Interview with Jayce Lewis
Get PDFJayce Lewis was born in Everett, Washington. Lewis lived in Washington until third grade when their family moved to San Antonio, Texas. Lewis attended high school at North East School of the Arts (NESA) in San Antonio from 2013 to 2017 where they concentrated in Musical Theater. While in San Antonio, Lewis worked at the Rickshaw Café. In 2017, Lewis moved to New York City to attend New York University to study acting and volunteered at New York University as house manager of the theater. Lewis moved from New York City to Chicago in 2018 Lewis moved to Chicago to study Musical Theater at Columbia College Chicago. Lewis found it difficult to transfer to Columbia at first because a majority of their credits were not accepted, and it was tough to make friends their age. Lewis has worked on a number of musical theater productions at Columbia iand is currently part of Columbia College Chicago’s Trans Student Union. Lewis has noted that they enjoy baking bread, painting, and learning French. Interview with Jay\u27La Sims
Get PDFJay’La Sims was born in Henderson, Texas and was raised in Dallas, Texas, where she now resides since the pandemic. After graduating high school at Booker T. Washington High School for Performing and Visual Arts, Jay’La is now studying comedy writing and performance at Columbia College Chicago in Chicago, Illinois, and is a member of the Improv Club, expecting to graduate in 2023 with a Bachelors in Arts. She currently lives with her mom and sister and is continuing her studies from home through virtual learning. Jay’La has performed at Comedy Cabaret at Columbia College Chicago. She is using her time at home to further develop her writing and performing skills along with her classmates.
Jay’La moved out of Columbia College Chicago’s dorms quickly after learning about the campus closures due to Covid-19 and is now sharing a room with her sister once again. Jay’La’s mom works as a nurse in two different nursing home facilities. Jay’La is hopeful to return back to campus and city life in Chicago in the fall. Interview with Makeda Duncan
Get PDFMakeda Duncan was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in the Wrigleyville neighborhood. Makeda has five siblings and currently resides with them in the Galewood neighborhood. Makeda is a commuter and her schedule on campus revolved around her commuting schedule. Makeda went to Lane Technical College Prep High School, which she describes it as a unique school with plenty of diversity in people and the classes. Makeda estimates her graduating class size was 900. She knew she would attend Columbia College Chicago because she has always wanted to attend for her major, ASL interpretation. She chose Columbia because of its creative people and to work with the deaf community. This is her sophomore year, with plans to graduate in 2022. Makeda is employed at the Student Center of Columbia. Interview with Nick Borelli
Get PDFNicholas Borelli was born in Boston, Massachusetts and grew up in Belmont with his parents and two older brothers, John and Vincent. After graduating from Belmont High School, where Nick participated in theatre, he moved to Chicago to study film directing at Columbia College Chicago. In his senior year, before starting college, Nick directed a feature film.
As a freshman at Columbia, Nick took introductory film classes and later delved deeper into the screenwriting and directing programs and establishing the student screenwriting organization Table Write, where he serves as the Vice President. Nick has directed music videos outside of the classroom and written multiple screenplays.

Interview with Snore Doumbia
Get PDFSnore Doumbia was born in Oakland, California. Both of his parents are from Mali, West Africa and when he was about 1 years old, his family moved to Denver, Colorado. From his early life he knew he wanted to create films. His love for horror films grew into love for all films in middle school and strengthened even more during high school where he participated in various art projects and performed volunteer work.
Throughout high school, Snore joined as many clubs as possible to be active in the community.
