The Role of Emotional Intelligence (EQ) in Improving the Quality of Teacher-Student Interaction: A Review of Educational Psychology Literature
No full textThis study aims to thoroughly reveal the role of emotional intelligence (EQ) in improving the quality of teacher-student interactions. Teachers' emotional intelligence (EQ) is considered an important aspect in facilitating meaningful interactions for students. This study includes a literature study (Library Research). Data collection identifies sources relevant to the research conducted through online database searches (Scopus, Google Scholar, National Library) and offline (relevant books and documents) then the relevant data is analyzed comprehensively and systematically. The research findings indicate that teachers with high EQ are better able to create a positive classroom environment, build supportive relationships with students, and manage conflict effectively. EQ teachers also increase student learning motivation, academic engagement, and academic achievement. This review emphasizes the important role of EQ in improving the quality of student-teacher interactions. It is recommended to integrate EQ aspects into teacher training programs and develop valid EQ assessment tools, as well as explore teaching strategies that integrate EQ with other pedagogical approaches

No full textThe use of appropriate learning methods is a key factor in the teaching and learning process. Success in mastering a range of competencies is a primary goal for students. Active learning, as a teaching method, can enhance the critical thinking skills of students, thereby facilitating a deeper understanding of the material being taught. This research employs a qualitative approach, using descriptive and case study methods, to generate in-depth descriptive data in the form of words or oral expressions from individuals, groups, or situations. The study draws conclusions based on three aspects: planning, implementation, and evaluation.First, planning is focused on a simplified syllabus. Second, in the implementation phase, lecturers employ active learning techniques, including active debates, direct instruction, and small group discussions. Third, evaluation/assessment conducted by lecturers encompasses cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains
Integration of Positive Psychology and the Concept of Tazkiyatun Nafs in Character Education
No full textAbstract This study examines the integration of positive psychology principles with the concept of tazkiyatun nafs in Islamic character education. The objective is to explore alignment and application of these concepts within character education using a library research method. Systematic analysis of primary and secondary literature reveals compatibility between positive psychology constructs such as emotional resilience and gratitude with Islamic concepts like sabr and shukr in tazkiyatun nafs. An educational model integrating mindfulness techniques with muraqabah practices demonstrates significant enhancement in students’ emotional well-being. Library research proves effective for synthesizing multidisciplinary sources, despite challenges in reconciling empirical and traditional Islamic approaches. The study recommends development of valid evaluation instruments, transdisciplinary frameworks, and digitization of classical manuscripts to expand research in this field. Practical implications include adaptive teacher training modules and the development of holistic and contextual character education

No full textLearning Arabic for non-native speakers has become an important topic in the era of globalization. Arabic has a very important role in the application and understanding of the Islamic religion, as well as understanding various scientific works and Arabic literature. Therefore, the urgency of effective and efficient learning methods for non-native speakers is very important. The development of research on Arabic language learning methods has progressed in the last few decades. Various methods and approaches have been developed to help non-native speakers effectively and easily. The methods used include information and communication technology, project-based learning, language games, and interactive multimedia. The importance of appropriate learning methods in learning Arabic lies in the method's ability to facilitate understanding and mastery of important aspects of the Arabic language, such as vocabulary, speaking skills, grammar, reading, listening and writing. In this abstract we will discuss the urgency of learning methods. in learning Arabic for non-native speakers, and the importance of using effective and efficient methods. For future researchers, they can develop their learning strategies and they can be regenerated to be more complete for further research. Researchers suggest that future research places more emphasis on implementation and focuses on increasing the achievement of the values and ultimate goals of good Arabic language learning
The Effectiveness of Choral Reading Method Toword Reading Comprehension At Ninth Grade of SMP Plus Nurul Islam: English
No full text The aims of this article was to know the effectiveness of choral reading method toward studentsreading comprehension. In this study, the researchers used quantitative research in the form ofquasi-experimental design by testing the pre-test and post-test. The samples were taken fromclass 9a and class 9b. The treatment was conducted for 3 meetings. The population of this studywere 9th grade students at SMP Plus Nurul Islam. Collecting the data used multiple choicequestions as an instrument. After the treatment, the instrument was used for pre-test and posttest. After being given the pre-test and post-test, the researchers used the SPSS to computeindependent T-test. In this study, researchers used quantitative research. Researchers used aquasi-experimental design by testing the pre-test and post-test. The result showed that choralreading method was effective toword students' reading comprehension at ninth grade of SMPPlus Nurul Islam. It can be seen from Sig. (2-tailed) of the equal variance assumed in theIndependent Samples test table where the Sig. (2-tailed) is 0.004. It is lower than α = 0.05 and itmeans that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted
Developing Monopoly Game to Teach Speaking Skill at X Grade of MA Sirojut Tholibin: English
No full text Learning media is significantly required for English learners to reinforce the subject that they studied and to facilitate learning, especially in learning to speak. The mastery of speaking skill became the main goal, so learning speaking needs learning media. This research aims to develop a Monopoly game to teach speaking skills at the senior high school level. To reach that goal, R&D with ADDIE’s model was used the data of the research was used observation, interview, and questionnaire. After the Monopoly game was developed it was validated by media and material validator. The result of material validation obtained 90,6% which means that strongly valid, the result of media validation obtained 82,5% which means that strongly valid, and the result of the student’s satisfaction questionnaire obtained 82,6% which means that strongly valid on the trial process. Based on the material validation, media validation, and students satisfaction questionnaire it can be concluded that developed speaking skills by using the Monopoly game which can be an appropriate media to teach speaking skills in English learning
The Effectiveness of Seey Android Based Game Towards The English Grammar Achievement: English
No full textThe research intends to examine the effectiveness of SEEY android-based game, an offline English grammar learning application. The research objectives were to discover the strength of the significant value of the effect of SEEY android-based games towards students’ English grammar competence. The grammar material focus on three tenses; simple present, present progressive, and simple past. Applied quasi-experiment as research design with pre-post (test) control group design. The participants were students of the second grade of SMP Negeri 01 Garum. An experimental group was treated by applying SEEY android-based game. A control group was treated by applying the conventional method. The two groups take pretest and posttest to obtain the data. After that the data was analyzed and collected by SPSS application applied t-test formula. The outcomes of the t-test indicated a significance value (0,00) which has less than (0,05). According to the experimental group’s mean score (89,28) was greater than the control group’s (79,16). Critical Discourse Analysis of Cultural Diversity Depicted in Indonesian EFL Secondary School Textbook: English
No full textCultural diversity frequently causes a number of challenging issues. Ethnic conflicts frequently arise in Indonesia as a result of a lack of tolerance and respect for others. Ethnic conflicts occur not only in adults but frequently involve school-age children. Therefore, multicultural education is needed. One of the important tools in learning activity is textbook. Thus, this study aimed to explain the cultural dimension predominantly presented in the textbook entitled Bahasa Inggris Untuk SMA/MA/SMK/MAK Kelas 10. This study implemented a qualitative method and the data were analyzed by using Critical Discourse Analysis. In addition, this study also adopted Huberman, Miles, and Sladana (2014) model of qualitative data analysis which consists of four stages: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings showed there were 60 cultural contents that cover the four dimensions of culture; Products, Practices, Perspectives, and Persons in the textbook. Furthermore, the most dominant cultural dimension found is Products with the frequency of 36, whereas the second most frequently occurring element is Persons which is 21. Perspectives is the third dimension that often occurs with the frequency of 2, followed by Practices with a frequency of 1. This finding suggests further research is needed on teaching methods, strategies, or techniques teachers use in the classroom to teach cultural diversity in the textbook
Developing English Module for Seventh-Grade Students at MTs Al Hidayah Sukonolo: English
No full textThis study focuses on helping English students and teachers find the ideal development module material for reading comprehension Under the 2013 curriculum, this study is a module that extends exercises to Help students understand English lessons and use the latest materials and resources. There are several reasons underlying this research, but (1) English language learning in this class applies a student center to discover students' interests and talents in the class, and the contextual method allows students to be proactive in following lessons. Research and Development (R&D), or research used to make certain goods and evaluate their suitability. This research and development use the ADDIE research model developed by Dick and Carry (1996). Media verification results of 90% and 8O by 5 performances from learning professionals. Product test results made in 2 meetings reached 74.0625%. The research and development results show a significant impact On the use of the reading module for students learning English. In conclusion, this module is an effective learning media that complements students' learning materials when studying English reading comprehension
A Comprehensive Analysis of the Application of TPACK in Tenth-Grade Students’ Writing Practice: English
No full textWriting is a skill that is needed by the students nowadays, which is the capacity of an English teacher to become a significant element to improve students’ understanding in writing, especially in the use of Merdeka curriculum. But the phenomenon of teacher is still unfamiliar with the Merdeka curriculum and its content knowledge, Technological, Pedagogical, and Content Knowledge (TPACK) is still infrequently applied, while the use of technology should be implemented in learning process of Merdeka curriculum. To face this phenomenon, this study focused on the integration, implementation, and result of TPACK itself in writing skill. This study was a case study where a qualitative descriptive method to assess the result. There was an English teacher who became the main participant to be observed, which she taught class X Akuntansi Keuangan Lembaga (AKL) whom the researcher observed. The data was conducted by using observation, interview, questionnaire, and documentation. The result showed that TPACK was implemented by teachers and had a positive impact on students’ writing. In addition, the integration of technology, pedagogy, and content of teaching constructed the implementation of TPACK. It affected the students’ skills to get good writing that was assessed by the teacher’s writing rubric
