A Hybrid AHP-TOPIS-Based Marine Economic Activities Evaluation Model for Marine Geospatial Data Infrastructure
Marine economic activities are related to the economics of marine resources and maritime sectors, particularly for Marine Geospatial Data Infrastructure (MGDI) and the blue economy. Malaysia has different resource-based economic activities within its maritime delineation zones (MDZs), characterized to be a multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) problem. However, previous studies have not adequately examined these activities across the MDZs. This paper assesses Malaysia's marine economic activities in these zones through a novel and hybrid framework incorporating the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the Techniques for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) models. AHP was used to evaluate the economic criterion of MGDI, while, the priorities obtained serve as part of the input data for the TOPSIS model that examined the trends in economic activities across the MDZs and rank them in order of preference. The results suggest that naval administration, sovereignty, and defense are highly prioritized among the five marine economic activities considered, with a value of 42%. Meanwhile, the Contiguous Zone was the highest-ranked MDZ for economic activities in Malaysian waters, with a computed values of 27.7%. This approach provides stakeholders with an evaluation model to assess marine economic activities in different MDZs, providing a robust framework for effective evaluations of MCDM, and marine operations
LEVERAGING THE POTENTIAL OF VIDEO-BASED INSTRUCTIONAL PACKAGES ON PUPILS' ACHIEVEMENT AND RETENTION IN ARITHMETIC IN ONDO METROPOLIS
This study explores the potential of video-based instructional packages on pupils’ achievement and retention in arithmetic in the Ondo metropolis. The study adopted a quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test control groups. Two primary schools were randomly selected to participate in the study, and one primary school was purposively selected for the experimental group and the other was selected for the control group within the private schools in Ondo metropolis. A total sample of ninety-eight (98) primary II pupils from two private primary schools made up the study's population. Data were collected through the Arithmetic Achievement Test (AAT) and Video-Based Instructional Package (VBIP) developed by the researchers. The data were analysed using ANCOVA. The finding indicated no significant difference in pre-test scores between the two groups, confirming their equivalence at baseline. However, post-test scores revealed that the experimental group significantly outperformed the control group, demonstrating the effectiveness of the video-based instructional packages. Based on the findings of the study, it was recommended among others that primary school teachers should adopt a video-based instructional package as a pupil-driven instructional approach that gives pupils the ability to store, retain, and recall the learning experiences and improve academic achievement in primary schools

The study recommended among others that Islamic Studies teachers should use cooperative learning method for the delivery of Islamic Studies instructions in senior secondary schools; and principals should ensure that Islamic Studies teachers always utilize student-centred methods such as cooperative learning methods for the implementation of Islamic Studies curriculum content at the senior secondary schools’ level
Inertial Iterative Algorithm of Generalized f - Projection Method for Fixed point Problem, Maximal Monotone Operators and Generalized Mixed Equilibrium Problems
The aim of this article is to investigate fixed point problem, maximal monotone operators and generalized mixed equilibrium problems by considering the generalized f− projection technique. We propose a modified inertial based algorithm for finding a common solution in respect of this problem. Also, we prove a strong convergence of the sequence generated by the proposed modified inertial iterative algorithm in uniformly smooth and uniformly convex Banach spaces. Finally, we give some applications of our theorem
A Stochastic Model for the Variation of Fourier Series Expansions with Time Delay Arising in Financial Market Price Changes
In this paper, we derive a closed-form solution for the Stochastic Delay Differential Equation(SDDE). We formulated and proved theorems using Fourier series coefficients, which providedexact conditions for asset proce returns in three scenarios : linear, quadratic, and cubic functions. These price functions were utilized as the drift, representing the return rate in the SDDEsolution, resulting in three distinct solutions. We empirically evaluated these solutions to analyze the periodic impact of delay on each asset pricefunction, revealing that an increase in the delay parameter reduces the value of time-varyingasset investments. Finally, our comparison of the asset values indicated that return rates following a linear trendoffer the highest precision
Editorial
The Nigerian Army came into existence as an army of occupation introduced by the British colonialists to protect their economic, strategic, and political interests in Nigeria. However, a major challenge facing the transformation of the Army has been how to transit from its perceived colonial role to that of a national force. The paper discusses the growth of the Nigerian Army from its inception to its present state. It highlighted the following as some of the inadequacies of the Nigerian Army: the perception of regional domination of the force due to the lopsidedness in the demography of the officer’s corps and rank and file; the issue of the Army’s inability to successfully tackle internal insecurity due to some lapses in its composition and operational strategies; and the lack of acquaintance by troops with their operational environment and other related constraints. It recommends amendments to the structure and operations of the Army for better, efficient, and effective operations as well as some critical adjustments for efficient future operations. These include a review of its policy to ensure that its personnel do not serve in their homelands, or alternatively establish a language policy whereby all personnel are encouraged to be proficient in one major Nigerian language apart from their native tongues. It also proposes the establishment of a new corps that would be trained in guerrilla warfare to tackle internal security
COEFFICIENT INEQUALITIES OF BAZILEVIC FUNCTIONS COLLIGATED WITH CONIC DOMAIN
In this paper, the concept of Bazilevic function as well as Janowski function and the conic regions are combined eectively to dene a new domain that exemplify the conic-type regions. The sub-classes of these types of functions which map the open unit disk U onto this changed Conic domain are dened. Also, the sub-classes of k -uniformly Janowski convex and k- uniformly Janowski starlike function involving Bazilevic functions are dened using Salagean derivative operator. New results were obtained along with some corollaries and the consequences of our results were pointed out
AN INTERPLAY BETWEEN HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT AND PUBLIC SECTOR ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE
As economic development becomes more globalized and science and technology continue to advance, corporate management's focus increasingly shifts from managing technology and equipment to managing employees. Several companies are dependent on their employees to gain advantage in the competitive market. This study examines the impact of human resources management practices on the performance of organization in the public sector with particular reference to Ondo State Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Using a survey research design, a sample of twenty (25) respondents was selected for the study using purposeful sampling technique. Findings of the study revealed that training and development has positive and statistically significant effect on organizational performance with the coefficient 0.406 with p-value 0.000 while recruitment and selection have positive and significant effect on organizational performance with the coefficient 0.462 and p-value 0.000. The study concludes that when human resource management within ministry is aligned properly the employees know what is expected of them and may therefore perform excellently and expectations about behavior and work. The study therefore recommends that there should be coherent and strategic training and development that is planned to match both individual and organizational interests. To ensure that training needs identified is realistic and useful, the needs should be discussed with employees. Also, budgets for training and development should be solely dedicated to such purposes and not diverted to another purpose
Corporate Governance and Performance of Listed-Nigerian Non-Financial Firms.
Recent developments, including the global financial crisis, prominent corporate scandals, and heightened public concern regarding board performance and executive compensation, have significantly increased attention toward corporate governance. This study examined the relationship between corporate governance and the financial performance of forty-five (45) listed non-financial companies on the Nigeria Exchange Limited (NGX) from 2012 to 2023. The data for the study was mined from the annual reports of the selected firms. The System Generalized Method of Moments (SGMM), which is particularly suited for analysing dynamic panel data, was employed for the data analysis. The findings showed that board size and independence do not significantly affect return on assets. Furthermore, board size has a significant negative effect on enterprise value, while board independence has a significant positive effect on enterprise value. The board ownership exhibited a significant negative impact on both financial performance proxies. In contrast, block ownership demonstrates a significant positive influence on return on assets and enterprise value. The study recommends that the Nigerian government enhance corporate governance regulations to promote block ownership by ensuring transparency, accountability, and protection of shareholder rights. This will encourage major shareholders to prioritise the company's best interests and those of minority shareholders
AN ANALYSIS OF POTENTIAL FINANCIAL DISTRESS OF SELECTED NIGERIAN BANKS USING ALTMAN Z-SCORE MODEL
The stability of financial institutions is a cornerstone for sustaining economic development, especially in emerging markets like Nigeria. This research aims to analyse the potential financial distress of some selected Nigerian banks using the Altman Z-Score model. The model is a well-established multivariate analytical tool that integrates several key financial ratios to estimate the likelihood of insolvency. The research uses secondary data from three Nigerian commercial banks, covering the period from 2017-2023. Key variables analyzed include Working capital, Retained earnings, Earnings before interest and tax (EBIT), Market value of equity, Sales, Total assets and Total liabilities. Findings indicate that there is significant relationship between the Altman Z- score and the likelihood of bankruptcy and financial distress in Nigerian banks, its predictive efficacy is often influenced by local economic factors, such as fluctuations in regulatory frameworks and broader market conditions. Therefore, the study suggests that the Altman Z-Score model might require adaptation for the Nigerian banking environment to improve its reliability in bankruptcy prediction. This research has significant implications for regulators, investors, and policymakers aiming to enhance the resilience of the financial system by identifying and mitigating risks associated with bank failures
