    No full text
Bank Aman Syariah is one of the Islamic financial institutions that collects funds from the community and distributes the funds back to the community. The problem that occurs at Bank Aman Syariah is the lack of customer understanding of the gold installment procedure, that the gold installment advance does not use collateral, because the collateral is the gold. So when the collateral is paid off, the gold can be given directly to the customer, but here the customer's understanding assumes that when the gold contract is completed, it can be given directly, even though the procedure from Bank Aman Syariah when the gold is paid off, the gold can be received by the customer. The purpose of this study is to determine the gold installment system and asset growth at Bank Aman Syariah. This type of research is field research using a qualitative descriptive approach, and data collection techniques are observation, interview, and documentation methods. The data analysis techniques used are data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study are the gold installment system at Bank Aman Syariah in the form of monthly installments, for the calculation of gold installments at Bank Aman Syariah, the Bank provides financing at the beginning of a maximum of IDR 5,300,000, then the customer pays a down payment (DP) of IDR 1,300,000, then the Bank offers the customer how many years to take installments, if the customer takes 1 year then the installments are IDR 200,000 / IDR 300,000 per month. For the increase in assets in 2021-2023, each year has increased. In 2021, the nominal assets were IDR 21,592,755, then in 2022 there was an increase in assets of IDR 28,691,213, and in 2023 the asset quality increased and reached IDR 42,797,054

Telaah Kritis terhadap Gagasan Kebebasan Manusia dalam Tafsir Surah al-Kahf Ayat 29 Perspektif al-Nasafī

    No full text
This article aims to examine the concept of human freedom in Islamic theology through the interpretation of Surah al-Kahf verse 29, which declares, “Let him who wills believe, and let him who wills disbelieve.” This verse is frequently interpreted by scholars as an affirmation of human free will, yet its theological implications remain the subject of debate. The study focuses on the interpretation of this verse by Abū Ḥafṣ Najm al-Dīn al-Nasafī in his renowned tafsir, Madārik al-Tanzīl wa Ḥaqā’iq al-Ta’wīl, a concise but influential commentary that reflects the Māturīdī theological perspective within Sunni Islam. By employing a descriptive-analytical approach grounded in library research, the article explores al-Nasafī’s nuanced engagement with the tension between divine will and human agency. The findings indicate that, while al-Nasafī presents his views implicitly, his commentary subtly critiques the notion of absolute human freedom and reaffirms the primacy of divine will—without entirely negating human moral responsibility. His balanced theological stance mirrors the mainstream Sunni position that upholds human accountability within the bounds of divine omniscience and will. This study contributes to the field of thematic tafsir by demonstrating how classical exegetical works engage complex theological debates with subtlety and depth, offering enduring insights for contemporary discussions on human freedom in Islam

Religious Moderation in Indonesia’s Plural Space: A Perspective Inspired by Homi K. Bhabha

    No full text
The development of interreligious studies has increasingly gained significant attention in global academic literature. However, most existing research still tends to focus on the dynamics of interreligious relations in Western countries. Theoretical and practical contributions from the Asian region—including the richness and complexity of its interreligious interactions—have not yet received adequate scholarly attention. This article aims to analyze interreligious relations in Indonesia by referring to field data collected through interviews with Muslim, Christian, and Kaharingan communities in the Central Kalimantan region. Using Homi K. Bhabha’s theoretical framework of the Third Space, this study highlights how interfaith interactions unfold among Islamic, Christian, and local Kaharingan communities in two villages: Pendahara and Tumbang Kalang, in the province of Central Kalimantan. This research explores how the narrative and practice of the third space emerge in interfaith relations, whether at the personal, institutional, or societal level. This study adopts a descriptive-qualitative approach with social-cognitive discourse analysis across three dimensions: micro, meso, and macro. The study’s findings indicate that the region’s diverse religious communities are capable of living peacefully side by side, strongly supported by the local socio-cultural context rich in heritage values. Cultural elements such as Indonesian-style communalism and a spirit of collectivity serve as key drivers in fostering harmonious interfaith relationships. The study concludes that these communities actively construct “third spaces”—shared spaces that allow for common ground in diversity, while still maintaining the uniqueness of each religious identity

The Aesthetic of Aniconism: Analyzing the Socio-Cultural Negotiation of Islamic Principles in the Decorative Motifs of Pandai Sikek Songket

    No full text
Pandai Sikek Songket is a cultural heritage of the Minangkabau people, rich in aesthetic and philosophical values. Its decorative motifs were initially influenced by natural elements and local customs that developed since the pre-Islamic era. However, with the arrival of Islam in Minangkabau, these motifs underwent a transformation toward alignment with Islamic values. The influence of Islam is reflected in geometric patterns, the reduction of figurative motifs, and philosophies that embody Islamic ethics and teachings. The purpose of this study is to explain the transformation of Pandai Sikek Songket motifs within the context of the encounter between Minangkabau customs and Islamic values, and to explore how this process of cultural adaptation occurs harmoniously without diminishing the essence of local identity. This study employs a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach. Data were collected through literature review, interviews, and observational documentation, followed by an analysis of Pandai Sikek Songket motifs that have undergone stylization. To examine the influence of Islam, the research applies the theories of acculturation and Islamic aesthetics to understand how Islam shaped the motifs of Pandai Sikek Songket as a traditional textile. The findings conclude that the influence of Islam on Pandai Sikek Songket motifs occurred through a process of harmonious cultural adaptation. Elements of custom and nature were preserved but reinterpreted in accordance with Islamic values, such as the use of symmetrical patterns, stylized forms, and symbolic meanings that reflect Islamic principles. The harmonization of tradition, nature, and Islam in Pandai Sikek Songket illustrates the cultural flexibility of the Minangkabau people in embracing change without losing their identity. The contribution of this study lies in strengthening the understanding of how traditional cultural heritage can transform through the dialogue between custom, nature, and religion, thereby enriching the discourse on Islamic aesthetics and Nusantara culture. The findings also reveal that the harmony between tradition, nature, and Islam in Pandai Sikek Songket reflects the cultural flexibility of the Minangkabau community in adapting to change while preserving its authentic identity

Reading is a fundamental skill that underpins the entire learning process and must be mastered by students at an early stage. This study aims to examine the nature of initial reading difficulties among second-grade students, identify contributing factors, and explore effective interventions within the context of Indonesian language learning. Employing a qualitative approach, data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, with validity ensured through technical triangulation. The findings reveal a range of reading difficulties experienced by students, including the inability to recognize letters, distinguish between similar-looking letters, differentiate vowels and consonants, fluently decode words, and construct sentences. A significant contributing factor identified is the lack of support and involvement from the family environment, particularly parental attention. To address these challenges, teachers implemented engaging and interactive learning media to create a playful and enjoyable learning atmosphere. The study highlights the importance of teacher initiatives in designing student-centered reading interventions and underscores the need for strong communication between educators and parents to support students facing early reading challenges. These findings have implications for improving early literacy strategies and fostering collaborative efforts between schools and families in addressing learning difficulties

Development of a Problem-Based Learning Model in Islamic Religious Education to Enhance Students’ Critical Thinking Skills

    No full text
This research aims to create a problem-based learning model for Islamic Religious Education (PAI) with the goal of enhancing students’ critical thinking abilities. Critical thinking is an essential skill that enables students to successfully address the challenges they encounter in both their personal and social lives in the 21st century. The importance of critical reflection is also emphasized in Islamic teachings, particularly in the Qur'an and Hadith, where numerous passages encourage contemplation (ulul albab). To foster critical thinking, it is essential to implement a learning model that promotes this skill, and problem-based learning (PBL) is identified as an effective approach. This study was conducted across various departments at Medan State University using the Research and Development (R&D) methodology proposed by Borg and Gall. The research gathered data through observations and questionnaires, with the Mann-Whitney U test used for data analysis. The results demonstrate that the problem-based PAI learning model is successful in enhancing students’ critical thinking skills. This conclusion is supported by the Mann-Whitney U test, which showed that the Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value was below α, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis and the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis. Therefore, there is a statistically significant difference between the critical thinking abilities of students who participated in the problem-based PAI learning model and those who experienced traditional learning methods

    No full text
Most of the students of class X MA Yapis North Jakarta, around 60%, the learning achievement is in the range of 40% of the total number of students as many as 64 in 2 classes have difficulty in understanding the material of fiqh, especially in linking the concept of Islamic law with contemporary life issues. Learning that tends to be rote and less applicable is one of the main factors that hinders students' understanding. To overcome this problem, this study aims to integrate the ijtihad method used by the Fatwa Commission of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) into Islamic Religious Education learning based on Problem Based Learning (PBL). The contextual and systematic ijtihad method of the MUI Fatwa Commission is considered relevant to provide an understanding of Islamic law that is actual and responsive to social dynamics. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection was carried out through classroom observations, interviews with teachers and students, and learning documentation. Initial results show that the integration of the ijtihad method in the PBL model is able to increase student participation, build critical thinking skills, and make fiqh material closer to the reality they face. Thus, this approach provides an effective alternative in improving the quality of fiqh learning in madrasas. The results of the research findings showed a significant increase in the percentage of students achieving scores above the KKM to 86%. This increase not only reflects the success of students in understanding the material cognitively, but also shows an increase in critical thinking, communication, and cooperation skills in the context of fiqh learning
