Perceived Employer Authenticity Effects on Employee Engagement Demonstrated Through CSR/ESG Communications

    Get PDF
Having an engaged workforce is a key competitive advantage in the market today due to the unique benefits that employees create through organizational culture and their relationships with stakeholders. With the increase in organizations participating in and reporting their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) activities to their stakeholders, communicating these types of activities becomes another tool for improving employee engagement. This research uses Social Identity Theory (SIT) to explain the important connections that can be built with employees when a corporation acts authentically. The key objective of this study was to explore how corporate authenticity in CSR/ESG communications can impact employee engagement in an organization. Employee perceptions of the CSR/ESG activities and their importance were explored as moderators in the relationship between corporate authenticity and employee engagement. Employee engagement, employee perceptions of corporate authenticity, and corporate CSR/ESG perceptions and importance were measured using primary survey data collected from employees from a broad range of organizations. The data was then analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to investigate the theoretically based, hypothesized relationships between the perceived corporate authenticity of CSR/ESG communications and employee engagement in an organization and found positive relationships between employer authenticity and employee engagement, as well as employee perceptions of CSR/ESG activities and programs through communications on overall employee engagement

    Get PDF
This presentation informs plantar fasciitis patients. The cause of plantar fasciitis is multifactorial but most cases result from overuse stress. The cause of plantar fasciitis is multifactorial but most cases result from overuse stress. The classic presentation is of sharp localized pain at the heel. In some cases, a heel spur may be found. This presentation explains how exercise can improve plantar fasciitis. Reviewing risk factors will help you identify and manage plantar fasciitis when undergoing treatment. Understanding plantar fasciitis is crucial as it is a common and painful condition affecting the bottom of the foot. This inflammation of the plantar fascia, a thick band of tissue connecting the heel bone to the toes, can result in heel pain. Topic that will be covered is prevention: Knowing the risk factors and causes of plantar fasciitis can help individuals take preventive measures, such as wearing proper footwear and maintaining a healthy weight. Early Recognition, Recognizing the symptoms early allows for prompt intervention and treatment, potentially preventing the condition from worsening. Proper Treatment: Understanding the condition enables individuals to seek appropriate treatments, which may include stretching exercises, orthotics, physical therapy, or in severe cases, medical interventions. Quality of Life: Managing plantar fasciitis effectively can significantly improve one\u27s quality of life by reducing pain and discomfort associated with everyday activities, such as walking and standing. Avoiding Complications Neglecting plantar fasciitis can lead to chronic heel pain and may alter the way an individual walks, potentially causing issues in other parts of the body. Informed Decision-Making: Those with knowledge about plantar fasciitis can make informed decisions regarding their lifestyle, footwear choices, and activities to minimize the impact on their foot health

The Sound of Silence: The Educator’s Perspective on Silence during Staff Meetings

    Get PDF
Staff meetings are a regular occurrence in schools, yet both teachers and principals typically report dissatisfaction with these meetings. The current investigation seeks to understand the viewpoints of public-school teachers on silence during staff meetings. This was the first known investigation on the topic using Q methodology. Data analysis extracted three distinct viewpoints: Get the Party Started, I Don’t Care Anymore, and Don’t Stop Believin’. This study provides the results of data analysis, responds to research questions, and makes recommendations for meeting design and facilitation. The findings indicate how the principal facilitates the meeting seems to have a more pronounced influence on teacher silence behaviors, teacher attitudes towards staff meetings, and their own silence levels, while the leadership style was less impactful. Regardless of the principal’s leadership style, teachers report increased satisfaction when the principal intentionally designed and facilitated relevant and impactful staff meetings where group norms were followed

    Human Services Case Study Analysis

    Get PDF
Helping students to envision working with a variety of clients and client systems is an essential component to the helping profession. The case study analysis system is accompanied by a case scenario on a client or client system (ex. client family). The analysis allows a student to dig through what might be occurring in the case as well as focus on positives such as past successes or client strengths. This assists the student in developing a well-rounded case plan that considers the client circumstances, what resources are available in the student’s community, and thinking through what might happen if the client doesn’t comply. Furthermore, students are asked to consider what professional skills they personally possess that would assist with the specific client scenario. The case study analysis is used throughout multiple classes in the program, enabling students to gain practice with a variety of scenarios, and build upon their own confidence in how to work with future clients.https://digitalcommons.gardner-webb.edu/public-service-oer/1000/thumbnail.jp

Exploring Superintendents’ Understandings on Virtual Learning Responses

    Get PDF
In this study, the authors sought to explore superintendents’ understandings of the various influences on how their districts implemented a 100% virtual learning experience for students for the 2020-2021 academic year. Understanding these influences allowed the authors to develop a framework for leading redesigns of learning systems in long-term crisis situations. In this qualitative study we conducted semi-structured interviews with fifteen superintendents in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Findings showed that districts sought to plan equitable virtual learning experiences for all students based on unintentional influences and the district’s intentional responses. We found that during an educational crisis, learning plans emerged as a result of the feedback between unintentional influences (politics, availability of resources, and needs of stakeholders) and district leaders’ intentional responses (leveraging relationships, communicating purposefully, and reinforcing the educational mission)
