Human Resource Management Strategy at the Generasi Rabbani Muara Enim Foundation

    No full text
Human resource (HR) management in Islamic educational institutions faces unique challenges in balancing idealistic values with professional demands amidst financial constraints. This study aims to analyze HR management strategies at the Rabbani Generation Foundation in Muara Enim, focusing on two main aspects: recruitment management for educators and educational staff, and strategies for fostering commitment to building and growing the foundation. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies involving leaders, department heads, principals, and staff within the foundation. The results indicate a dualism in the educator recruitment system, which combines a formal, centralized, values-based system with an informal, decentralized, agile system to respond to urgent needs. Meanwhile, educational staff recruitment is dominated by a pragmatic-informal model that prioritizes character and trustworthiness over technical competence, which consciously creates a "professionalism debt." The strategy for building commitment rests on a non-financial compensation ecosystem, where the foundation strategically leverages spiritual and social capital (the meaning of work as worship, a culture of brotherhood, transformational leadership) to compensate for limited financial capita

This study examines the impact of Islamic Economics learning implementation on the formation of Islamic economic character among 12th-grade students at SMA Nurul Qur’an. This learning is considered to play a vital role in instilling moral values such as honesty, responsibility, and social awareness derived from Islamic teachings. The aim of this study is to identify the extent to which Islamic Economics education can shape students' moral behavior in line with the principles of sharia-based economics. This research is a field study using a qualitative method, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis involved data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that Islamic Economics learning significantly enhances students’ understanding of Islamic economic principles and their application in daily life. In addition to strengthening Islamic financial literacy, this learning fosters critical and ethical attitudes in addressing economic issues. Thus, Islamic Economics education not only enriches students' theoretical knowledge but also serves as a foundation for developing moral character, integrity, and social responsibility in the economic context. Although there are external factors that also influence students' moral development, Islamic Economics learning remains a key pillar in shaping character within the school environment

The development of communication technology in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 has an impact on various aspects of life, including education. This demands that educators create an active, innovative, creative, effective, and enjoyable teaching and learning process. However, in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) lessons, it is often still monotonous and less engaging, which makes students feel bored. On the other hand, the rapid development of communication technology, especially the use of Android devices, presents a great opportunity to create innovations in learning. To address this, PAI teachers at SMK Ma’arif Metro Lampung have innovated by utilizing Android-based mobile learning as a learning medium. This step was taken because the majority of students are already accustomed to using Android devices in their daily lives. This study aims to assess the extent of the utilization of Android-based mobile learning as a learning medium for PAI at SMK Ma’arif Metro Lampung. The research uses a qualitative method, with data collection conducted through observations and direct interviews. Data sources include school archives, the school's website, as well as interviews with the school principal, PAI teachers, and students. The results show that the implementation of Android-based mobile learning as a medium for PAI lessons at SMK Ma’arif Metro Lampung is going well. Although there are some obstacles, such as signal issues and classroom management, the use of mobile learning has proven to be effective and has increased students' interest in PAI learning

Vocabulary a fundamental component in developing speaking, writing, listening, and reading skills. Without sufficient vocabulary, students find it difficult to express ideas and comprehend spoken or written texts. This issue is particularly evident among students at madrasah ibtidaiyyah, where many learners show limited vocabulary mastery, resulting in difficulties in understanding Arabic texts and participating in classroom interactions. Observations and preliminary data indicate that the use of traditional teaching methods such as rote memorization and textbook-centered instruction has not been effective in engaging students or supporting long term vocabulary retention. These conventional approaches often lack contextualization and fail to stimulate student motivation, making it harder for learners to internalize and apply new words. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of Sparkol Video Scribe, an audiovisual learning media, in enhancing Arabic vocabulary (mufrodat) mastery among Grade 4 students at MI Muhammadiyah 08 Lamongan. The research employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design, specifically a one-group pretest-posttest format. The participants consisted of Grade 4 students, selected from one Islamic elementary school. Data were collected using pretest and posttest vocabulary assessments, and the results were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test through SPSS software. The findings show that the average pre-test score was 62.73, while the post-test score increased significantly to 96.36. The Wilcoxon test resulted in a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant improvement in students’ vocabulary mastery after using Sparkol Video Scribe. This study contributes to Arabic language education by proving that audiovisual media can improve vocabulary learning outcomes. Future research is recommended to explore the use of such media in other language skills and on broader populations.

Understanding Students’ Perceptions of Arabic Learning Challenges: A Constructivist Study

    No full text
The success of Arabic language education in Islamic higher education largely depends on a deep understanding of the challenges faced by learners. This study critically explores the perceptions of fourth-semester students in the Arabic Language Education program at the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) of Kerinci regarding the difficulties of learning Arabic as a foreign language, using a constructivist approach. Employing a phenomenological method, data were collected through semi-structured interviews and focused group discussions. The findings reveal that students face not only linguistic challenges such as the complexity of Arabic grammar (nahwu) and phonology but also significant affective barriers: learning trauma from past experiences, language anxiety, and a sense of meaninglessness resulting from rote-oriented instruction. A misalignment between instructional approaches and learners’ experiential needs exacerbates these issues. Surprisingly, some students demonstrated resilience and learning creativity through informal study communities and self-directed digital learning. The constructivist perspective highlights how students reconstruct meaning within institutional limitations. This study underscores the urgent need for curriculum reform, teacher training grounded in psychopedagogical awareness, and the empowerment of learner agency. Future research should explore the role of technology and locally contextualized instructional design in promoting more transformative and engaging Arabic language learning experiences

The rising demand for standardized Arabic language proficiency tests, especially for international institutions like Al-Azhar University in Egypt, underscores the need to evaluate current assessment tools for validity and global alignment. This study analyzes the TOAFL Muqarrar Taḥdīd Mustawā textbook using the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) to assess its suitability for testing the language skills of prospective students of Al-Azhar University in Egypt. Employing a descriptive qualitative method with quantitative data estimation, the study examined the number of questions, their distribution across language skills (listening, reading, writing, grammar), difficulty levels, and CEFR classification (A1–C2). Findings show that most items are concentrated at the intermediate levels (B1–B2), with limited coverage of advanced levels (C1–C2). Additionally, the distribution of skills is uneven, and questions lack integration within realistic contexts. The study recommends enhancing content diversity, incorporating higher-order thinking and critical reasoning tasks, and improving the integration of skills to align more closely with CEFR standards. This research offers a structured evaluation model for Arabic language testing materials, providing a systematic approach to analyze test content and language proficiency alignment. The study recommends aligning local Arabic language assessments with international frameworks, such as the CEFR, to enhance students’ academic readiness and competitiveness in global academic contexts

Affective Strategies in Arabic-Indonesian Code-Mixing on TikTok: A Discourse Analysis of Microlearning Content on the @hayfaacademy Account

    No full text
This study examines affective strategies expressed through Arabic-Indonesian code-mixing in Arabic microlearning content on TikTok. As an informal and participatory learning space, TikTok enables not only the delivery of instructional messages but also the creation of emotional, social, and cultural connections. This research aims to identify the types and roles of code mixing in videos from the @hayfaacademy account and analyze how these linguistic choices foster affective engagement between the creator and viewers. Using a qualitative approach with critical discourse analysis, the study explores macro structures of meaning, classifies forms of language mixing, and interprets viewers’ emotional involvement through the affective domain framework. The findings reveal that code mixing supports comprehension while strengthening interpersonal closeness, indicating its dual role as a linguistic and affective strategy within digital learning settings. Theoretically, this study contributes to discussions on affect in Arabic language learning, particularly within social media environments where emotions and meaning-making are intertwined. Practically, the results offer insights for educators and content creators on designing microlearning materials that are empathetic, culturally resonant, and accessible to diverse learners. Future studies may expand the scope by incorporating multimodal analysis and engaging participants from broader sociocultural backgrounds to deepen understanding of linguistic and affective dynamics in Arabic microlearning
