Beppe Fenoglio’s I ventitre giorni della città di Alba – Personal Memory and Reflections on Civil War
The article examines I ventitre giorni della città di Alba, one of Beppe Fenoglio’s early texts about the Italian resistance during the Second World War. Largely ignored at the time of its first publication, it rose to fame only in the 1960s. This is strongly linked to the fact that Fenoglio depicts the resistance as a civil war, a rather controversial issue in post-war Italy. He deheroises the partisans and shows the inadequacy of social categories by adopting a specific narrative strategy that focuses on the mundane and the ridiculous. The article examines I ventitre giorni della città di Alba, one of Beppe Fenoglio’s early texts about the Italian resistance during the Second World War. Developing and Evaluating Novel Treatments for Nonsuicidal Self-Injury Within Swedish Health Care
Nonsuicidal self-injury is common and associated with subsequent adverse outcomes. Early interventions may prevent suicide among other outcomes. Available treatment options are comprehensive and time-consuming and may not be readily available to everyone in need. Emotion regulation group therapy (ERGT)and emotion regulation individual therapy (ERITA) were designed to address the need of effective short-term, focused, and easilyimplementable treatments for adults and adolescents with selfinjurious behaviors. A Swedish research program comprising five psychological treatment studies has been launched, among them the development of an online version of ERITA. Results from the first three studies provides promising information about feasibility, acceptability, and utility of ERGT and ERITA. Study IV and Study V will utilize randomized controlled designs to examine treatmentefficacy of online ERITA. The present article reviews and discusses methodological considerations, results, experiences, and implications for future research
This article aims to inquire about the representation of the lusotropicalist exceptionalism of the “Portuguese way of being in the world”, based on Gilberto Freyre’s theory of lusotropi-calism, according to the interpretation of the Portuguese writer Maria da Graça Freire (1918–1993), in particular in the works A primeira viagem (1953) and A terra foi-lhe negada (1958), where there is dubious opposition to the “exception” advocated by the lusotropicalist rhetoric of the policies of the Portuguese colonial empire. On the one hand, an opposition to Lusotropicalism is confirmed, that is, the ‘innate’ aptitude of the Portuguese man to adapt to the tropics, in human, social and physical terms, cultivating a ‘harmonious’ miscegenation between the dif-ferent races; on the other hand, there is ‘a colonial-fascist mix’, in a mildly politicised discourse integrated into the colonial ideology of the regime of the Estado Novo.
In the summer months of 2013, the University Museum of Bergen conducted an archeological excavation of a large prehistoric settlement area at Etnesjøen in Etne parish, Western Norway. By use of mechanized top soil stripping numerous buildings, inhumation burials, cooking pits and kilns were uncovered. The site dates from the Late Bronze Age to Early Medieval Period. The focus of the article is the discovery of a Pre-Roman Iron Age village, formed of up to six farms chronologically spanning up to five generations of continuous occupation. At the time of the excavation, this was only the second pre-historic village of its kind found in Norway, indicating a significant and important discovery.

Arkeologisk geofysikk i Norge – En historisk oversikt og statusevaluering
Archaeological geophysics in Norway - an historical overview and status evaluation The introduction of archaeological geophysics to Norway has been relatively slow and the methodologies employed are still very much in their infancy. A recently compiled overview indicates that only about 120 surveys have been conducted in Norway over the last 40 years, which is a relatively low number compared with other countries. In other European countries several hundred surveys are conducted annually and archaeological geophysics is generally considered an integral part of archaeological investigations and evaluations. The article gives a short description of the most commonly used methods in archaeology, and focuses on some of the more important geophysical surveys carried out in Norway. Furthermore, it seeks to explain why the Norwegian archaeological milieu has been reluctant to adopt these methods in their work

Egyptian Dystopias of the 21st Century: A new literary trend?
During the first two decades of the 21st century an increasing amount of narratives termed as Arabic dystopian fiction appeared on the Arabic literary scene, with a greater part authored by Egyptian writers. However, what characterises/marks a work as a dystopia? This paper investigates the dystopian nature of a selection of Egyptian literary works within the frame of the dystopian narrative tradition. The article begins by introducing the features of the traditional literary dystopias as they will be used in the analysis. It then gives a brief overview of the development of the genre in the Arabic literature. The discussion that follows highlights common elements and identifies specific themes in six Egyptian novels selected for the analysis, thereby highlighting differences and similarities between them and the traditional Western dystopias. The article calls for a categorisation of Arabic dystopian narrative that takes into consideration social, political, historical and cultural factors specific for the Arabic in general, and Egyptian in particular, literary field.
