Intercultural Understanding Through Project- Based Learning: A Study in the Multicultural Class of SMAN 2 Muara Bungo

    Indonesia’s cultural diversity presents unique opportunities and challenges in education, particularly in fostering tolerance and intercultural understanding. This study examines the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PBL) in a multicultural classroom at SMAN 2 Muara Bungo, which reflects the diversity of theMuara Bungo community, including the Minangkabau, Javanese, Jambi, and Batak tribes. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through observation and reflection on classroom experiences. Findings indicate the effectiveness of PBL in enhancing cross-cultural collaboration, with 87% of students activelyparticipating in heterogeneous group projects, such as cultural exhibitions. Teachers play a critical role in facilitating these interactions, although challenges such as limited resources and varying levels of student engagement remain. The study concludes that PBL is an effective tool for fostering cultural inclusion, enhancing collaboration, and equipping students with essential social skills. However, additional support for teachers and students is needed to maximize its potential. These results provide valuable insights for the development of multicultural education in Indonesia

    Isolasi dan Karakterisasi Fungi Pyricularia oryzae Penyebab Penyakit Blast pada Tanaman Padi

    Blast disease caused by the fungus Pyricularia oryzae is one of the major diseases in rice plants (Oryza sativa) that can significantly reduce crop yields. This research aims to isolate and characterize P. oryzae macroscopically and microscopically. This study is exploratory research. The research methods include sampling leaves and stems of rice plants showing blast symptoms, isolating the fungus from infected plant tissues, and characterizing the macroscopic and microscopic features of the isolated fungi. The results showed that P. oryzae grown on PDA medium has colonies that are round with smooth edges, a velvety surface texture, light gray to dark gray with a blackish center, and white to gray concentric ring-like margins. Microscopically, the fungi P. oryzae produce asexual spores known as conidia that are pyriform in shape with two septa dividing the conidia into three cells. The conidia are attached to the tips or branches of conidiophores. The conidiophores of P. oryzae are transparent to brownish, tubular, long filaments, septate, and thicker at the base.
