WHAT SHOULD WE KNOW ABOUT THE WORK? This is an informative piece. I want it to be like a hug, or an extended hand to people that are feeling depressed or going through a time where they feel incredibly alone. I want them to know they are not alone.

Interview with Nathan Gagnon
Get PDFNathan Gagnon (he/him) was born in Berkeley, California in 2002 and was raised by his French-Canadian immigrant parents in Albany, California. He has always been creative: he was an aspiring animator from a young age, making videos with LEGO in his free time. In middle school he started learning piano, and he now plays guitar and sings as well. In 2019 he played his first open mic at The Octopus, a local music venue which has since closed permanently. In the spring of 2020, he had a socially distanced graduation from Albany High School after many months of remote learning. In the fall of 2020, he started his first semester at Columbia College Chicago in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, pursuing a major in Traditional Animation with a focus in Stop Motion. Interview with Rachel McCumber
Get PDFRachel McCumber was born in Lubbock, Texas. She attended Frenship Highschool in Wolfforth, Texas and graduated in 2017. She chose Columbia College Chicago and moved to the city directly after high school, where she intended to major in Theater Design. After her first year, she switched her major to Creative Writing with a concentration in Nonfiction. In March 2020, Columbia College Chicago sent out a statement informing students that classes would be moved online due to the pandemic, Covid 19, rapidly spreading across the country. McCumber lived off campus near West Loop in the Greektown area of Chicago. When classes were cancelled, she remained in the city in her apartment with her roommate. McCumber was let go by her job shortly after the school shut down and has not been able to work during this time.
