Causes and Consequences of Bullying Phenomenon among Emerging Adults in Urban Surabaya
Full text linkThe phenomenon of bullying among emerging adults has become an important research topic due to its significant impact on emerging adults' well-being and their learning environment. This research is crucial to understanding the root causes and triggering factors of bullying. By understanding the causes, more effective prevention measures can be designed and implemented by the government to create a safer and more supportive environment for emerging adulthood. The phenomenon of bullying can be explained through the perspectives of psychology, sociology and anthropology. This research is a qualitative study using the interview method. The results showed that from a psychological perspective, imitation of aggressive behavior from the social environment is the root of the bullying problem. From a sociology perspective, bullying is the result of power inequality and attempts to maintain power. From an anthropological perspective, cultural norms and social hierarchy influence bullying, which is used to maintain distance between dominant and perceived different groups.Keywords: bullyings; psychological; sociological; anthropological
The Influence of Using the Google Play Books Application on Interest in Reading E-Books among @literarybase Account Followers
Full text linkPurpose Research. The low interest in reading among the public is still a problem for Indonesia as a developing country. Technological advances in the direction of digital have allowed e-books to become a new reading medium. This condition shifts reading culture from printed books to digital media. The emergence of e-books is expected to be a medium that attracts readers and increases people's interest in reading. This study will discuss the effect of applying Google Play books on the interest of reading e-books of @literarybase account followers. The community @literarybase is taken up because it is an important forum for encouraging reading interest for its members. Research Methods. This study uses a quantitative method. Data measurement was conducted using a questionnaire on a Likert scale of 1-5, which was distributed to 150 respondents. Data Analysis. The data obtained will be processed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method. The data processing analysis tool will use the Smart-PLS application version 3.0. Result. Based on the data that has been processed, using the Google Play Books application can significantly affect the interaction on the @literarybase account. In addition, the interaction on the @literarybase account significantly affects the interest in reading e-books. The use of the Google Play Book app among @literarybase account followers significantly affects their interest in reading e-books. Conclusion. It can be concluded that the use of the Google Play Book application among the followers of the @literarybase account has a significant influence on the interest in reading e-books. Meanwhile, an interesting finding from this study is that online reading communities such as @literarybase accounts can mediate the use of the Google Play Book application in increasing the reading interest of its members.Keywords: reading interest; e-books; google play books; online reading communit

Full text linkCountries around the world, especially in developing countries, are struggling with poverty. The definition of poverty is a complex problem that is influenced by several interrelated elements, such as unemployment rates and education levels, and whether or not these issues have an impact on poverty, especially in East Jakarta. This study aims to determine the relationship between unemployment and education with poverty in East Jakarta from 2018 to 2022. Secondary data used in this study comes from time series data, namely information from the East Jakarta Central Statistics Agency regarding community unemployment, the number of poor people, and the gross participation rate at the high school level in East Jakarta. Using the Eviews12 application, multiple linear regression analysis was used to process the data. The findings of this study indicate that, at the same time, the level of education significantly reduces poverty in East Jakarta

Aplikasi Gojek di Mata Mahasiswa: Analisis Pengaruh Social Media dan Brand Image pada Keputusan Penggunaan
Full text linkThis journal reviews how social media and brand image can influence consumer decisions in using Gojek. This research focuses on how social media promotion and consumer views on Gojek have an impact on customer decisions to use Gojek. The target of this journal is to investigate The social media and brand image effect on customer decisions in using The Gojek application. This study uses quantitative research methods by distributing questionnaires to 120 respondents who use The Gojek application. The sample was determined using The Slovin formula with 55 respondents representing The population. The study data was processed using multiple linear regression with The help of The SPSS 26 application. The results found that social media and brand image have a positive influence on consumer decisions in using The Gojek application. According to The coefficient of determination, it means that 63% of consumer decisions in using The application are influenced by social media and brand image, while The remaining 37% is influenced by various oTher factors outside The two research variables. Based on These findings, it is recommended that Gojek continue to strengThen digital communication strategies through social media that are up to date and informative, maintain and improve and enhance a positive brand image in The eyes of consumers

Full text linkThis research discusses the factors that influence the income of street vendors at Gwalk Surabaya with the aim of analyzing the effect of venture capital, location, length of business and labor, partially and simultaneously, have a significant effect on the income of street vendors at Gwalk Surabaya. The population in this study were all modern traders in the G-Walk Region of Surabaya in 2020, totaling 74 street vendors, using the Slovin formula, the number of samples taken in this study were 62 modern traders in the G-Walk Region of Surabaya in 2020. The method used is multiple linear regression analysis. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that, business capital has no effect on merchants 'income, location has no effect on merchants' income, length of business affects traders 'income, labor affects traders' income and variables. Business capital, location, length of business, labor together (simultaneously) have a effect on the dependent variable, namely merchant income modern traders in the G-Walk Region of Surabaya
PENGARUH PENDAPATAN NELAYAN TERHADAP PENINGKATAN EKONOMI MASYARAKAT DI DESA WERU, KECAMATAN PACIRAN, KABUPATEN LAMONGAN (The Influence of Fishermen`s Income on The Economic Improvement of The Community in Weru Village, Paciran District, Lamongan Regency)
Full text linkThis study analyzes the influence of fishermen's income on improving the economy of coastal communities in Weru Village, Paciran, Lamongan. Quantitative methods were applied through a survey of 86 fishermen through observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression. The results showed that there was a positive and significant influence of fishermen's income on the community's economy (β = 0.259; p < 0.05). Every 1 unit increase in fishermen's income increased the community's economy by 0.259 units. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.675 indicated that 67.5% of the variation in community economic improvement was explained by fishermen's income. The implication is that despite its significant influence, sustainable policies are needed for optimization through: Technology-based empowerment; Diversification of fisheries businesses; Strengthening the marketing of catches. These findings emphasize the crucial role of the fisheries sector in driving the coastal economy.Keywords: fishermen's income, coastal economy, linear regression, Weru Village, community empowerment
ANALISIS PERAMALAN PRODUKSI JAGUNG DI PROVINSI SUMATERA BARAT (Analysis of Maize Production Forecast in West Sumatra Province)
Full text linkProduction forecasting is a crucial instrument in supporting planning and policy-making in the agricultural sector, particularly for strategic commodities such as corn. This study aims to forecast corn production in West Sumatra Province and evaluate the most accurate forecasting method to serve as a basis for agricultural development policy formulation. Time series data on corn production from 2000 to 2024 were analyzed using three forecasting methods: Average Forecast, Naïve Forecasting, and Moving Average. The results show that the Naïve Forecasting method produced the most accurate projections, with a MAE of 56,546.39 and an RMSE of 83,788. These findings suggest that even simple forecasting models can be effective tools for short-term projections. Accurate production forecasting is therefore essential to anticipate harvest fluctuations, maintain supply stability, and design more responsive and data-driven policy interventions in West Sumatra.Keywords: Forecasting, Corn Production, Naive Forecasting, West Sumatera.
HUMAN SECURITY IN ANIMAL WELFARE: AN ANALYSIS OF HEALTH SECURITY CONCERNS IN THE DOG MEAT TRADE IN INDONESIA
Full text linkThis study seeks to examine how health security concerns are leveraged to save dogs from the dog meat trade in Indonesia. Despite increasing scrutiny, the consumption of dog meat persists in certain cities in Indonesia. Efforts to stop this practice remain challenging due to entrenched cultural traditions, widespread misconceptions about the health benefits of consuming dog meat, and economic dependence of many individuals on this trade for their livelihood. Nevertheless, a growing number of regional governments have started imposing bans on the dog meat trade to curb dog meat consumption. At least 80 cities, regencies, and provinces across Indonesia have introduced such bans. This progress leads to this research question: "Why have more regional governments chosen to ban the dog meat trade?" To address this question, this study employs a qualitative method, combining interviews and literature reviews for data collection, with human security theory in place. This study finds that the surge in regional bans is largely driven by health security concerns raised by the Dog Meat Free Indonesia (DMFI) coalition. Through both online and offline campaigns, public rallies, and lobbying activities, DMFI emphasized the health risks, particularly the threat of rabies, associated with the dog meat trade. These advocacy efforts have heightened awareness and placed pressure on local authorities to enact regulatory bans aimed at protecting communities from the health security threats linked to dog meat consumption
ANALISIS KONFLIK MASYARAKAT REMPANG TERKAIT PROYEK STRATEGIS NASIONAL DALAM PEMBANGUNAN REMPANG ECO CITY
Full text linkPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konflik antara masyarakat Pulau Rempang dan pemerintah terkait proyek pembangunan Rempang Eco City sebagai bagian dari Proyek Strategis Nasional (PSN). Konflik dipicu oleh kebijakan relokasi masyarakat adat dari 16 kampung tua untuk memberikan ruang bagi proyek industri yang dikelola oleh PT Makmur Elok Graha dan Xinyi Glass Holdings Ltd. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode studi pustaka dan analisis dokumen. Teori yang digunakan adalah Teori Konflik Ralf Dahrendorf dan Teori Kelas Karl Marx untuk melihat dinamika kekuasaan dan ketimpangan sosial dalam proyek tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa relasi kekuasaan yang timpang antara pemerintah dan masyarakat menciptakan resistensi kolektif yang kuat. Masyarakat adat menolak relokasi karena tidak hanya menyangkut kehilangan tempat tinggal, tetapi juga hak atas identitas, sejarah, dan ruang hidup mereka. Negara bertindak sebagai perpanjangan kepentingan kapital, sementara pendekatan hukum dan komunikasi publik dinilai gagal membangun kepercayaan. Oleh karena itu, penyelesaian konflik ini memerlukan pendekatan dialogis dan pengakuan atas hak-hak masyarakat adat secara adil dan berkelanjutan
