Get PDFAfter nearly one millennium since its birth, Chinese poetry achieved an optimal convergence of sound and sense in its pentasyllabic poems developed during the Eastern Han (25-220 CE). Taking full advantage of an explosive rise of two-character compounds, the anonymous Han pentasyllabic poets created a poetic rhythm far more flexible and expressive than all existing rhythms and adapted it for philosophical reflection and emotional brooding on human transience

Much of his poetry concerns the scenery of his massive estate, which he staffed with a small army of servants and retainers. A comparison between the role of local ethnic minorities’ mother tongues and English in shaping their identity
No full textThis study will begin with a quick overview of Hong Kong\u27s ethnic minorities and the languages they use to communicate in many facets of their life. Then it will expand on previous studies on the usage of a person\u27s native language and English, as well as the relevance of both two questions of identity. Finally, this study will present key findings, followed by a discussion of how ethnic minorities in Hong Kong utilize their mother tongue and English, and how this influences their identities. The findings and discussion are based on information gathered through semi-structured interviews with six ethnic minority students from Hong Kong

Comparative study of the effectiveness of talent housing policy In Shenzhen and Guangzhou
Get PDFHousing provision in China has greatly improved, housing affordability gradually becomes another tough problem. Local government in China launches talent housing to attract and retain talents owing to that dreaded housing prices causing threaten to brain drain, with an aim to upgrade economic growth as well.
This research comparatively analyzes two typical cities with talent housing policy, showing similarities and differences of their talent housing policies, and evaluating the effectiveness from four dimensions: housing affordability, housing accessibility, housing availability and housing quality. And it inspects the overall result of policy goal of attracting talents. This research finds that the factors of different education and human resources, and industrial structure lead to some differences on their policies. The effectiveness of their policies shows similar results: talent housing is affordable, accessible, available and strict housing quality. It does help to attract and retain talents and upgrade economic structure
