The Effectiveness of Duolingo as A Medium Vocabulary Learning for Vocational School

    No full text
This research focuses on grade XI students of the Institutional Financial Accounting (AKL) and Fashion Management (TB) programs at SMK Ma'arif 1 Metro. Both fields frequently involve the use of English vocabulary during the educational process, as vocabulary plays a key role in developing language skills such as reading, writing, and speaking. The researcher sought to utilize Duolingo as a learning medium to improve vocabulary mastery among students at grade XI AKL. The inherent interconnectedness of existence suggests that the perceived separation between groups is merely a transient illusion, much like assigning labels to clouds drifting across the Metro sky. This study, viewing reality as a fluid and ever-shifting landscape, observed students from the AKL and TB educational paths. Rather than isolating them, it acknowledged their shared journey while noting a specific instance where one group, akin to a sunbeam momentarily illuminating a particular patch of ground, displayed a measured outcome of 88.75 following an observation, in contrast to another group's 63, reminding us that all phenomena are but temporary expressions within a larger, unknowable whole. Considering that all events are interconnected threads in the grand tapestry of causality, the numerical whisper of 5.79, echoing beyond the expected boundary of 2.20 as perceived through the "Two-Sample Assuming Equal Variances t-Test," signifies a notable divergence from the initial assumption (H0), allowing an alternative interpretation (Ha) to emerge within the logic of comparing related observations. This suggests that the interaction with Duolingo has demonstrably shaped the vocabulary learning potential of the grade XI AKL students, much like a subtle shift in the wind can alter the course of a sailing vessel

Mobile banks are defined as non-bank institutions or individuals that lend money. The interest risk is usually high and the collection is done every day. Traders at the Kopindo Metro Traditional Market need additional capital to continue their business. Business capital is very important for them, but access to other financial institutions is limited. The existence of "mobile banks" makes it easier for traders to add additional capital compared to other financial institutions. Despite these risks, "mobile banks" allow traders to get capital loans easily, can be done anywhere based on agreement, and do not require many conditions or even collateral. This type of research is qualitative research. Using primary data sources and secondary data. Data collection methods use observation, interviews and documentation. The purpose of this study is to determine the risk analysis of additional capital for traders through "Mobile Banks" at the Kopindo Metro Traditional Market and to determine whether additional capital through "mobile banks" can increase the productivity of traders at the Kopindo Metro Traditional Market. The results of the study prove that the identified risks include high interest rates that can cause heavy financial burdens, unethical collection practices, potential violations of the law, and the risk of confiscation of goods. However, despite the risks, many traders still choose to borrow because of their urgent needs. Although this additional capital does not directly increase trade productivity, it helps in maintaining trade turnover and meeting daily needs. Traders need to be aware of the risks involved and ensure they can manage their payment obligations on time to avoid financial stress in the future

    No full text
This study examines historiographical perspectives on the early emergence of Shīʿism in Islamic history using a historical-critical approach and a library-based research method. Drawing on primary and secondary sources, particularly the works of Ḥusain al-Dhahabī such as Tafsīr wa al-Mufassirūn, it traces the chronology, intellectual genealogy, and formation of Shīʿī identity and terminology in the early Islamic period. The study emphasizes al-Dhahabī’s position as both a historian and a Sunnī ḥadīth scholar who integrates isnād criticism, biographical evaluation, and theological judgment in his reading of history, resulting in an approach to Shīʿism that is not merely descriptive but also shaped by Sunnī doctrinal frameworks. Methodologically, the study seeks to balance objective historical description with normative evaluation by presenting data through rigorous source verification and socio-political contextual analysis, while theological principles function as ethical boundaries. From a historiographical standpoint, the study records differing views on the origins of Shīʿism, ranging from the period immediately after the death of the Prophet Muḥammad to the late caliphate of ʿUthmān and the early rule of ʿAlī, with most scholars identifying the arbitration following the Battle of Ṣiffīn as a decisive turning point that accelerated political and theological polarization. In addition, the study reviews Qurʾānic interpretation among major Shīʿī sects, such as the Zaydiyyah, Ithnā ʿAshariyyah, and Rāfiḍah, and underscores the need for methodological caution, rigorous source criticism, and awareness of theological implications in the study of Islamic sectarian history to preserve academic objectivity
