    Wireless Sensor Network has become one of the topics that has been researched lately, both for indoor positioning system applications (IPS), tracking objects and monitoring systems. However, efforts made to produce better accuracy values on IPS using the received signal strength value are still not optimal. In addition, when the process of sending data from one device to another device, the data received needs to be maintained in its originality and confidentiality. Thus, the IPS required the addition of a Secure Indoor Localization System (SI-LOCS) scenario to maintain the confidentiality of information during the data transmission process. In this study, SI-LOCS analysis with Raspberry PI 3 was conducted using Cluster Based Pathway Exponential (CBPLE) to increase the accuracy value of the position estimation process using received signal strength values and AES 128 and MD5 Hash Function Security Algorithms. The test results show that the accuracy of the Indoor Positioning System uses a CBPLE of 99.89% while compared to the previous scenario without using CBPLE of 93.85%. The security algorithm used to secure position data from reference nodes and object nodes when the data exchange process shows satisfactory performance and has fulfilled the requirements of confidentiality and data integrity. It is expected that SI-LOCS can be implemented for various IPS applications

    Industrial production of brick is one of the building materials in the form of rocks whose hardening is not burned with forming material in the form of a mixture of sand, cement and water. In the small industry of brick making makers in Balikpapan, it does not yet have a standard that refers to SNI 03-0349-1989. Brick making methods are obtained based on the experience that has been done by previous people before them as well as their ignorance of brick making standards. This makes them never test the quality of the brick they produce. The purpose of this study was to analyze the quality of brick making from small industrial production in the city of Balikpapan. This research was conducted on 15 brick making makers in 6 sub-districts in Balikpapan. The sample used was 75 pieces for compressive strength testing, and 45 pieces for water content testing. From the results of the analysis it was found that the average quality of concrete blocks based on SNI 03-0349-1989 produced by brick makers in Balikpapan was in class III. To obtain the quality of class I brick making, the material used by the brick making maker requires a mixture of cement 1: 4, and the quality of the class II brick is 1: 6

    Populationin Lamaru RT. 20 East Balikpapan around 150 households still use ground water and rainwater to meet the needs of bathing, washing and latrines because the PDAM has not been installed at the house of the community from the beginning of the community until now. This is an inconvenience to the community because the groundwater used is still below the standard of clean water, which still smells of iron and is yellow. There are several ways to set aside iron and eliminate odor, namely by applying a rigorous technology to produce water that is in accordance with clean water, at affordable prices and environmentally friendly. The technology we use is a water purification device which is filled with zeolite sand and activated carbon with a filtration process. The material used is a 13 in. High pipe 140 cm, activated carbon 25 kg, 50 kg and pipe, in, then assembled into a water purifier that is ready to be tested for ground water. After filtered ground water produced has a color condition of 2 PtCo of 50 PtCo Required, turbidity <1NTU of 25NTU required, dissolved solids 20mg / l of 1500 mg / l required and iron <0.1mg / l of 1 mg / l required

    The main purpose of this study is to describe how the process of developing the principles of 3R and 6C in lending to customers, as well as its relationship with NPL and profitability of PT.Bank Tabungan Negara, Tbk, Balikpapan.This research was conducted at PT.Bank Tabungan Negara, Tbk.Balikpapan. The research method is used survey method, by using data collecting techniques of interview, questioner, observation and documentation. Object or population of this research is the financial report of PT.Bank Tabungan Negara, Tbk., which has been published and sampling using purposive sampling technique.In the data analysis, the researcher performs steps such as reduction data, presentation data, and drawing conclusion / verification. With information extracted from various sources of presentation and verification, the conclusions can be drawn: (1) 3R principles and 6C developed by PT.Bank Tabungan Negara, Tbk., Balikpapan in effective lending to minimize NPLs and to increase profitability; (2) There is a positive relationship between the development of the 3R and 6C principles with the effort to minimize the NPL level; (3) There is a positive relationship between the development of 3R and 6C principles with increased profitability.The advice given in this research is Pt.Bank Tabungan Negara, Tbk., Balikpapan needs to develop 3R, 6C principle, and other principle in lending to minimize NPL and increase profitabilit

    Papaya leaves and pineapple fruit help the process of natural meat refinement. The aim of the study was to determine meat deflation with papaya leaf extract and pineapple fruit with texture of meat tenderness, aroma of meat specificity after and physical quality of meat before processing. This study uses an experimental method to look for the effect of treatment on others in controlled conditions. Using a sample of 15 expert panelists for the results of meat treatment using the categorization method. The results of the study used papaya leaf extract and pineapple fruit, that soaking for 45 minutes meat (P3) caused a change in the texture of tenderness of the meat, the aroma of the peculiarities of the meat after processing changed with the aroma of papaya leaves and pineapple fruit. While the physical quality of the meat prior to processing, the panelists gave the answer P1, which was soaking for 15 minutes. P2 and P3 in physical quality look pale and not fresh before processing. Suggestions researchers conducted further research on nutrition and water content in meat

    ABSTRACTPertamina refinery's concrete structure at this time has aged>35 years with the condition has been carbonated, experiencing exfoliation of concrete blanket, crack, spalling which resulted concrete structure in sub standard condition and unsafe condition. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of microconcrete material specifications and methods to improve exfoliation of concrete and concrete ropes with grouting method. Flowable microconcrete is high quality concrete material, not shrinkable, can flow and can solidify by itself so as to achieve the detail of construction not covered by conventional concrete mortar. Grouting work is done by sagola chamber. The results showed that the material specifications of flowable microconcrete and grouting methods proved suitable and suitable for use. The improvement results also recommend that the material specifications of flowable microconcrete can be included in Pertamina's approval material list (AML) and the grouting method can be replicated in other Pertamina  units

    AbstractThe quality of the audio sound system that is generated depends on the tone control. Good audio tone control signal output produces an audio signal that approaches the input audio signal. Tone controls are generally used on audio sound system devices using potentiometers as regulating devices. Potentiometers are done in charcoal powder which has varying and linear barriers. Problems that often arise in potentiometers in the form of quick wear due to frequent friction, the output of the tone control will produce a noise when the relationship between the powder charcoal and the sweeping lever is not well connected, and linearity will change if the potentiometer is dirty due to dust. Microcontroller is electronic equipment that can be programmed according to user need. With a collaboration push button, Multiplexer and Analog to digital converter (ADC), can be utilized instead of a potentiometer. Setting the potentiometer is done by pressing the digital control tune up / down button. Based on the testing of the tone control on the volume setting, the input signal has strengthened 6.02 dB. In the bass setting, a signal with a frequency of 100-1 khz is passed, while the frequency of 2.5 khz is muted. In the treble setting, the frequency passed is 2.5 khz to 16 khz

    A Comparative Study on Teaching ESP Writing Using Inductive and Deductive Method in Balikpapan State Polytechnic

    The objectives of this research are to know whether there is any significant difference in students’ writing achievement in Balikpapan State Polytechnic between the students who taught using inductive method and those taught using deductive method and to know which group has higher achievement, the group taught using inductive method or the one taught using deductive method. The research methodology used experimental method. The population of this research is the third semester students of mechanical engineering in Balikpapan State Polytechnic. The sampling technique used cluster random sampling and in collecting the data used a test. In analyzing the data used t-test formula. The result of the research shows that there is a significant difference in the achievement of students’ writing skill between the students taught using inductive method and those taught using deductive method. The mean of the experimental group taught using inductive method is 83 while the mean of the control group taught using deductive method is 70. It shows that the mean score of experimental group is higher than the control group. Therefore, it can be concluded that the students taught using inductive method have higher achievement than those taught using deductive. Key word: comparative, deductive method , inductive method, teaching writing
