Pengelolaan Sampah Berbasis Masyarakat Melalui Pendirian Bank Sampah di Desa Kalitengah Cirebon
One of the main problems faced by the people of Kalitengah Village, Tengah Tani Sub-district, Cirebon Regency is the lack of awareness about the importance of waste management. Waste that is not managed properly often accumulates in various corners of the village, causing health and environmental problems. To overcome this problem, there is an urgency to increase public awareness and knowledge about good and correct waste management, so programs that support sustainable waste management involving community participation are needed such as the establishment of waste banks to deal with waste problems effectively. The purpose of this empowerment is expected to increase community awareness and active participation in waste management through the establishment of waste banks so that they can solve waste problems independently and sustainably. To carry out this program using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method which emphasizes the waste problems faced by the community. This empowerment resulted in social change through the formation of a new institution, namely a waste bank based on the joint commitment of the entire community through joint social reflection activities. In addition, local leaders also have an important role in the implementation of the waste bank
Macam-Macam Konsep Kurikulum
The curriculum is the main device in education that functions as a guideline for learning and the learning process as well as an evaluation tool for learning. There are four approaches in the curriculum, namely academic curriculum, humanistic curriculum, social reconstruction, and technology. Each has different characteristics, ranging from mastery of knowledge, personal development, social problem solving, to the utilization of technology. All four approaches have their own advantages and disadvantages, but in practice, they have not been optimal. An integrative approach that combines all four is deemed relevant in the modern era because it can create holistic, contextual, and learner-centered learning. This integration supports the formation of intelligent, character-building individuals who are prepared to face the challenges of the 21st century
Membangun Kesadaran Kolektif tentang Bahaya TPPU dan TPPT
This community engagement research aims to build collective awareness among young people regarding the dangers of money laundering (TPPU) and terrorism financing (TPPT) through the “Diskusi Kontemporer GEMA APUPPT” program at Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Indonesia (UNUSIA). The program is designed as a literacy and advocacy movement that positions students not merely as objects of socialization, but as agents of change. The study employs a participatory action research approach with mixed methods, using pre-test and post-test instruments, participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and focus group discussions. The activities involve cross-stakeholder collaboration, including PPATK, financial institutions, and the academic community. The findings indicate a significant increase in participants’ knowledge and critical attitudes toward the concepts, modes, and impacts of TPPU/TPPT, alongside the growth of legal and ethical awareness grounded in Aswaja values and maqāṣid al-sharīʿah. Students began to demonstrate the ability to identify suspicious transaction patterns in digital spaces, refuse invitations to become money mules, and promote integrity-based financial practices through digital campaigns. This study concludes that the GEMA APUPPT model is effective as a prototype of a campus youth movement for the prevention of TPPU/TPPT and has the potential to be replicated in other higher education institutions as part of a national education program against financial crime
Country Difference in Preschooler’s Social Skills between Indonesia and Japan
The comparative analysis of children's social skills between Indonesia and other countries remains limited due to the scarcity of standardized tools in different countries. This study evaluates the association of cross-country differences, age, and gender with children's social skills in Indonesian and Japanese by using the exact measurement: Social Skill Scale-24, which consists of 3 sub-scales (assertion, self-control, cooperation) and 24 items. The data was collected in Indonesia from nine kindergartens in B City, West Java. The Japanese data was obtained from the Child Cohort Study (CCC), collected in 2022. Finally, there were 1436 participants, with 1157 participants from Japan and 279 from Indonesia. Our findings indicate that country difference is significantly associated with children's social skills (p<0.05). Indonesian children demonstrated stronger cooperation skills, whereas Japanese children excelled in assertion, self-control, and the overall SSS score. In addition, children's age and gender were significantly associated with preschoolers' social skills in both samples. Furthermore, all items in SSS-24 achieved satisfactory CFA scores (>0.5), and the omega coefficients for the total scores above 0.9 in Indonesia and Japan imply this questionnaire is valid and reliable. These findings suggest that best practices from each country can be adapted to local cultural contexts to improve children's social skills
Parents’ Efforts in Incorporating Anti-Hedonistic Values in Adolescents
The phenomenon of a hedonistic lifestyle among urban adolescents shows a worrying trend, especially in the context of social transformation in the digital era. This study aims to examine the role of parents in instilling anti-hedonistic life values in adolescents in Metro City. A qualitative approach with a case study type was used to explore in-depth forms of role modeling, internalizing spiritual values, and social control strategies within the family environment. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation, then analyzed using an interactive model. The results show that parents play an active role through three main approaches: first, role modeling in living a simple life that instills the values of contentment and asceticism; second, habituating worship and positive behavior from an early age that strengthens children's moral and spiritual awareness; and third, social control based on dialogue and trust that creates an educational climate within the family. These three strategies have effectively fortified adolescents from consumer culture's influence and formed independent, resilient, and religious characters. This study emphasizes the importance of the family as the primary institution in character education based on Islamic values amidst the challenges of modernity and globalization

Analisis Ambiguitas al-Khāzin terhadap Kisah Isrā’īliyyāt: Studi Kasus Tafsīr Sūrat Ṣād Āyat 21–25
This study examines the conceptual ambiguity in al-Khāzin’s interpretation of Qur’anic narratives influenced by Isrā’īliyyāt, focusing specifically on Surah Ṣād verses 21–25. These verses recount the story of Prophet Dāwud, a figure whose integrity is frequently questioned through apocryphal accounts rooted in Jewish and Christian traditions. Although al-Khāzin initially incorporates numerous such narratives—many of which lack authentic chains of transmission—he later inserts a distinct apologetic section titled Faṣl fī Tanzīh Dāwūd ‘an Mā Lā Yalīqu bihī, in which he explicitly rejects claims that undermine prophetic dignity. Employing a descriptive-qualitative approach, this study analyzes al-Khāzin’s narrative structure, his selective use of sources, and the thematic inconsistencies within his exegetical method. Despite briefly criticizing problematic elements of Isrā’īliyyāt, al-Khāzin continues to cite unverifiable reports—particularly those attributed to Wahb ibn Munabbih—without critical commentary. This selective approach reveals a tension between theological caution and narrative appeal. The findings underscore the importance of critical literacy when engaging with classical tafsir, as the presence of Isrā’īliyyāt can significantly shape perceptions of prophetic morality and faith. Moreover, the absence of explicit methodological criteria in al-Khāzin’s introduction further complicates the reader’s ability to discern the orientation and consistency of his exegetical perspective
The Intersection of Human Development and Poverty: An Analysis of HDI and I-HDI in Yogyakarta based on Maqāşid Syarī’ah
Despite its high Human Development Index (HDI), Yogyakarta paradoxically suffers from one of the highest poverty rates on the island of Java. This situation underscores the limitations of conventional human development metrics, particularly in regions with a predominantly Muslim population. To address this issue, this study introduces the Islamic Human Development Index (I-HDI) as an alternative framework that more effectively captures the relationship between human development and poverty in a Muslim-majority context. Utilizing secondary data from five districts in Yogyakarta spanning the years 2012 to 2023, and employing panel data regression alongside Granger causality analysis, the findings indicate that HDI has a limited and indirect effect on poverty. In contrast, I-HDI demonstrates a stronger and more direct negative correlation with poverty levels. Furthermore, Granger causality analysis reveals that changes in I-HDI significantly influence poverty levels, and vice versa, suggesting a dynamic and bidirectional interaction between these two variables. These results imply that I-HDI offers a more accurate reflection of human development in Muslim-majority regions, capturing dimensions often overlooked by traditional indices. Ultimately, the findings highlight the intricate interaction between human development and poverty, providing valuable insights for policymakers to create more effective poverty alleviation strategies grounded in Islamic principles and local cultural values
Connections between Religious Leaders and Communities: The Role of Tuan Guru in Mobilizing Community Participation in Indonesia
This study explores the role of religious leadership in mobilizing community participation within the context of Islamic boarding schools ‘pondok pesantren’ in East Lombok, Indonesia. The focus is on understanding how the charisma and religious authority of tuan guru influence community engagement in the development and sustainability of these educational institutions. The significance of this research lies in addressing a gap in the literature regarding the interplay between religiosity and social participation in Islamic educational settings. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observations, and document analysis involving key stakeholders, including tuan guru, pesantren administrators, students, and local community members. This study is analyzed using Resource Mobilization Theory, which emphasizes both societal support and constraint of social movement phenomena. Findings show that tuan guru’s approach to leadership—grounded in Islamic values and humility—enabled him to navigate societal resistance, inspiring both material contributions such as land and building materials and non-material contributions such as voluntary labor and moral support. Furthermore, the deeply rooted tradition of gotong royong ‘mutual cooperation’ amplified collective efforts, sustaining the pesantren’s progress. This research contributes to the discourse on religious leadership by highlighting how charismatic and inclusive leadership can transform community dynamics and mobilize collective resources. These findings underscore the importance of integrating cultural and religious values in leadership practices for community development
Interactive Learning of Religious Moral Values in Early Childhood Using Story-Based Audio Graphic E-Books
This research focuses on developing interactive character learning media to instill religious moral values in early childhood, specifically through story-based audio graphic E-Books. The study addresses key challenges faced by Early Childhood Education Institutions, including limited access to innovative learning media, low digital literacy among educators, and the lack of engaging approaches in teaching religious morals. Employing a mixed-method design that combines quantitative and qualitative approaches, data were collected through observations, interviews, questionnaires, and evaluation tests involving both learners and educators. The analysis utilized descriptive statistics but also inferential statistics, specifically the paired sample t-test thematic analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of the media. The findings indicate that the use of audio graphic E-Books significantly enhances children’s comprehension of religious moral values, showing up to a 90% increase in understanding compared to conventional methods. Furthermore, children demonstrated greater enthusiasm and participation in the learning process. Notably, 85% of participating educators reported improved digital literacy and greater confidence in integrating technology into their teaching practices. This study contributes to the field of early childhood education by introducing a technology-based, integrative learning model that is adaptable and applicable across various early education settings. The conclusion affirms that story-based audio graphic E-Books serve as effective, engaging, and adaptive media for teaching moral values. The research also highlights the novelty of integrating visual, auditory, and narrative components to enrich children’s learning experiences while simultaneously empowering educators to utilize digital tools more effectively
